      if you are more into clubbing, younger and less "obnoxiously luxury" scene... just google or yandex any club area in the center of the city (mostly within Garden Ring - circular road around Moscow center. Or within Moscow metro Koltsevaya line - Brown Circular metro line). Crowd is a bit younger than over at Patriki. 25ish+. Summer time club hoping time usually goes like this: ua-cam.com/video/rgFNeItq93g/v-deo.html

    • @alexzamik
      @alexzamik 26 днів тому +3

      TBH, it s a bit too early to hang out at Gorky. Try latter. Summer months. It is good place to meet and talk to people, make new friends and just good ol' people watching.. :) It is less noisy than other parts of center, so people would be more into talking and making new friends. Gorky used to be more of "teenagery" just 10 years ago, but Its more of a young adults and family-oriented now.
      A friendly advice: head to Patriarch Ponds area. For a wow-effect for your foreign viewers mostly. Day time for more calm and quite strolling. And evening time for restaurant/club/bar hoping. Big outdoor street style nightlife scene there. Moscow young adults (30ish+) grooving there a lot. Place to be if you are young adult and actively looking for night stand or more. You will immediately feel it there just by how women and men are. Патрики / "Patriki" - semi-official name on Moscow slang. Everyone understand you if you mention Patriki. Day time: ua-cam.com/video/vpUwjfJzVB0/v-deo.html
      Be aware this area has "ego", and luxury feel. Like a little Monaco. A lot of testosterone and those who are looking for testosterone. Super safe, no problem with locals. Area is home for many celebrities and residence for successful business people. Everyone on their best behavior. Evening time: ua-cam.com/video/ozX-tHb2pMk/v-deo.html
      There are a lot of upscale venues, so expect some percentage of "usual suspects" - wondering girls looking for rich husbands aka gold-diggers (such areas is an international phenomen and problem, yeah unfortunately, Moscow is no different than any other global city here). But you might find a genuine one, you never know. Nightlife of Patriki: ua-cam.com/video/ylzHuZ-pnq8/v-deo.html
      Map here, 4-5 blocks and streets around this city pond : yandex.ru/maps/-/CDV6fE2u

    Gorky Park is used to be the most popular in modern Russia days, approx between 2010-2015. But currently I would say city reconstructed much more areas, including parks, which are not worse than this park. VDND, for example, is considered the main city park/park space in the city. But that doesn't mean the others are worse, just they all have different concepts.

    Первый парк в котором я была когда приехала в Москву был Фили, потом прогулялась на Смотровой около МГУ, там можно прокатиться на фуникулёре от Лужников. С подругой ездили на Поклонную гору там очень красивые фонтаны с подсветкой, там сейчас проходит выставка военной техники. Парк Горького очень людный, летом там вдоль набережной бегает много спортсменов, а также есть танцевальная площадка и отходят экскурсионные катера. Самый запоминающийся Парк на мой взгляд ВДНХ, фонтаны и архитектура, много экспозиций и выставка Россия. Также стоит отметить Парк Останкино, ВВЦ и Ботанический сад. Сокольники тоже хороший для отдыха с детьми, иногда в парках проходят фестивали как например в Измайлово или Остров Мечты. В целом, в Москве много парков вроде официально 781, поэтому каждый выбирает тот, что ему ближе и под какие цели, от семейного отдыха и готовки шашлыка на мангале, велопрогулки или исторического осмотра Усадеб. Удачи, было интересно вместе с вами на виртуальной прогулке. Весной и летом будет самое лучшее время, всё цветёт и будут работать фонтаны.

    This park is absolutely staggering in autumn, when all these branches turn green in summer it's beautiful, yeah, but in autumn when the weather is still warm now and then the day may be gloomy due to the clowds but the brightness and vividness of yellow and red leaves of the trees make it look like a fairy tale! Also, when the leaves are falling down it's such a pleasure to just kick small batches of leaves before they were removed by the city services. You immediately feel like a child when this happens.

I am looking to network with western foreigners in Moscow as I would eventually like to move there and do business there. I have what many would consider a good situation in the UK but I want to move for a while in Russia and like I said do business because there are so many opportunities with their import substitution programs and so many companies looking to export and aggressively expanding. I grew up in Glasgow (but spent most of my life England and a little while in continental Europe). I hope you respond and we could correspond a little bit.

    In a big city like Moscow, or maybe in Moscow in particular, despite these grand architectural designs, what you experience is a lack of space - parking space, space in public transport, space in a swimming pool, a place in school, and whatever else. So people appreciate all the calm they can have, and this might also be the reason noone is very talkative or loud (you may live in the same commie block, and not say hi to your neighbour of 20 years). We value our personal space, and that of others, because there's not much of it.

There's no comparison between how it was and how it is now, gopniks are all but extinct in major cities. There is still a corruption and a lot of high level crime, but the street crime might be the lowest than I've seen through my life. There is a growing threat from ethnic crimes from migrants though, due to government's negligence, but I hope Krokus was a wake up call loud enough to reach even the most dense up there.

If you walk further down the Moscow river embankment you'll come across Neskuchny Sad, then Sparrow Hills nature reserve with amazing springs of fresh water and the the Moscow University's Botanical Gardens. These are way better than overcrowded Gorky Park. Tsaritsino Park and Estate, VDNH, Serebyany Bor (Silver Pine) parks are also a lot better and more exxiting.
