Katya's the only one who acknowledged and put on a show for us. not throwing shade at the others, but it shows how seriously Katya takes entertaining people who are waiting in line.

Some like using their race to feel special, and some like people to look past it and just see them as queens. But how to people receive queens outside of RPDR and in the clubs. When they're booking and performing and promoting and doing things like DragCon. It was fascinating to hear Katya talk about her feelings towards it from the inside, and to know that racism runs through the community. I'm horrified to hear it, considering queens know exactly what it feels like to experience prejudice, and I hope it becomes more of a narrative and discussion that people have. I love you Katya. Like... Like damn. You're incredible.

I have so much respect for Ru girls, they work so hard, and having to meet hundreds of people who want pictures and everything... I could never do what they do. Being around a lot people drains me, so I couldn't imagine doing it on a regular basis, let alone having to be friendly to them. A lot of our buildings are older and thus would be much more difficult to structurally alter to have aircon built in as well - it's not that we don't want it, it's just that in some cases 9particularly clubs that are often converted from old buildings that served a different purpose) we can't do it. : ) Yours is a much better explanation than some of the other 'British people are all drunk vile and racist' that we're getting elsewhere in these comments though - even now in my early 30s that still happens so often it gets depressing.

To tell you the truth, I'd be afraid to approach a drag performer. Why? Because I never look that good anymore and I fear being ridiculed by someone I look up to so much. Sorry for the digression. I love Katya so much, our personalities and sense of humor are literally the same. It sooo important to talk about the race issue in drag race, I've always felt that it was definitely something fishy going on. It's crazy how no one has really talked about it.

I have so much respect for Ru girls, they work so hard, and having to meet hundreds of people who want pictures and everything... I could never do what they do. Being around a lot people drains me, so I couldn't imagine doing it on a regular basis, let alone having to be friendly to them. Drag queens are human like the rest of us, they're allowed to have off days.

A lot of our buildings are older and thus would be much more difficult to structurally alter to have aircon built in as well - it's not that we don't want it, it's just that in some cases 9particularly clubs that are often converted from old buildings that served a different purpose) we can't do it. : )
Yours is a much better explanation than some of the other 'British people are all drunk vile and racist' that we're getting elsewhere in these comments though - even now in my early 30s that still happens so often it gets depressing.
