Elk Camp Layout 2017 - Imnaha Unit in NE Oregon

For anyone who's never been to an elk camp, well here it is! I've been 12 years at this location, and every other elk camp I've ever visited looks very VERY similar in setup. Of course we're all a little different, but we use what works and makes us comfortable in all weather (usually cold and snowy of course).
This camp is located on public land in the Imnaha Unit of NE Oregon just off Mud Springs Creek. It's such a fantastic location for an elk camp that we had to arrive several days before opening day just to secure the spot since it's first-come first-served.
Our group is too old now so we don't go here anymore, but my 12 years here are some of the most memorable moments in my entire life (so far).
I am a 2nd-generation hunter here; the leader of the group had been coming to this site since 60's! I've never heard of an elk hunting group lasting 50 years... usually they get tired of each other and quit and go somewhere else. I mean it can be difficult to live for 10-ish days in the woods with a bunch of grouchy, smelly, lying old men. But this group meshed pretty well together over the years.
Of course we had our moments but we let the negative events fade from memory and just try to remember the fun times.
