👩⚕️Okay, so the most common scenario I get asked questions about is when people are getting married and also planning for a baby. You may have a nice apartment or house and you’ve wanted a dog so bad together, but now you also are planning for a human baby too... in this video I give you a time line scenario of how to plan it all out to have your dream dog and baby too! This is my personal opinion about getting a puppy vs having a baby first!

We closed on our new home in December and got our first Golden Retriever puppy in January and got pregnant in February. This was 31 years ago! We have had 3 kids and 6 Goldens (some Goldens overlapping) The Goldens had been an important part of our family.

My wife and I got a puppy back in July of 2023, and we are having a baby girl around her due date of Feb. 18th 2024. The puppy will be a little over 9 months at this stage. We've trained him fairly well, but he definitely still has some puppy craziness. One move we wanted to do to help things is to have him neutered before the baby arrives, so he is actually getting neutered today which is January the 22nd. Thank you for your videos! I watched your video on 5 tips for your dog after getting neutered before I watched this one. The biggest thing that we've seen that makes the most difference in our puppies behavior and obedience is that he has had enough exercise through playing or going on walks. If he hasn't been able to get his wiggles out, then it's hard to blame him for being extra crazy in the house. We have a Miniature Schnauzer by the way. We had a Miniature Rat Terrier for 12 years before we had to put him down. Thanks again!

My Bella is a Havamalt and is 1 year and two months old and she still chews on everything. I try to get her to stop but she doesn’t. So I just give her a chew bone and she stopped chewing on everything 😅 I would highly recommend getting a Havamalt puppy they are very smart. They are easily trainable. They learn very quickly. They do like to play a lot they do have high separation anxiety so I would think about that before you get one, but they are the most sweetest, loving, beautiful little animals. I’ve had all kind of animals I’ve had Chihuahuas I’ve had labradors I’ve had German shepherds I’ve had wolf hybrids, and I love my German shepherds, to death, and I love my labradors and my Chihuahuas, but this have a Havamalt that I have now she is very clingy to me. She’s small enough now that I can handle her because I have a catheter in my chest. I am on dialysis so I can easily pick her up and she knows that I’m not healthy but she sees through and she loves me I swear I don’t know what I would do without her she gets me through a lot of my tough times. She truly is my best friend.
