The inside of the cabins seemed to look really, really good. But let's be honest, the outside look just sucks. The new designers who were in charge of all these redesigns really don't know what they're doing. Their not in touch withwhatDisney is.
The placement of the TV in the living room baffles me. How are you supposed to sit on the couch and watch it with it on the side wall like that
Thank you! I have been pointing this out to everyone. Poor, lazy design. 👎🏾
I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days and you know God loves us so much!.....So where are you originally from? I am David originally from Spain but currently living in Texas now....
I liked the old cabins better. This decision to change them was just so barbaric. This looks NOTHING like Fort Wilderness. FW’s cabins are supposed to be made like log cabins, because it’s part of the wilderness! Not with stupidly mediocre theming like this! Though I like the River Country references, it doesn’t save this from failure. This was one of my favorite resorts alongside Kidani Village and Riviera. I hope you’re happy, Disney.
My family loves staying at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness every summer. Unfortunately, I'm not loving the look and feel of these new ones ☹️
I love the rustic, wooden design of the "old" cabins. I don't stay at fort wilderness for a "modern" experience, in fact we stay there to get away from that.
These new cabins remind me of shipping containers.
The outside of these "cabins" look exactly like the Chase bank down my street and the Marriott in my hometown. I wish they stayed cabin look and not tiny homes. The details inside are cool though. They will be out of my price range when they become DVC though, also sad.
Massive disappointment.
I really love the details. But these "cabins" are not it. They look like sheds at Lowes. Very plain design, doesn't look like a cabin at all, and the rustic woodsy feel is gone. It has no Fort Wilderness charm to it. Plain white walls everywhere instead of the wood slats they have now. Also instead of log cabins we get modern mobile homes. Definitely not worth DVC points. Also, it would be nice if we could actually rent boats at the resort instead of having to drive to another resort! If you don't have a car you have to take a ferry to Magic Kingdom then the monorail to Contemporary or Grand Floridian. Not fun at all.
Valid comment
Exactly. Lacks the same level of theming one would expect at FW.
my friends said it looks like a glorified trailer park...
*friend
The outside looks like a 1990s elementary school.
Inside is cute outside looks like a storage shed. Disney you seem to have lost your ability to theme. You degrade the campgrounds with your new cabins and the wasteland you created next to the outpost shows lack of vision. You are eating the very product that made you great. So sad and disappointing.
Yay, more re-theming no one asked for! Y'all are so out of touched.
By the way, the outside of these cabins look like upgraded storage containers. And no more private door to the balcony in the master bedroom.
And they should have moved the bunk beds into a private nook. We never stayed there growing up because our parents always had to have their own private room even at hotels and onboard ships. They actually liked each other LOL.
Add faux logs on the exterior- and - boom- cabin and easy fix
I do feel like a lot of folks overlook the new designs of some resort hotel rooms on property.. there's a lot of hidden little facts and gems but sadly, feel's like Disney never states what these are.. Glad Disney took the initiative in explaining in depth what items are in the rooms are displaying.
I wish they would have kept the old layout. I don't get why the living room is right outside the bedroom. The old cabins had the bathroom and kitchen separating the bedroom and living room. Now the tv is literally on the other side of the wall of the bedroom. Doesn't make much sense if someone is trying to sleep but someone else wants to hang out in the living room.
I agree with you 💯.
And they should have taken the opportunity to move the bunk beds into their own private nook. Growing up, we never stayed there because our parents had to always have their own private room. They actually liked each other LOL!
We used to grab some food from P&J's (Now Trails End) and rent a pontoon and eat our lunch out on the lake. You can't do that anymore.
So much of the charm and serendipity that made a Disney vacation worth the splurge has been monetized and/or removed.
5 generations of Disney fans-from the opening of Disneyland, through recessions and good times, we’ve been loyal but we unanimously voted to start going elsewhere after our last January trip.
But honestly? They don’t need us. And apparently, they don’t need anyone as long as they have Vanguard and BlackRock. 😢
Been to Fort Wilderness all my life, and I'm kind of mixed on the new "cabins" if you can even call them cabins. They feel more like tiny homes, and I'm not sure if only some, half, or all of the cabins we've known for years are being replaced by these.
OMG I just realized that Chip made an appearance in Disney’s American legends in the segment Johnny Appleseed
Love the Fort. But these crazy expensive annual maintenance fees ensure buying elsewhere and booking here. Point chart is great though. I’m excited about themed bed runners returning, magical express, and the cinderella dream lights. Those will distract me enough from Epic Universe. Thank you.
"cabins"
Looks like a shipping container…are they sponsored by Smalls Sliders?
Let’s go stay in a log cabin that does not resemble a log cabin. 🤣😂🤣
I wish they had one in California
Buy DVC at a minimum of 21k so you can stay in a soulless shipping container that replaced one of the most affordable lodging options on property!!!
I just love everything about this new design for the cabins there! Can't wait to book this!🤗🤗
great videos. Can't wait to get there!!
I wish I was rich. I cant even afford to stay at a Dis campground. And I am not poor. Just not rich..
I agree. I think a Disney vacation is out of reach for most families.
What are y’all doing with the old cabins?
Not a fan of the way it looks on the outside. Also, timeshares are terrible, even Mickey Mouse ones.
*what is it with new age imagineers making non-value resorts ip dumps?*
on the nose cartoony or copy paste play house that isn’t what deluxe nor moderates (outside of specially themed princess/pirate rooms) were made previously
It’s not fair to blame the imagineers. They are basically contracted out to Disney now. They do as told rather than do as inspired.
At these prices canoe rentals should be included in the cost. Especially since it costs over $65 a day for a golf cart rental.
Needs 2 bathrooms!!
And it’s on Disney sing along beach party
I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days and you know God loves us so much!.....So where are you originally from? I am David originally from Spain but currently living in Texas now....
The inside is nice, the outside not so much. Looks like a shed that was dumped in the forest.
The inside looks like a Value Resort, with a few “details”. 🤨
Love the cabins
What a great video!
The inside is great, but the outside needs to look like a log cabin. It's the wilderness for cryin' out loud.
I wish I was rich
These look so bad on the outside
I'll never be able to stay in the cabins again. What was expensive in the first place is going to be even more money now. Btw The design sucks
I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days and you know God loves us so much!.....So where are you originally from? I am David originally from Spain but currently living in Texas now....
It’s bad, the old cabins were great, but way to bland
Looks like a trailer park. Not at all going with the theme of the resort...
I don't like that I have to walk through the kitchen & living room to get to the bathroom. This makes 0 sense!
Better than expected, but not great. Looks like generic corporate minimalism with a mixture of nice and cheap details trying to "disney-fy" it. Just like the incredibles rooms at contemporary. Whoever is driving this design direction needs to be replaced.
Hey! Your comment reminded me of Bright Sun Films, they did a video on the Incredibles room at Contemporary. I have to agree, it all feels too minimalist and what made the cabins great feels like it's gone now in favor of modernism. Whoever is designing these new cabins are clearly wanting to replace rustic and nostalgic with modern and corporate.
I liked the actual "log cabin" you could stay in at the old ones. These look like modern hotel rooms that were merely inspired by a camping trip. Sorry Disney, these are a thumbs down.
Very bad move on Disney’s part with these renovations. Like others have said, these do not represent “wilderness”. I’m all for modernization, but we don’t stay in a FW cabin for this level of modernization.
This looks so bland.. never had a chance to experience the rustic cabins, I guess I never will..😞
Uh, these are not cabins. This is Fort Wilderness, which is supposed to present a theme of the old west. Who is the idiot that turned the cabins into whatever this is. What's next, change the name of Fort Wilderness to Trailer Park Wilderness. Magic is gone!
Ruined the charm of the cabins. :(
I love Fort Wilderness. This looks like a storage container. I'm sad this is what I'll have to look at while camping. Thumbs down Disney, thumbs down.
I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days and you know God loves us so much!.....So where are you originally from? I am David originally from Spain but currently living in Texas now....
Would being a Disney vacation club member save me any money?
I am a DVC club member and I LOVE IT!! It has paid for itself but remember you are staying at deluxe resorts for the most part. In the long run it is cheaper if you enjoy staying in that type of accommodations. I do not regret being a DVC member or investing in it.
