Mine feel very bad. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Updated them and hooked them back up to the Xbox and the sound quality is not there. Sounds faint. Trying these on Apex Legends. I have the Arctis 7s on PC and they sound amazing. These are not even close to my 7s. The volume feels like it is half of what the 7s are. Any ideas?
What is the newest firmware update number? I heard it needed updating out of the box , but I connected and no update option. Click about says 18.0000. Is that the newest one or is there a way I need to update that?

These are great, but have connectivity issues. Also uncomfortable on ear because of small cushions and tight on big heads. Also these will break within the year. It’s cheap plastic so you take them off and put em on enough they will break. I’m on my second pair and when these break I will be buying the most expensive unbreakable wired headset to avoid connection problems and breakage yearly.

I did use performance for seige. I believe there are some other online recommendations that I have seen that bring in more clarity though. Can't recall where I saw that though.

I thought there was an iPhone app to adjust the graphic equalizer in real time during gameplay. Maybe I’m thinking of a previous headset I had. Anyway, the volume isn’t very loud on these. I play with it maxed out and would like it to be even louder.
What's the best preset to use? I just keep them on number 2 and also when I switch between them on Engine does that change it for when I go to use them on my Xbox or does it have to be done by pushing the button a set amount of times?

I’ve gone through 3 different “setup” reviews and not one …and I mean not one shows how to use the microphone. When extended, and using an Xbox S … with any other headset, a icon would show above my Avatar a Mic symbol and see on the screen when sound ..like talking was being picked up and transmitted… is the mute on when the mic is lit red, or off ? I cannot figure out how to speak to my friends using this headset. When doing a review, show how to connect to talk…it’s one of the main reasons to buy a headset of this quality. The in-game sound and connectivity was the best I’ve ever used, and I love the comfort and fit with the adjustable headband was amazing. Oh. I noticed that the 9x product page mentions Microsoft sonic but not Dolby Atmos. Is it better to use Atmos with these or would the performance be better with sonic? Anyone compared the two?
@@steveyg777 dts will give you a 7.1 simulation. That’s going to be 3 front, 2 side, 2 rear. Dolby atmos will give you 5.2.1 which is 3 front, 2 rear, 2 ceiling. The 1 at the end always refers to subwoofer.

@@steveyg777 I have not. Looking at arctic website, the 9x isn’t compatible with either. The 7x and the pro seem to be compatible with Dolby while the 9x is only sonic although some have noticed a difference.

Hey. I have a question regarding 9X ;) I bought them and I connected them to my Xbox series X and to my iPhone. I want to play warzone (Xbox) and speak on discord (iPhone)... But whenever I am joining a channel my game sound is so quiet even on maximum volume and on fully party switcher on for game... Bearly hear game sound. Is there an option to fix that and gives more control to headphones when switching "party mode" OR at least make lauder game sounds while speaking on discord?
I have the 9x for over 1 year. Sorry to tell you that these helmets are not compatible with chat mix. It will only let you talk with the xbox party or with your bluetooth, but not with both at the same time.
@@luciano4296 yeah ;) And the problem wasn't with chat mix because I even don't want this :) The issue was only that game sounds were quieter than without BT connected... But now I've fixed it. If someone will have the same problem solution was to update the firmware of headphones and then on UI (when connected to PC) switch inside "Bluetooth call" to "Do nothing during calls". After that when speaking over the phone it will no change game volume ;) And YES, you can make updates and switch that when connected to PC, then disconnect and connect headphones with Xbox, and settings will stay as you configure on PC. Very good headphones! :)
It should definitely be able to connect as shown. I am sorry that yours isn't connecting. I don't know what Steelseries' customer care is like, but I would try there. If I find anything online that could help, I will add a link.
You need to purchase the app through the xbox and watch movies from your xbox connected tv to get Atmos on your headphones. Thankfully, it is a one time purchase, and doesn't cost that much.

@@mickd9717 the Atmos app only works when viewing/listening to movies, series, or games through your xbox. Xbox has Vudu, Apple tv, HBO Max, Amazon Prime, and more to watch Atmos enabled media. Also 4k disc movies that have Atmos support will work from your Xbox. Key is to watch from your Xbox since the Atmos codec app is active from the xbox when purchased.
i use this headset on my pc also, I had to buy the xbox dongle ( usb stick ) to get the sound to work, once this was working the sound quality was very low. I found this video and thought i'd then purchase the Dolby Atmos which made a slight difference and made it a little louder but not as expected. My Firmware is up to date. Unfortunately these headphones are mainly for the xbox and i feel this is what hinders them on the pc but i'm not expert. ( Steelseries customer support are no use either, i went round in circles for weeks with them before i gave up)

To anyone reading this.... I highly discourage anyone from purchasing this headset. Without question the worst headset I have ever owned. Not just because of all the issues which I won't list... but mainly because of the sound. If you play a lot of Warzone/COD.. you will not be happy with this headset.
You can adjust headphone bass on the Steelseries Engine application on a computer. All updated changes will work on the Xbox. There is even a bass boost option. You can also set headphones to performance mode directly from the Xbox for better bass if you purchased the Dolby Atmos codec from the Microsoft store. There are some instructions in the video.
Don’t update it. It fixed the connectivity issue but the mic quality is worse. I don’t know what they did but other have reported the same issue. I sound like a McDonald’s worker now after the recent firmware update.

Garbage garbage garbage! Do Not Buy 9x. This headset has major design flaws. The headset joint can easily brake from the headband and ear cups. There are also major wireless connection issues from headset to xbox. Consistent disconnection and interference noise in the headset. Sadly the warranty or support will help you with any of the issues mentioned. I personally purchased 3 of these headset 2 snapped 3rd one is basically unusable due to connection issue and Steel Series will not give any support. Other words $600 down the drain. Garbage products sold by a garbage company. Do Not Buy you will waste your money!

I had them for over 3 months and never had a issue now they make like a buzzing sound when i turn on the mic kinda strange but any recommendations?
The buzzing sound is just the mic monitoring, its relaying a bit of the audio coming through the microphone to tell you what you sound like.
Anyone having issues with the elgato chat link cable? Audio from game and party chat I can hear fine but my mic isn't working.

I personally haven't checked out Microsoft Sonic, but I have read where others say that Dolby Atmos is better.

No problem! Dolby Atmos would have to run through the Xbox with the app to work.

No, I do not hear myself talk in these. If there is ever audio feedback issues, adjust the side tones

The Arctis 9X can connect to your PC via Bluetooth or an Xbox Wireless dongle (sold separately) but will not be able to use ChatMix.
