They are draining a lake in Arkansas which has concentrated the fish. They were catching crappie that looked like bass.

I've really enjoyed watching you catch these fish on utube! There are lots of nice Lakes in East Texas that you can catch a lot of crappie on , but I'm sure you've got a preference after fishing here! I live over here in north Mississippi close to Arkabutla lake, Sardis Lake, Enid Lake and Grenada Lake. I usually take my Jayco Designer 31RLTS fifth wheel camper along with me and spend a couple of nights camping in the Corp.of Engineers campgrounds for $10 a night and pull my Alweld 1860 stick steer crappie boat from Andulusia marine in Alabama w/a 70 Yamaha & ulterra Minnkota and a Garmin 126SV Echomap w/Livescope . I don't get to fish often as I want to , cause my oldest son has a brutal work schedule being an air Traffic Controller in Memphis and him having to watch me pretty close getting in and out of the boat cause I'm not steady and 77 years old. I'm getting the hang of this livescoping , but I could learn a lot more. If you're ever over this way, Please let me know and we'll do some fishing together at your pick of the lakes you wanna fish . We can camp in my camper the few days you wanna stay and hang out with me and fish long as you like . I would like to fish with you part of the day , but not all day probably! I also got a jig maker in Texas named Perry Pippenger who makes some very nice hand made jigs for crappie. Just let me know if you think you'd be interested in a good fishing trip. If we enjoy fishing together , maybe you could meet me with the camper and my boat or not the boat down there in Texas at one of your lakes. Thanks, Jerry Surratt

Great video, yours is one of my favorite channels. One question, where is your net? Big crappie are notorious for breaking off as you put the extra pressure on the line to lift them into the boat. Have a great day and keep up the good work. PB
I really appreciate the kind words! I have a small net I use for catfish when they are on the rocks but honestly I don’t really use a net. I honestly like to keep it as sporty as I can. I use an ultralight, 4 lb line and I have the drag loose. If the fish gets off, oh well. Hope that makes sense 👍🏼👍🏼

what a great way to fish this time of the year.... I spent all weekend hunting stagers in East TX on trees and up shallow. Didn't think about chasing schools! I wonder how often you can find them like that in open water?

It’s such a weird deal here. Most of the time they are on cover. I’m still learning about the open water fish. Hope to keep finding them
I noticed that you have your transducer connected to the PVC pipe. Mine is attached to my tolling motor at the bottom. I like how you can move yours around while the motor is working. I live in TX near Lake Ray Roberts and think this would be handy as well. Can you do a video of the setup you have when you get a chance? It looks like its all in the cooler.

Buddy what model garman livescope are you useing? Please tell us abbn out your home made set up. In the market and havent hit the lottery yet and that looks affordable to me
It’s a cooler with a pvc pipe transducer pole. It works great for me to move back and forth from the boat and yak
@@KidKrappie what model Garmin is it. I have little.knowledge about these things..i fisf from a 2 man.Pelican and have a Garmin Striker plus on it. Its just "down draft" not side view. I want to build something like your so I can use it in my other buddies boats .
