Howdy Brother Duke- the sawdust was a trick from my Dad. He had all kinds of tips and tricks. He was a true master craftsman. I hope y’all are doing well and maybe get some of the rain that’s supposed to move in. Have a great week. Take care and God bless y’all
Beautiful craftsmanship. Love the batten strip idea. A lot of good info in this video. Love the funky tunes too ! Thanks , Terry
Howdy Terry- thank you so much for the kind words. Much appreciated brother. The Lady does all the editing and she picks the music. Was a tough video to edit because of the generator noise. God bless

The sawdust-as-degreaser bit is a pro tip I've never heard before. I like the live edge take on the interior battens. It breaks up the lines and gives additional character. God bless.
Howdy Zed- I had other comments about the sawdust in the nails. It’s something I’ve done for years. Yeah, I like the live edge look and it fun to do. God bless you
Excellent quality, the 7 and 30-degree angles really look beautiful. Thank you for the sawdust on the nails info, we do not want smudges on the clean wood. Jim

Cool idea on the batten edges. Variety is nice to have in case someone wants something different. STAY SAFE!!
Howdy Brother Travis- I got that idea from a friend who lives in Estonia and is a logbuilder. I need to send you some pictures of what he does. Yeah, I realize the live edge stuff is not for everybody but right now it’s really popular. God bless y’all
I liked the details on the battons.
Howdy Ken- so glad you like them. It takes a bit of time but they are enjoyable to do. God bless you

Nice... I like the “live edge” look. I also like the 7 degree thing.... when we did ours, we did all the windows with square cuts. Yours looks waaaaaaay better!
Howdy Chris- thank you so much for watching our videos. I sure appreciate the support. Yeah, I enjoy doing trim work. It’s even more fun when I get to make everything. Have a great week my friend. Take care and God bless

Howdy Brother Roy- glad you liked it. It’s a bit different but fun to do. Hope y’all are doing well down there. Y’all may get some of the rain moving in. We sure need it up here. Have a great week. Take care and God bless
@@TheBeardedCarpenter well we been working on our sawmill shed getting ready to expand it, and I used how you did your settling beam on your kitchen, but reverse it and made a setting post for my shed with the ideal how you did your beam, I got to edit the video and hopefully get it posted here before long, we really appreciate y’all and hope y’all are doing good.
@@CountryHomestead1 That’s great! Looking forward to seeing the video! Blessings
Very nice.
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for the kind words. God bless
Very good video. You are a great carpenter. This is going to help me with the trim for my windows as well as the live edge work I have to do. Thanks again. One day I would like to meet you and do my best to make myself useful on one of your carpenter projects. It is an honor to do carpentry work sense the Lord Jesus was a carpenter as well.
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for the kind words. Glad you were able to get some information from the video. It would be great to see something that our Lord made back when He walked the earth. Take care and God’s blessings to you
@@TheBeardedCarpenter Thanks for the nice reply. I agree, it would be great to see something Jesus made when he was here. Do you ever do any scroll saw work? If you do I'm sure you'r very good at it sense paying attention to detail and accuracy is so apparent in cabin work. I use to do quite a bit of scroll saw work. Grace, mercy, and peace to you in the name of our blessed Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
@@w96725 No, I’ve not done much scroll work. Been too busy doing other things. Not enough hours in the day. Blessings to you
@@TheBeardedCarpenter I got into scroll work when I turned seventeen. One of the big reasons I did was because my health failed on me at that young age. My immune system was shot. I had to even stop going to school for a year because I simply was to weak to walk down the halls or even sit up for long periods. I could however do a little scroll work here and there. I eventually had to leave home and live with my grandfather for a while where things were still and quiet. My healing from the Lord Jesus began their. The lord revealed to me at my grandfathers that he was going to help me go back to school and I would be preaching at the school my senior year. This I did by the help of the Lord. I received my diploma, had perfect attendance to the glory of God, and preached at the flag pole most of that whole school year. If it wasn't for Jesus that would of never happened. I thank God for his goodness and mercy to me. Glory to his holy name!!! That was way back between the years of 2000 and 2001. I'm forty one years old now. For the past five years, the Lord has given me the chance to get some land and build a log cabin on it, which is one of the reasons I often watch your videos ( I learn a lot from your fine work). Thanks again for your videos and responses. God bless you brother.
@@w96725 Wow! That is an amazing testimony! Thank you so much for sharing this! God bless you
it really looks lovely
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for watching the video and for the kind words. God bless
nice work
Howdy Steve- thank you so much for the kind words. God bless
Fantastic
Howdy Robert- thank you so much for watching the video and for the nice comment. God bless
I'm always impressed with your attention to detail but cleaning the oil off the nails is another level. I haven't done alot of construction but I have noticed the oil before. Great editing as usual!!! 💚🙌🇺🇸
Howdy Drew- thank you so much for the kind words. The Lady does all the editing. I’m not allowed near the computer lol. Sorry I missed the get together at Jeff’s. I had to get the starter back on the tractor and work on my truck. Was well after dark when I got through. You gotta make a trip over here sometime. Take care my friend. God’s blessings to you
It’s great that your dad taught you so much!
Howdy Gregg- Daddy was a real stickler for doing things right. He was a good teacher. I was so blessed to have spent the years working with him. Take care and God bless
And there it was... Trimmed and boxed in, and as always with a fantastic precision and finish - just love your dedication and eye for detail. Thanks for another great great video of teaching on how it's done.
All the best from your Danish apprentice, living and building in the Swedish woods.
Howdy Michael- thank you so much for the kind words. I appreciate you and what you are doing with your own log cabin. I’m humbled that you would watch my videos and use them to build your own work of art. Take care my friend and I’ll see you on your next video. God bless
It was a pleasure to meet you this week. The cabin has a nice homey feel. You do very good quality work 👍👍👍👍👍
Howdy Lady Bell- I was glad to get to meet y’all also. Thank you so much for the kind words. Come on back when you get a chance. Take care and have a great week. God’s blessings to you
Wow Paul! It’s looking so beautiful! It’s hard to believe it’s the same house! ❤
Howdy Sis Jan- thank you so much! Hope you can get back down sometime soon. Take care and God’s blessings to you
Beautiful job as always Paul! Love that live edge look battens. Looks like a lot of work, but really gives it a custom look!👍Sorry we are so late commenting, we had company. Our son and his wife came for a visit from Florida! First guests in our cabin 😊Can’t wait to see yours finished! It’s going to be awesome!!👍👍
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for the kind words! Much appreciated. Yeah, doing the live edge takes more time for sure but I enjoy it. I’m sure you had an exciting time with your family and getting to use the beautiful cabin was icing on the cake. Doing extra detail on a cabin definitely takes longer. We’ve had other things we have been doing along with the cabin build. Not enough hours in the day. Hope all is well. Take care and God’s blessings to y’all
It's always a treat to see you and your work Paul. I pray you and Donna are both enjoying life my friend. Stay safe
Howdy Brother- thank you so much. Hope all is well across the pond. I’ll see you Tuesday night if I get home in time. Take care and have a great week. God bless

Just wanted to say Happy Turkey Day to You & Family !! Admiring your attention to detail , a true Craftsman !! Make me think of an ol boy i once worked with , we doin some carpentry for an ol black woman , he was trimmin out the window , which was not pretty at all , told me he was a Finish carpenter , i almost died tryin not to laugh, my thoughts were , if he's a finish carpenter? that i was an airplane pilot , & never set foot on a plane . I figure , do i right , no mater what , do it like ya were doin it for yourself , take pride , we parted ways not long afterwards . I do admire Your work !! take care , love the videos !!
Howdy James- I sure appreciate your kind words. Yeah, I’ve seen some carpentry work that could use some improvement. Thank you for the holiday wishes and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving as well. God’s blessings to y’all
@@TheBeardedCarpenter Thank Ya Sir
Paul, you do great work, i wish you lived close to me in western NC. How was the cabin roof insulated since you can still see the rafters & sheating boards from inside? Also, i like your hat, what name brand is it? Thanks
Howdy y’all- western North Carolina is a beautiful place. The roof has a secondary roof over the exsposed decking. The roof is insulated between the rafters that aren’t visible. I’ve had several comments on that old hat. I’ve had it for years. It’s a Thorough Bred 7x that I bought at a men’ clothing store that went out of business a long time ago. God bless
👍👍👍
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for watching our video. Take care and God bless
