Same! Its insanely comfortable, perhaps we should come home perhaps humans as we know ourselves weren't supposed to live a life like we do. This is what we were and still are and should return to.
That's because that balance is natural. It's not about feminism or masculinity. It's about spending time with each other and treat one another with equal respect.
Well, because it's not Christian culture. So men were never put over women as being somehow more important. CHRISTIANITY CREATED/CREATES WEAK WOMEN. Also, it's not that hard to understand. LOGICALLY men need women and women need men, without each other, we can't make babies, and we all die.
Alright, I'll give credit where it's due then. Good job humans. Good job *most* of us. Let's not delude ourselves into thinking that somehow religion, especially one that's got a message in the revised, newer, more politically correct version that talks about how you shouldn't throw stones at a woman because you ain't shit either, was what brought a lot of us over the rational thinking that maybe, women are humans too.
I think this is the first time in my life when I'm taking anything neo-pagan related seriously. When the rest of the bands at Castlefest look just like performers on a stage... The Heilung tribe looks like they are just crawled out of the longhouse after the village elders meeting ended.
Gates.. . . They thought us dead, Gone, forgotten.. . . .. . ..but from The Forest we walk, To rise again as wardens of The Green, planting our bare feet firmly in the ground once more, calling to the inner flame of our ancestors.. . . The light, from an ember, burning anew.
Yes. And that has a reason. The looks, song texts and instruments are inspired by actual historic artefacts - and from tribes where some of the culture survived until today like the Sámi people in Scandinvia or artic tribes in the North of Russia. A lot of the Neo Pagan actual copy Hollywood style druides and put in philosophy of there own. So the texts are inspired for example from artefacts, with written chants or similar - also from the antic Roman reports about the Germanic tribes and the further north. There do not put there own religious and political opinions in it but use actual sources and try to get some of the sounds back as far they can get reconstructed - but of course with a mordern interpretation. So you can take them seriuously as they really try to implement a kind of experimental archeology in music. So they were put in the Neo-folk or Neo-pagan camp but they self label their music as amplified history.
From Lakota Nation, we send much love and admire your art. We have similar cultures in ancient ways and wish you the best of luck. Thank you again for your art; it is good medicine.
"Remember, that we all are brothers All people, beasts, trees and stone and wind We all descend from the one great being That was always there Before people lived and named it Before the first seed sprouted" ...(this is from the opening ceremony of Heilung)
On the rez Pine Ridge, we call this being Wakan Tanka, in Saxton, it translates to "the Great Mystery", though westerners will also say "the holy one, divine being", etc as we are also victim of those who used the cross in gross means that contradict its essence. Indeed the stones and leaves are our cousins and every being, be they grass, sun, water, deer, bird, wind, ape, or newly discovered peoples hidden deep in forests, we are kin and should be respected more than in the current state of things. I long for the old ways. While Danes are not known for peaceful meeting of peoples in history as Native Americans are, we share a similar aesthetic, code of honor and trust, music, and general respect for our tribes' members as a family as well as our surroundings. Granted, my mother is Oglala Lakota oyate and my father of Irish druid line, I find myself drawn and almost addicted to your sounds. I can not thank you enough for your art. Best of luck to your crew and again, thank you so much for doing what you do. Du skal nog få kärligheden at föle.
Troy Iktomi-Coots Greetings and blessings from this American Swede. Russell Means is a great inspiration to me, and I've learned so much from your brothers and sisters on the west coast. It's been a true blessing to have them help me connect with my ancestors since I am around the world from my native lands.
Soil is a substance that transcends national and governmental boundaries. We can draw lines in soil and sand but our mother and father erases this line at their whim. An artist realizes this in their craft and will communicate this without addressing the subject right out. It is our obligation to supply these textures and abstract messages so others will figure these things out for themselves. You do a wonderful job at this by just being and having a team of one mind who produces such soil in which sprouts individual ideas that are part of the universal mind. I know I've thanked you a lot for your art and that it is impossible for one to thank enough without being creepy or something, but still, there are few words in any language that can relay my thanks and many many others' for your art; this is what we need right now as divided as we are. A solidified message is as dividing as Nietzsche's dragon scales so having a voice or art that has a great deal of ambiguity is much more likely to impact a curious mind and perhaps a greater tool (that we medicine men and artists alike) can use to break the power hungry masters and bring ash to tables clad in spoils. Thank you again and best of luck.
Holy hell, when Maria started singing her solo, and the warriors joined her, I got goosebumps that lasted an entire minute. I've never seen or heard anything like this. You are all very talented people!
They came up in the recommended videos when I was watching Nightwish. I'd heard their name before but had no idea what their style of music was like. Clicked on the recommended video, watched a couple different ones and am currently watching the full Lifa concert. I want to see them live. That would be a beautiful, spiritual experience. Sadly, the only U.S. show for their tour is in Colorado (I live on the east coast) and $450 for a ticket so it looks like I won't see them this year
I joined a Viking reenactment group this year in the UK, just a shame a month later lockdown happened!! Can't wait until we start back up again. Been listening to Heilung for a few years and absolutely love their music!!.
I'm Peruvian, my roots are far away from everyone on the comments and yet I feel like them, the lyrics and the melody make my bones vibrate and my heart pump like crazy. Everytime I listen to Heilung I can sense how they touch my soul, I don’t understand how but I suddenly feel the urge to scape to a forest so I can breathe the clean air and sit on the dirt enjoying the sounds of the nature and the essence of life. Omg… I need to escape from my country.
Remember that we all are brothers! alot of ritual tribal music has similarities all over the globe from different cultures. cause at one point we were all one in africa long long ago. so that it even stirs in you is perfectly understandable.
My wife is Mongolian, this reminds me of the tribal music she has played me...... I feel that the old world is way more connected than what the establishment is letting us believe........
Who do you think created her ancestor's culture? The Scythians; the ancestors of the Nordic people. Whites ruled Midgard thousands of years ago and they are still running through your wife's veins. She should embrace her ancestors, and so should you.
@Lethean Scythians are not Persians, they are just Scythians. Indo-Europeanic assume of their identity is a pre-acceptance to confirm Indo-Aryanic distribution in Europe and Asia. Kiengiras people (That was what they call themselves) of Mesopotamia is the ancestors of the Scythians, which we call them Sumerians according to Arabic sources. Name of the Kiengiras coming from 'Kiengir' the Suvarians (which migrated to Grand Tartaria which we call Siberia nowadays and related with the name of Sumerians) and 'As' people (As-gard comes from it, qar/qol means branch/arm in Altaic Language) was living in Anatolia or North of Caucasus which Herodotos or Klaudius Ptolemaios named these places as Turcae/Iurcae(probably 'T' letter were obliterated through times) Name of the Asia comes from the As people. Because the Greeks only and ever neighbour of them was As-related Hittites, Lydians and Trakians. Odin's Journey starts on Turkkaland and goes through Saaksland(Saka means Scythians/Iskit) and in Heimskringla Sturrlusson mentions about great mountains that splits Great Swithiod (Russia/Byelorussia) from other nations and south of it is not far from the place that Odin's wealths and properties preserved . We can assume that mountains that splits Swithiod from other nations are Caucasus Mountains and the place he mentions is Azerbaijan(modern name) which is not far from Asia minor nor Turcae( modernly Southwest of Russia and east of Ukraini) . Sturrlusson calls it, Turkkaland. So it is a definitely a saga and not the reason of migration of As people to cold and not so fertile lands of North Europe. Sturrlusson mentions in Heimskringla about Romans that expanded everywhere and make everyone kneel before them but probably he is not talking about the Romans but Alexander, Macedonian Emperor himself. Greeks were calling themselves Romaoi(Greeks) in the time of Sturlusson which means 11th century, the time when Sagas about Odin and his journey written in papers. This comment has become too long, If you are interested I can write another couple things about it and advise sources about the origin of the Normans. Do not be confused about modern Turkey and ancestral Turks. Of course they are related but modern Turks have been mixed with Arabians and Iranics and Islamized. So there are nothing so much in common. But Magyars/Hungarians and Kipchaks/Kyrgyz-Kazakh-Saka people in Russia is slightly more related with Nordics. But I only wonder about why Turks are speaking a Altaic language but Nordics speaks an Indo-Europeanic language. This is the only answer i do not have satisfying.
@Lethean Naming of Iran is not like that quitely. Everyone in the Asia (includes persians, too) was calling them "Acem" or "Fars". When the Aryanism in Europe gone popular Padishah of Persia changed their international name to Iran to be accepted by Nazis. Alas, they were not considered to be Aryan by Germany furthermore Turkey considered as one. And as i said before: Accepting Scythians as Iranian people is a pre-acceptence to confirm Indo-European distrubition in Eurasia. No one can explain unity of Indo-Aryans when another race group literally slices your bonds with your other half. But that is the history. A Scythian Prince in Issyk Kurgan found in Kazakhstan which lived in 5th century BC. There is a writing on this sepulcher which if you read this as Indo-Iranian structure and nearly words it will be "This bowl (has?) grape wine, baked food and fresh butter, so much, deadly?" and if you read this in Altaic structure and nearly words "Brother here is Furnace (for you), make the foreigners kneel (before you), our nation (must be) plentiful!" according to Amanjalov. You can choose which one is more meaningful and makes sense. In summary: Scythians are not Indo-Iranian people.
Ali İskender Kardeşoğlu Александр Кардашев The “Altaic” language family is largely disowned by linguists. There’s no positive evidence to support the existence of an Altaic ancestor language, just some correlations in other languages. It’s a euro-centric attempt to connect successful cultures outside of Europe with a European ancestry.
I am a Slav, and your Neighbor, hello from what thou know as Pommern. And I want to say one thing, we are all brothers and sisters, blessed by sun, fire, and steel. Heil Nords, Hail Celts, Heil Germania, Heil Gotia, Slava Slovianom, Cliù na h-Alba an tha glòir na h-Eòrpa WE ARE ALL ONE
After reading so many of these comments, I can only say...you are my people. :) I am glad to be part of those who hear and love every note they play, sing...every movement, every expression.
Lyrics from 03.31 is the battle cry in Old Norse: heilir hildar til, heilir hildi frá, koma þeir heilir hvaðan. English: Whole to the field of fight, Whole from the field of fight, And whole they come thence home. Source: Havamál 156
i belive it is more a blessing than a battlecry. you see she blesses the men, while the man is standing in and algir pose, the rune. for life. what do you think
Sorlendingen82 it is both, actually. The lyrics i quoted are part of a 'galdr', which roughly means 'spell' or 'chant'. Above lyrics are a 'krigsgaldr' (coincidentally the title of another song of Heilung) so literally translated a 'battle chant or spell'. It was used to inspire courage for the warriors and fear in their enemies.
It was awesome. It's not just a concert - it's a ritual. It's not just songs, it's spells that connect us to our ancestors and our land. Thank you, Skalds. You are a real miracle. I did not even know that modern era give rise to such miracles as the Heilung group.
Agreed. I have practiced in secret for years. The Blota is not really accepted in the modern military pantheon. This group gives me someone to do the chants while I gear up and prepare to go practice my religion and earn my place in Valhalla.
Othan lyrics: [Hariuha laþu laukar gakar alu ole lule laukar] Þat kann ek it ellifta: ef ek skal til orrostu leiða langvini, und randir ek gel, en þeir með ríki fara heilir hildar til, heilir hildi frá, koma þeir heilir hvaðan. Þat kann ek it fimmta: ef ek sé af fári skotinn flein í folki vaða, fýgr-a hann svá stinnt, at ek stöðvig-a-k, ef ek hann sjónum of sék. Odin translation: [Hariuha laþu laukar gakar alu ole lule laukar] An eleventh I know, if needs I must lead To the fight my long-loved friends; I sing in the shields, and in strength they go Whole to the field of fight, Whole from the field of fight, And whole they come thence home. A fifth I know, If I see from afar An arrow fly 'gainst the folk; It flies not so swift That I stop it not, If ever my eyes behold it. Credits to Tribe Benjamin, Sciera and Birmm (lyrics translate)
I saw Heilung in Glasgow in November, what a performance this song nearly had me in tears because I now get it. To be standing less than 10 feet away from kai and Maria and to feel the vibe from stage to audience was an honour. Sköl.
That was the energy from your ancestors, not the kindred on stage. You were feeling your ancestors powers flowing through your veins. They were speaking to you.
Heilung .Healing..Their Rituals ( concerts) have helped many people reach that " reset point" we all need to remember our place and purpose in life. There is strong magic in these songs. They have helped me organize my mind from turmoil and chaos due to past traumatic events and mental anguish to being able to focus on what really matters and to finally escape from severe depression and anxiety. Thank you Kai, Christopher and Maria, thank you to all the members and Warriors of Heilung.
It took me a little while into the show to understand that we're not watching a band play songs.... but watching a live ritual that they're sharing with us and we became part of. Gratitude
Lemme tell ya this was absolutely insane live, everyone should see Heilung live AT LEAST once otherwise you’re truly missing out on a once in a lifetime experience
They've been awake. Just waiting, slowly puting plans in motion. Waiting patently for so long. Now the next step arises. Its time for the old soles to remember, to bring back what was lost and forgotten.
Lyrics from 1:52 are possibly "Hariuha laþu laukar gakar alu". "Hariuha" appears in old runic inscriptions and is probably a name. "laþu laukaR. gakaR alu" is an inscription from Schonen Bracteate-1, interpreted as "evocation Laukaz. cuckoo magic". Laukaz is the l-rune, and used as a symbol of fertility. Lyrics from 3:00 is Hávamál 156: Þat kann ek it ellifta: ef ek skal til orrostu leiða langvini, und randir ek gel, en þeir með ríki fara heilir hildar til, heilir hildi frá, koma þeir heilir hvaðan. Ahh, thank you SO much! I've been looking for the text for... a month now? This song has not left my mind since I've heard it for the first time. It filled a hole in my soul.
Laukar is a dialect word to this day in Norway, it means onions. Allium Victorialis, the Victory Onion, held magical and religious significance among all germanic peoples between Norway and the Alps. It was rubbed on armour, swords and shields, planted around houses and worn as a talisman of protection. IMO, that is the laukar in question. It's a invocation of protection.
This is transcendental, and I believe it NEVER will be an overstatement being the umpteenth person on here rephrasing that this music takes a person's essence, soul, energy, spirit, etc. onto another plane of existence, connects them to their ancestors, or taps into something primal, ancient, past-life-oriented, etc.
The music calls us to our heritage... our ancestors. I am Celtic/Viking and this music is sacred to us. It stirs our hearts and our souls. It calls us to our culture, traditions, language and spirituality. I hope this finds you well and helps you on your path.
You are spot on as this is so ancient and real medicine. They are clearly performing a ceremony on stage and eliciting a none ordinary state of consciousness in the listeners.
I've found a new addiction in your music. I'm a performer from the UK. I'm also a Druid and I've always wanted to create something like this using our stories and ancient traditions. You are truly inspirational.
YES!.....Greg. we need a Cad Goddeu / War of the Trees given this level of depth and sonic soul slap. Something a bit more earthy than the 3 guys down the pub on folk night. ;) P.S. my real name is Moss...i AM the Earth which laid down for the roots of the Tree to grow. :D
Hey Greg. My mother is Oglala Lakota (Native American of what this country calls "Sioux") and my father is from Ireland from an old tribe who has kept the old ways predating the cross. This strikes me in both lineages as a call to a sort of peace among traditions and familial tribal unity. In Lakota nation, we use similar drum patterns and use garb that dates back over 20,000 years of tradition, or at least 13,000 years since the language was created, and for similar purposes. My father has held a family tradition centuries old that has Druid origins, so the combination of these esthetics somehow drew me to this band as well. I've spread word on Pine Ridge and even our elders enjoy and appreciate a link to the old ways before the cross and are thrilled that, even from another nation, artists are diving into the old. It seems possible by delving into our ancient past, no matter which of the spices of people, helps educate how things once were without perversion of political or religious bias. This is most important in these times, however, I feel people are more inclined to appreciate the art for what it is. I too am become addicted to these sounds and I look forward to hearing what you can come up with in the future knowing you also are influenced. Hoka hey, kola, tohki wanaphika ni.
Troy Iktomi-Coots I'm so glad you've shared this with your elders! I've sat down with a few Native elders in Northern CA and shared with them the stories of my Swedish ancestors and how similar our stories are. We all agreed that our ancestors would have recognized one another. We all come from hunter gatherers, worshipers of Nature. Our ancestors all used similar tools, similar methods of procuring foods, had similar means of honoring the Earth, the Sky, and all our living relatives. It's time to bridge the gap, come together, and realize differences are not genetic, but in mindset. We need to come together and heal humanity from it's folly and conceit.
I could not agree more cousin. The base of our experience is rooted in our surroundings. We grow from the experience of our roots and to reverse this is to decay, starting a process all over again and this is not growth in any linear terms. Our "primitive" roots seem at times to have more sense than our current branches though it is worth noting we have still come a long way to support other trees on this turtle to flourish. Respecting our surroundings means respecting its inhabitants and the resources that support them. In supporting arts at our root, no matter what corner of this sphere these roots call home, we can see more of this intercontinental relationship and potentially recognize differences in which we could, hopefully, one day appreciate and embrace while still giving space for these differences to thrive. I see the clouds as one canopy in the skies we breath in this sense and offer this reality in the decades to come.
Even when I don't have any nordic nationality I feel really moved by this music, it's like a feeling in my heart, like it was a kind of a call from my ancestors. So much inspiring...
This isnt nordic its just truth of life we all come from the one great spirit the birds to the fish to you and me even the roots of a tree to the dirt under are feet everything comes from one so just share the love be true be love the most true thing.
The Jokebrandt yes, for example, hunters and gatherers (not agriculturalists) respect our fellow Earth sentient beings, the deer, elk, bear, wolf, wild ox, even boar.
@Addison Aubrey that's how Maria, Kai and Chris started! I read someones take on how powerfully people are moved by Heilung - 'the Old Gods never went away - they've been waiting for us to remember them' ❤️
I woke up a few years ago from an intense dream.... the dream faded fast but I was able to keep hold of one thing... and that was that 9 is incredibly important. I am a musician so I am always counting. This song pulls at me from a lot of directions. This song may sound simple to most people but there is a lot going on here. This is true magic.
Hello from Greece. I love when people are proud of their roots and never forget them. Especially in those degenerate times we live in... Great job folks!
@Kurt Vinlander This is some absolute communist bullshit. Do not try to combine your communist "oneness, world tree" nonsense in with racial paganism! We are *NOT* all one and we did *NOT* come from the same world tree. You subvert people when you talk about capitalism. It wasn't capitalism that ruined paganism, it was people like you combined with the Abrahamic religions.
I've found a new addiction in your music. I'm a performer from the UK. I'm also a Druid and I've always wanted to create something like this using our stories and ancient traditions. You are truly inspirational.
Heilung is so healing... I can't stop listening to them, their music is pure soul, if you feel it, it pulles you into total meditation and relaxation. Takes me back to my ancestors, in my mind I just find myself dancing in the forest barefeet, under the moonlight, around a bonfire... 💜🙏
it makes me cry from how powerful every single song is. it speaks to parts of you you have never touched before its so fucking crazy, this band is too fucking underrated
Even though this is modern, it evokes what feels like a past life experience as I lay down and close my eyes. I have half Danish blood and love connecting to my roots. Thank you from my soul🙏
Best part of this song/ritual/trip back to pre-christian europe is from 2:57-6 minutes. A tree without roots cannot stand. Seek the roots and it will make you so much stronger. We men must learn something from this, if you do not understand, watch more nature programs and spend more time away from the destructive citys.
@Ben Mokriš Song: Hamrer Hippyer 6.40 Minutes into the song untill 9.40. "REE RAN DAN DAN DAN DAN" x 80 times singing. ua-cam.com/video/hNu6FmaUIB0/v-deo.html
"Also in the northern parts of of Britain, that is, beyond the Humber and around York, the people who inhabit these parts use a similar kind of singing in symphonic harmony [i.e., based on the symphoniae or concords]: but with a variety of only two distinct melodies and parts, one murmuring below, the other equally soothing and charming the ear above. Yet in both nations this special style has been acquired not by studied art but by long usage, so that it has now become as it were a habit of second nature. And this has now become so strong in either nation, and taken such firm roots, that one never hears simple singing, but either with many voices as in the former [Wales], or nevertheless at least two as in the latter [northern England]. And what is yet more marvellous: even children, and indeed infants, almost from when they first turn from tears to songs, follow the same fashion of singing. Since the English do not generally use this manner of singing, but only the northerners, I believe that it is from the Danes and Norwegians, who often used to occupy these parts of the island and were wont to hold them for long periods of time, that the inhabitants have acquired likewise their affinities of speech and their special manner of singing (Robinson and Parrish)."
They practice this because for a long.time, the North of Britain especially till the coming of Christianity was brimming with Celtic and Druidic influence, the more north u went, the more primitive and Celtic it got, eventhough most of them hAve been converted, there are those who still practice the Old druidic rituals in the UK especially in Scotland and wales
From clear across earth, Maui HI, there is connection here. Whether past lives or what ever possible, in my gut there is a connection. The most pure feeling that I almost don’t recognize. Very bizarre, but the human body knows, when it knows. ❤
I am proud of my ancestry. I am proud my heritage. I am proud of my bloodline. I am proud to be part Danish, part Germanic. And I am proud to watch this commemoration of my legacy. Heilung.... You heal me. You make me whole again.
This is so epic! How the warriors protect the priestess, how they kneel down to show honor and how they rise up with their shields in the air! So Epic!
I watch all your music . thats all i can do for im deaf. But beleve it or not i can hear your voices but not with my ears. Only a deaf person knows what i mean.
I am not deaf but I think I know what you are getting at. I have experienced synesthaesia in my life, and I expect you are "listening" synaesthetically, which is a real thing. Your brain is taking the visual data and sending it to your auditory cortex for processing, bypassing your ears, you will not be hearing it as accurately as a hearing person because of some visual corruption of the data, but it will, never the less be quite accurate. If you are not already doing so, play it through quality speakers, and feel the kinaestetic vibration, so that you have two sources of data to inform your auditory cortex. You will then have a much more complete and accurate experience.
I love they're music it touches my soul awakens something deep within me that I cannot explain it definitely is healing, no one else around here understands, but then they have closed minds anyway, and I really don't care what they think. My life has and is full of pain this helps me get through it, and I thank you
Heilung, your works have been the most powerful experience i have ever witnessed. please tour in the united states and do this same thing at some festival, come to the northwest. you are helping change my experience of this realm. this culture, this vibe, this atmosphere is what i want in my life. i wish you be a part of it. thank you.
Just discovered them recently and I can’t stop listening to them. I don’t even care if I can’t understand them the music is amazing and feels so authentic and rich with history. I’ve been listening to them in the gym. Makes me feel like I’m going to war!
Saw Heilung in London in November 2019, what a show they put on!. Was so in the 'zone' that I felt I was being called home to great halls of Valhalla!!. Will be going again when they next tour the UK!!.
I have never had a song that made me feel this way. I cried when they played it last night in Portland. it was my first time hearing it. it is so moving and powerful. I left the show a different person.
Indeed! I have liked DCD for 20 years now. I also liked a lot of the neo-folk, ritualistic, tribal music I experienced as a fan of darker, more underground kind of music. Especially this song reminds me a lot of DCD. In a good way.
I kind of forgot about these guys because it's not a share love among the household. I've spent almost 2 hours clicking around watching these live performances and every single song has bought me to tears.
Can you imagine getting up on stage, capable of singing that with warriors at your back in those costumes? That must feel amazing. Its pure power. This captured my attention completely, ran the gamut of emotions and I'm not even sure what its about. They are the absolute pinnacle of the connection music has to the mind and soul. I give them the highest praise I possibly can, which I don't even know how to express in words. Its indescribably good. Perfection.
You can actually sign up as a "warrior" and be up there on with stage with them with shields and spears. You just have to be selected first and then pass all the steps that they throw at you haha...
I like how each rock band goes for a modern look according to the year but they go to their ancestral shaman roots which makes them more interesting to listen to and watch
After hearing songs like this one and Maidjan, it puts into perspective why people feel so lost today. They don't have a strong sense of purpose driving them like the elder generations had before us through religions and beliefs. It is a blessing to be freed of the often arbitrary rules that got put forth by institutions, but being without a stringent set of rules for life, it's equally a curse to society due to the masses of people that can't forge a meaning of their own, sufficient enough to replace things such as these rituals. I have a profound appreciation for religions/cultures that have and continue to seek a brighter tomorrow. I'm equally disappointed by their failings, however it seems to have come to a net positive given the relative peace we have today. As much as it takes away from the message, I'd love to see rough english translated subtitles. Anyways, I'm droning on here. Great Job Heilung.
I know what you mean. I love this brilliantly performed spectacle, but it leaves me wondering, and feeling a kind of lack, as to how in the 21century I/we can acknowledge and feel our deep connections with our ancestors, genetic and evolutionary history, our place in the universe etc. The Church of England just doesn't do it for me!
This is something deeper than just music. It's connecting with who you are and where you come from. This has ancient roots as deep as Yggdrasil. HAIL WOOTAN!
shoutout to the growling vocals, those are DOPE - but holy shit, the stamina to do those background harmonies that start around 7:06 for three full minutes? insane breath control
We are Beings that step into a corpse for 80 to 100yrs then step out again and keep on going. Experiences like this make me so glad I was on this journey. Peace
I just saw this band live 1/22/2020 and they blew my mind. It was an out of body experience that will be with me always. Thank you Heilung for performing here in Silver Springs Maryland. Please come back soon!!!! Much love to you Maria!!!!
Maria has the voice of an angel and the look of a Dark Souls boss.

yes :)

@@finchwaddledog5026 Well, yea... duh.
Aaaaaand I am now addicted to Heilung.

F#cking Ditto!!! My new favorite band!!!
Welcome brother.
I think this is the first time in my life when I'm taking anything neo-pagan related seriously. When the rest of the bands at Castlefest look just like performers on a stage... The Heilung tribe looks like they are just crawled out of the longhouse after the village elders meeting ended.
Birm Forreal!!! Thought the same! Love it
Gates.. . .
They thought us dead,
Gone,
forgotten.. . .
.. . ..but from The Forest we walk,
To rise again as wardens of The Green,
planting our bare feet firmly in the ground once more,
calling to the inner flame of our ancestors.. .
So true, can't wait for more of their creations and I hope they inspire other people to do similar projects!
Gates of Gergovia name a culture that does not.
Respect and greetings to the great Lakota nation
Holy hell, when Maria started singing her solo, and the warriors joined her, I got goosebumps that lasted an entire minute. I've never seen or heard anything like this. You are all very talented people!
Indeed, this band is my discovery of the year. Awesome! :)
My goosebumps lasted for 3 months
That feeling is from your ancestors calling out to you from within your DNA.

Goosebumps and bliss and connection with ancestors - and all humans of the past and present too! LOVE THIS!
Anyone else come across these videos in their recommended list, watched it because it seemed strange as hell...and now can't stop watching them?
Me me me!!!
over a year, listen every day
It´s cause you listen to real sounds
They came up in the recommended videos when I was watching Nightwish. I'd heard their name before but had no idea what their style of music was like. Clicked on the recommended video, watched a couple different ones and am currently watching the full Lifa concert. I want to see them live. That would be a beautiful, spiritual experience. Sadly, the only U.S. show for their tour is in Colorado (I live on the east coast) and $450 for a ticket so it looks like I won't see them this year
Me! I'm hooked! This is the most metal thing I've ever seen
I've been a drummer, jazz trained, for 26 years, what they do is not easy.
For some its natural
what you do isn't easy. their beauty lies in their simplicity.
It's easy for any competent drummer what do you mean
9/4 vocals and synth, polyrythm drums.
What they do is basically a musical version of experimental archaeology. Definitely not easy at all.
I'm a viking reenactor. This moved me to tears. Woke something deep in my soul. I feel more connected to my ancestors. Thank you for this

Who do you think created her ancestor's culture? The Scythians; the ancestors of the Nordic people. Whites ruled Midgard thousands of years ago and they are still running through your wife's veins. She should embrace her ancestors, and so should you.
@@LiZmichelea Scythians themselves were a tribe of ancient Iranians. Piss off with your 'white' ancestry, it's way more than that.
There is a writing on this sepulcher which if you read this as Indo-Iranian structure and nearly words it will be "This bowl (has?) grape wine, baked food and fresh butter, so much, deadly?"
and if you read this in Altaic structure and nearly words "Brother here is Furnace (for you), make the foreigners kneel (before you), our nation (must be) plentiful!" according to Amanjalov.
It’s a euro-centric attempt to connect successful cultures outside of Europe with a European ancestry.

i belive it is more a blessing than a battlecry. you see she blesses the men, while the man is standing in and algir pose, the rune. for life. what do you think
Dietrich Steinwald Skalds? Those are fucking shamans! ;)
Dietrich Steinwald you say what I think it was
Agreed. I have practiced in secret for years. The Blota is not really accepted in the modern military pantheon. This group gives me someone to do the chants while I gear up and prepare to go practice my religion and earn my place in Valhalla.

"laþu laukaR. gakaR alu" is an inscription from Schonen Bracteate-1, interpreted as "evocation Laukaz. cuckoo magic". Laukaz is the l-rune, and used as a symbol of fertility.

Could you tell me what language is that?
Laukar is a dialect word to this day in Norway, it means onions. Allium Victorialis, the Victory Onion, held magical and religious significance among all germanic peoples between Norway and the Alps. It was rubbed on armour, swords and shields, planted around houses and worn as a talisman of protection. IMO, that is the laukar in question. It's a invocation of protection.
I've listened to every single heilung song I can find. I won't stop, it's like pure primal joy every time I hit play.

I hope this finds you well and helps you on your path.
this does something that any music derived from monotheistic relgions could never do, land soul connected!

2:56 Her voice is astounding
I'm in LOVE with Maria's voice. Perfect, beautiful.
You all came up in my "suggested videos"... I'm not disappointed!
the forests are alive with magic and power ..can you feel the magick dancing around you ..the power fills you ...
There are no parts really, they used to be same thing.
Accuser/Opposer true dat!
Skål!
Danish is Germanic
Norse and Germanic aswell, say it with pride, brother.
YOUR MUSIC CHANGED MY LIFE
The best music I've ever heard. You are the best.
Greetings from Russia)
Hail to all European Gods!
Za ROD!
Hail.
Agreed, greetings from Canada
every damn time she sings i get the chills... wtf
Не могу перестать переслушивать это)
Слушаю это снова и снова и снова!
This is so epic! How the warriors protect the priestess, how they kneel down to show honor and how they rise up with their shields in the air! So Epic!
No human being can best Maria´s voice, she is worth of worship, simple beyond words.
The world needs this music.....but I don't think it's ready.
Why does this make me powerful and sorrowful all at once...her voice is so haunting.
I watch all your music . thats all i can do for im deaf. But beleve it or not i can hear your voices but not with my ears. Only a deaf person knows what i mean.
To feel the music isnt that easy with many bands today sad.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing, Bruce. (can you feel vibrations, if you have a loud speaker system?)
Beethoven was deaf when he conducted the 5th symphony... music is meant to be felt not heard..
That sounds fascinating, would you like to explain to me what you feel/experience with this band?
this show is the best thing to ever be filmed in the entirety of human history
Man, this band just blows my mind everytime. You can truly tell they are in it for the art form/their beliefs and not a paycheck. Amazing job.
Heilung is nearly all.i can listen to anymore!
I love they're music it touches my soul awakens something deep within me that I cannot explain it definitely is healing, no one else around here understands, but then they have closed minds anyway, and I really don't care what they think. My life has and is full of pain this helps me get through it, and I thank you
Heilung: my Ancestors speaks to me..deep in my soul i can feel their spirits
Heilung, your works have been the most powerful experience i have ever witnessed. please tour in the united states and do this same thing at some festival, come to the northwest. you are helping change my experience of this realm. this culture, this vibe, this atmosphere is what i want in my life. i wish you be a part of it. thank you.
Heilung in the US this year! Are you stoked?
my goal is to learn the lyrics well enough to sing along at the top of my lungs. love you heilung!
beautiful to tears...
Just discovered them recently and I can’t stop listening to them. I don’t even care if I can’t understand them the music is amazing and feels so authentic and rich with history. I’ve been listening to them in the gym. Makes me feel like I’m going to war!
Some musics are beautiful, some musics have a meaning, some others make your soul travel. Yours is all of that. Thx so much !
Saw Heilung in London in November 2019, what a show they put on!. Was so in the 'zone' that I felt I was being called home to great halls of Valhalla!!. Will be going again when they next tour the UK!!.
This is my favorite song from them because the rhythm sounds like a heartbeat
I have never had a song that made me feel this way. I cried when they played it last night in Portland. it was my first time hearing it. it is so moving and powerful. I left the show a different person.
Reminds me of Dead Can Dance but something deeper than just great music and talent. Check out the fangs on that female Ancient one!
Felt the same. Can't stop listening in the same way I did with DCD. Ritualistic stuff is very strong in these songs.
Indeed! I have liked DCD for 20 years now. I also liked a lot of the neo-folk, ritualistic, tribal music I experienced as a fan of darker, more underground kind of music.
Especially this song reminds me a lot of DCD. In a good way.
the entire composition is beyond incredible. and she sends chills into my soul.
Helene Bøksle and Maria Franz are the 2 ladies with a golden voice to me. It's 2023 now and still listing to those amazing ladies!
Praise be to Odin! Our ancestors are smiling!
Diese Musik hat mich seit sehr langer Zeit zutiefst berührt, die geschundene Seele balsamiert ...
Dankeschön Euch
Wotan was there
he is still.
He always was
Is
If I get through what I am soon to undergo and recover. Seeing Heilung live is at the top of my bucket list.
This is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard
I like how each rock band goes for a modern look according to the year but they go to their ancestral shaman roots which makes them more interesting to listen to and watch
they are the litterall definition of "Fuck the future live the past"
The part where Maria sings and the warriors surround her is so beautiful and powerful. It brought tears to my eyes
In der Tiefe Euer Klänge habe ich heute eine unheimlich wichtige Antwort gefunden ❤️ Von Herzen - Danke 🙏
Utter respect from Alaska. Just absolutely stunning.. I am entranced by this art.
This is something deeper than just music. It's connecting with who you are and where you come from. This has ancient roots as deep as Yggdrasil. HAIL WOOTAN!
The gods are watching and are pleased by this amazing art and act of respect
Maria’s voice- goosebumps!
shoutout to the growling vocals, those are DOPE - but holy shit, the stamina to do those background harmonies that start around 7:06 for three full minutes? insane breath control
Stirs the soul way down deep like it’s bringing me home to somewhere I have been before?
Maria really does have a wonderful voice. So addicted to Heilung now.
Awesome! And the ability to hold a vocalist’s voice causes goosebumps. From thin notes to strong deep
We are Beings that step into a corpse for 80 to 100yrs then step out again and keep on going. Experiences like this make me so glad I was on this journey. Peace
Their music is moving it engulfs the very essence of what the culture is i love it specially the guy with the horns hes great
I just saw this band live 1/22/2020 and they blew my mind. It was an out of body experience that will be with me always. Thank you Heilung for performing here in Silver Springs Maryland. Please come back soon!!!! Much love to you Maria!!!!
By the Gods, this is Divine Perfection.
Maria has the perfect voice, I get goosebumps every time!
