@@MyForkingLife Yea, what passes for bacon here in Japan is just ham that's made with pork belly (i.e. it's fully cooked). Doesn't fry up the same way as cold smoked bacon, and it tastes more like fatty ham.

It's actually better to skip the preheat process when cooking pork, it "renders" the fat better
