There is really no reason to remove the coolant hose and make all that mess. Also, the compressor heat exchanger does not need to come out fully. Just unplug from the compressor side and push it down. Plenty of clearance.
How my heat exchanger is in the way I can't get to the tensioner if I don't remove it cus it's directly mounted to the engine Edit: also the heat exchanger is impossible to remove cus the bolt below is in such a tight place can't get tool back there
11:16 yes, good point, the belt needs to be higher than the torx bit and not below it, otherwise, like me , you will struggle to fit the belt back on and wonder what the heck is going on!
How do you remove the entire tensioner there aren't any bolts holding it in on this motor. I changed the pulley only and the guy bought a whole new tensioner but I'm not sure how to get the whole tensioner out?
Either its just plausible effect or he has fitted longer belt however not sure how that would impact that since tensioner should just keep tension on it eithee way
Great job, however some of your camera angles are blocked by your hands, so I couldn’t see everything you did. Perhaps two cameras filming simultaneously would help. When your hands would have to block the first camera angle, you could edit the other camera’s view in to the main video, so everyone can see clearly what’s going on every step of the way. I’m an extreme novice, when it comes to cars. Most of the folks probably knew exactly what you were doing. I didn’t. 😆 Thanks again! Now, I can save myself $500 or more. I’m sure if I took it to a shop, they’d “find” something else that needed to be done…
Not common, but in principle, if the bearing of the pump fails then yes its possible as it may lock up the pulley and wear the belt. You would hear it screeching though so its not common to break the belt. When the belt is off, rotate the pulleys and listen for bearing wear noise. Also the pump should not be stiff to turn.
My mom’s belt and tensioner need replacement and the mechanic quoted her $1200. I think that price is insane. He claims the tensioner is $400+ and the belt is $200.
To your information : 1.To remove air intake pipe easy way To unfasten the clip, put your finger on the front side of the vehicle, not on the engine side.2.Your intercooler plastic part should have 2 screws , you lost them?
Thanks for the vid, really helpful, but the torque specs are incorrect. The torque specs are 20Nm for the idler pulley bolt and 25Nm for the belt tensioner pulley bolt (the safety torx one).
You are awesome! Thanks for all your videos! Love the accent
Thank you. Very helpful and very detail. 👏👏👏👍👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹
Thanks bro my cars tensioner broke and i was next to a parts store and i fixed it immediately lol
Hello nice video. What are the parts number of the pulleys ?
Great video, thank you 👌
You cannot press those bearings out the plastic part is moulded on, mine has collapsed, thats how I know.
Thanks for the video 👍

I agree this video is very helpful I did this without removing the coolant hose. It's in the way but it can be worked around with some finesse.. 👊😁

Bolts from back of tensioner you have to take bolt out from the back of it from underneath the car. not that hard but a bit awkward.

I change it today and only need to remove the air intake duct only
can a faulty ac pump or kompressor break the serpentine belt?
