      Thanks! I’m really excited for that one too. The modular talk was actually the original inspiration for this series. I was just going to make that video because I like the mod sets so much, and then somehow that evolved into the idea of looking at all the ways to modify the game. So it’s nice I’ve finally made it back around to it lol

      @@GetUpandGame Great video! I really enjoyed it 👍😁 Something that can make the She-Hulk ally much better is to use her in a Spider-Woman leadership/aggression deck. She can get 7 HP that way, and suddenly work her way up to hitting like a truck! Also, if there is no ruling against it, can Rogue take cards from Dr Strange’s invocation discard pile? If so, they just might be the craziest and most overpowered team up 🤣

      I hate to be the bearer of bad news but unfortunately Gambit’s power doesn’t work on Beat ‘Em Up. He can only charge an Attack event, meaning an event that says (attack) in its text. And Beat ‘Em Up doesn’t have the (attack) designator so it isn’t a valid target for Charge counters 😕

      I know, it’s been really sad every Thursday sitting in front of my computer hoping to record an announcement video lol. But I have good news! I saw on Discord that someone asked on Facebook about the silence and the Fantasy Flight Games account responded with “Another wave is coming. And believe us it will be worth the wait!”
      So we’re definitely getting more! Not sure why it’s taking so long this time but it’s good to know that there’s some thing to look forward to!
      As for my general feelings on the future, we know there are 2 more waves of mutants coming. And then after that my prediction is Fantastic Four followed by Daredevil/Defenders/Street level stuff. So much cool potential still out there!

    The only thing I still need to know is the ratio of cards I should include. How many allies, how many upgrades/supports, how many events, and how many from aspect vs basic. Etc. I have no idea what the ideal ratio is.

    • @GetUpandGame
      @GetUpandGame  Рік тому +1

      Honestly it’s completely hero dependent. There just isnt an ideal ratio across the board. Some decks want a ton of events, some don’t really need that many. Aspect vs basic doesn’t have a target. Etc. It’s very deck by deck. I specifically didn’t put anything like that here cause it’s just not helpful unfortunately
      It’s more about picking what you want the deck to do and leaning into that.
      But to try to narrow it down some, start with your hero traits. Are there good cards in basic and your aspect that play with that trait? Probably use those.
      Make sure you have a good number of resources, including the grey doubles and at least 1 resource generator like a Helicarrier or something. If you have a decent amount of pricey aspect cards grab a Power Of.
      4-6 allies is a safe number. Certainly some decks want more and some less but I feel ok saying that. Especially some cheap ones to block with
      Events/upgrades/supports are just so deck dependent though. It’s less about how many and more about grabbing the ones that do want you to do. Doesn’t matter if it’s a lot of one thing and not that many of another.
      I’d be happy to help more though. If you have a specific hero and aspect you’re interested in building for I can give a more specific example of what I would recommend!

      @@MAXFightMan and I think we will see those eventually. You know, it’s kind of crazy when you think of how much potential content is still out there. One or two more X cycles of course, but we still have a Daredevil type wave surely to come, the Fantastic Four, hopefully more Asgard stuff and more Gamma stuff. That could be at least 6 more waves before we even have to think about dipping into lower tier characters or taking a second look at some of the original heroes

  • @DeannaGilbert616

    With Resourceful (and other similar resource storage cards) when you say it’s “costing you two resources to get one later” I’m not following the reasoning there. Can you unpack that?

    • @GetUpandGame
      @GetUpandGame  Рік тому

      Sure thing! Every card essentially costs you 1 more resource than its cost, due to the fact that you’re losing the card itself from your hand. This is sometimes referred to as “effective cost”. Resourceful has a resource cost of 1, but its effective cost is 2 because when you play it from your hand you’re spending another resource to cover its cost, but the Resourceful itself is also removed from your hand, meaning you have 1 less resource to spend on something else.
      To put it another way: you start the turn with 5 cards in hand, 5 potential resources. After spending 1 card to cover the cost of Resourceful and playing the Resourceful itself, you now have 3 cards left. The card cost 1, but you now have 2 less resources than you started with.

    • @DeannaGilbert616
      @DeannaGilbert616 Рік тому

      Okay, I can see that reasoning.
      But ...
      Doesn't that apply to EVERY card then? Like, even a 0 cost card is effectively costing "one".
      My concern is that it seems when we're making a cost comparison, we're talking "effective cost" for these "battery" cards but then we're comparing it to just the straight resource cost for other cards?
      So we're not really comparing apples to apples in that case.
      It seems to me that battery cards are great for those decks which have a lot of more expensive cards, or for those which only have a hand size of 4 when in Hero form, because it ensures that you'll be able to use any 4-cost when they actually pop up in your hand.
      @@GetUpandGame

    • @GetUpandGame
      @GetUpandGame  Рік тому

      @@DeannaGilbert616 yeah it’s not always a necessary distinction since it applies across the board. It can be helpful when working out cost curves for decks and such, knowing that a 4 cost card is the same as a 1 and 2 cost card together. But unless people are being very clear it often causes more problems than it’s worth since not everyone may be using the same terminology
      That being said, I don’t remember what I said in this video, but just to give my thoughts on these battery cards now, you’re right they can be useful in certain heroes. Particularly those that want a lot of a particular resource.
      I would say the biggest downside is that most heroes have access to a better resource generator. If they don’t have any in their kit, depending on their traits theirs a good chance there’s a really solid support for them, and at the very least there’s always Helicarrier. The trade off of course is that those cost 1 more than the batteries, but they’re permanent.
      Like I said, I don’t remember what I said in the video but apologies if it came across as negative or unhelpful! I’m not the biggest fan of those but it could also just be a play style thing. I tend to run very low cost curve decks that can get away with just running a Helicarrier or whatever the hero comes with.
      But depending on what cards you have access to, I can easily see a case for Iron Man wanting the mental one, Cap Marvel the energy one, and Hulk the punchy one for examples.
