Jessie was ill the week before this show. She suffers with a heart condition and was advised by her doctors not to travel to China. So this performance has some significance, hence the emotional ending.
The dress, remember the Bow scene from the film.
She was advised not to sing because she was in hospital with a heart condition and she felt as if she was going to pass out

I’m sure I would. I don’t think I can do them too often. They don’t get a lot of attention or views or likes but more frustratingly, UA-cam really doesn’t like me posting things from that concert. I will try one more sometime in the future. Hopefully it will go better.

She was stopping herself from fainting the whole of this performance.

The irony of her ongoing heart condition causing her to have to fly out of China (where a medication she needed wasn't available), miss a week, and return to this song shouldn't be lost to anyone. She was underrehearsed with the band too. And her shakes were real. She's actually short of breath in a few places too, but is such a pro, she makes it sound BETTER, and more emotive, because of that.
And that audience, despite generally being primed to prefer Chinese contestants, would probably have walked barefoot on broken glass for Jessie by the end of that performance. You could see it.

Edit 4:38 - yes she litteraly was. Jessie j has a rare heart disease and during the show (2 weeks before this performance) she was rushed back to England as she was having huge problems with her heart beat. She came to do this performance against her doctors advice and litteraly could have died from the pressure on her heart. Crazy!!

Jessie is SO underrated. I think the only other artist that sounds perfect live is Kelly Clarkson. Both can sing the phonebook. Nobody's perfect and Who uou are by Jessie please. And Piece by piece (live from the farewell season of American idol) and I dare you (recorded live during a zoom session in 6 different languages) by Kelly. You won't be disappointed 👌
7:45 not flat, but sharp. :) She was still a little too wide from the last 'e' vowel sound in "you're . . . here" because she chose to end it with an 'r' sound instead of opening up to an 'uh' sound. Really the best place for modifying that would have probably been in "there's" but doing it as 'thurs' and all the muscles should be in right placement for 'nothing'.
It's such a tiny detail though in the grand scheme of things, and she noticed it pretty much immediately and corrected it lol.
Love this comment. I’ve been pretty transparent about the fact that my knowledge of music and the mechanics of singing is far from expert. I do my best but I honestly am just shy of left field, 😝. I really appreciate the breakdown. Thank you!

On a performance note though, what I especially love about Jessie is whenever she is performing to a live crowd and there are cameras rolling, you will always see her give priority to the live crowd before she does anything for the camera. Most definitely a trait from her background in musical theatre shining through there.
