I was born a year and a half after the collapse. Never got to see them and only now am I learning the story of what actually happened. I think the world was robbed of some great American architecture. The new WTC doesn’t do justice to what the first two were

@@ajplays7241 The Twin Towers aren't allowed to be rebuilt in NYC, but they can possibly be rebuilt in a different city or country. That'd be a better business idea anyway, rather than building in the same city & area that they were destroyed.
Imo, I think putting a replica of the Twins in Chicago would be a good idea since we happen to have a lot of blocky, Manhattan-ish buildings in our skyline *and* a lakefront. It's rumored that even Ken Gardner suggested building in Chicago after his "Twin Towers II" plan flopped.
A replica of the Twins would look really cool in our skyline next to the Aon Center building and we would get so many tourists here if this happened.
It was like the ending of the 90s and into a decade filled with hate, division and overpowering technology.

KiceLee Imo, that all began in the Late 00's after Obama was elected, the iPhone was invented and UA-cam & high-speed internet was officially mainstream. People who weren't kids during 9/11 say that the event and everything that was going on actually brought people together for a while, and Americans were more patriotic for a brief period. (Especially in East Coast Hip Hop culture)
But nowadays, since the Obama era, American patriotism is often mocked and frowned upon. Even Amoco Gas (which had a patriotic, 1980's GI Joe style motif) changed all their stations to BP (British Petroleum) a year after 9/11 happened, ironically. it's sad. Sometimes I wish I could just take a vacation back in time to when things were more normal.

Used to be the two tallest buildings in the United States 🇺🇸 that’s no longer an existing fact 🥺
There was a survivor story I listened to where he talked about his office near the top of the building and on foggy days he would just see a white blanket and the Empire State across the way and it was beautiful. He was on his way up when the plane hit and he ended up getting out.
My uncle was working in the North Tower and had luckily gotten out in time. That was such a scary day for us. Our family, including my aunt, had to wait several hours to find out if he was okay but finally the call came. Many of his friends and colleagues unfortunately were not as lucky 💔
Unfortunately witnessed the attacks first hand from our classroom window in NJ. I was in 6th grade at the time. Will never forget.

articgoneape our school had a direct view of the towers in Jersey City..my teacher began by looking out of the window, and his reaction of course caught everyone’s attention. & at that time both towers had been hit, so it was strange in my mind how both towers were “on fire” . Our teacher to his credit tried to keep us away from the window, but there was no stopping us really .. after witnessing the collapse of the south tower I couldn’t bare anymore of what I was seeing & ran to the nurse’s office where I unsuccessfully tried to contact my dad. I stayed with a friend’s mom when we were released from school and eventually met with my dad later that day.
oscar 97 was probably just as terrifying on tv. We were both very young. It’s something for sure we’ll never forget.
@@tomasandreas7939 I was in Math class when the teacher had turned on the TV. The first plane had already hit but we got to see the second one hit and both the towers fall. It was horrifying seeing it on TV, can't imagine physically seeing it in person happen. Its amazing the little things you remember as well. I remember exactly what we were learning in Math class and remembering the principal coming over the speaker asking all the teachers to turn off the TV (once everything unfolded) so that we concentrate on the rest of our day. Obviously no one couldn't after such a tragedy! My chorus teacher didn't teach class any because a relative of hers worked in one of the World Trader Center buildings and hadn't heard yet if they were okay or not. I know the images of those towers falling will never leave your memory!

I can't help but think the new tower seems out of place in New York.. and the fact it doesn't have a twin too. For someone who has been in new York and worked and seen the old towers do you agree? My daughter loves the Twin Towers! She likes watching happy videos and images of them and not sad and heartbreaking stuff of them! She loves how they are twins and she enjoys calling them "The World Trade Center's Two Beautiful Twin Sisters!" This video made her very happy and she can see the towers playing in the clouds that are going through them! The Twin Towers everyday had a beautiful smile! 💙

I was born in The Bronx in 1981, which by that time made the Twin Towers 8 years old. I had the opportunity to grow up for nearly 20 years with those huge buildings as a part of my skyline. I even had the chance to visit the WTC complex a month before 9/11/01. I'll always have my memories of that NYC. Thanks for the video post. 🌎🇵🇷🇺🇸😉

I was born in 93 right after the first attack, I still remember being in elementary school when 9/11 happened
Currently live in NJ for 29 years. Seen them countless times from a distance & up close. But never crossed my mind to actually go inside and experience the observation deck, which I now totally regret. So I still feel totally bummed that they didn’t rebuild them.
That would feel pretty weird to a 9/11 survivor, seeing a replica of their tragedy, wouldn’t it?

The building has been complete for almost 5 years and I'm still not used to it!
The observation deck of the Twin Towers was a place where people could appreciate quietly and in peace, and the Windows On The World restaurant was classy and calm. I never saw them in real life, but when I see videos of people who did visit them, it looks amazing. If you go up the One World Trade Center, the "Freedom Tower", it's all just a show for tourists. The Twin Towers were truly something iconic.

Why?
1. Bring more office spaces for the WTC complex, to provide more rooms for more companies.
2. It’s the symbol of NYC.
3. It’s a symbol of the United States.
To-do:
1. Name those 6WTC and 8WTC (or 8WTC & 9WTC);
2. Make it taller with safer structure;
3. Make the external design the same or similar as the original towers;
4. Give them the exclusive zip code 10048 that the original complexes used to have;
5. Also bring back the Windows On The World restaurant and the rooftop observation deck.
The 90s ended on 9/11
Imo, the 90's truly ended in the Late 00's when the iPhone was invented, Obama became the POTUS, the economic crash happened and 1999 Ford Crown Victoria cabs & cop-cars were being replaced. After all, some people call the 00's "The Noughties" since the decade still had a lot of leftovers. The main thing that really changed immediately after 9/11 was security measures and people became more paranoid.
I wish they would have rebuilt the towers in the spirit of defiance.

I loved the Twin Towers, they have always been my favorite skyscrapers ever built. They still are even though they are no longer with us, I miss them everyday and will continue to miss them until my last breath. 9/11 cut me deep because of all those innocent people who died when the planes hit and when the towers collapsed. The towers will always have a special place in my heart, they were so beautiful looking, all it's little details like it's tridents, corners, etc. Rest In Peace to all that died on 9/11 🙏

@@BengalsxXx16 Sadly no but I always wanted to, I live in the UK and I was always amazed by them whenever I saw them. I was only 19 when that awful day happened and it broke my heart seeing everything that unfolded that day.
I still do plan to visit New York and the first place I will go to is the memorial pools where the towers once stood, then I'll visit one world, the oculus and the September 11th museum.

I was only 5 when it happened but I did ofc get to see the Twin Towers in the skyline when my parents drove past them. We lived in NY our whole lives so that was nice. Ofc I don’t really remember much but my parents told me cuz they used to worked in the city before that tragedy

During the Months leading up to 9/11, there were many vacant floors undergoing “renovations”. The elevators were also going through upgrades which took months to complete, and allowed hundreds of tradesmen, laden with tonnes of parts and equipment, free access into both buildings and in particular, the elevator shafts which provided access to every column. The weekend before 9/11 there was no operational security in the building for the best part of 2 days. This information is not a conspiracy theory, it is easily verified by the Port Authority service records. There was more than enough time & opportunity to completely wire both buildings for a controlled explosion. Wake up America, your Governments have a history of doing this. Use some of your intelligence to seek the truth yourself. May all the victims of 9/11 RIP.........l
the same happened here in UK when we had 7/7 London bombings, the explosions on the tube came from underneath the tube floors which is why many people had their legs blown off. The bombs were planted under the trains and they were military high grade explosives, they killed the electrician who wired them up
My friends dad died during 9/11 .. I cannot imagine the countless tragedies that came from that day. I hope we never forget so that we never have to see something like this repeated.
