The reason I was told the joints Top one pulled down when the top wishbone bottoms out ,and the bottom one is pulled up when bottom wishbone tops out, which is why the bump stops are where they are, great stuff going together great, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Hey Mike, This Video Made My Day. Watching You bring back cars is a Treat. Have a Great Day and Thank You for Making the Days Awesome. God Bless You All and All Your Families!!!
I like to drill the rivets out, i found that the most easiest way to do it. Great work Mike.
That old Goat is certainly a project. Probably someone’s parts car 20 years ago, but now worth bringing it back.
It's nice to see Mike work again this week
Good work Mike!! Whoever gets this car is going to love the workmanship, and as a bonus they have these videos to refer to when continuing on the restoration. That should bring $ to the auction prices to most of your cars .
First time I've seen such outstanding workmanship
Thanks Phil for sweeping the floor you got your work cut out for you 😂
Good evening everyone
The weight of the car is mostly through the lower control arm transferred through the spring into the frame. The upper control arm floats and controls side to side movement.
Nice Mike..determination is the key..patience is a virtue and ball joints are just a pain in the ass..i was wondering the same thing though about those going under instead of on top ..i noticed it with the first one ..i was thinking i hope he is putting those in the right way
Good to see Mike and Phil together. Total opposite guys but common interests. Right on
Viewing from Australia ... your show one of the best out there 🎣🎿🛷⛸
Mike, the bolts go up! Reason is the split pins are much easier being on top!😅
Good evening everyone hope you all had a wonderful weekend
Luckily Blair has more than enough skills to properly correct the panel. It sure makes a difference where you get your panels now as much as ever when it comes to ease of installation.
Hey Mike, it’s the constant force of the spring pushing against it is the reason it’s sits on the top and not under
Great job mike not easy task
You say you're not a mechanic. That's why the band was called Mike and the mechanics. Lol
GOOD JOB!
Fun job
I miss you guys on Netflix
Lincoln looks happy that the gto is almost done. 😂
Michael, my knees are aching just watching you kneel on that hard cement floor.....
luv your rebuilts vid
Miike toss me a job!
Id be happy to help wherever i can , have all my own tools, i dont need to be paid i just want the experience!!
Will be hitting a cross canada roadie in my first project... Looking for new opportunities 😁
Thank you for the vids man you keep me motivated to keep chugging along with my projects
Question for the ages. Would Mike be more or less dangerous if he knew what he was doing.
Phil showed up at the right time!
Maybe if you had some sort of matt to kneel on maybe something blue. Or maybe a creeper. If only
Better for wheel alignment..👍🙂✌️
I garrentee Mike's hair is more dirty than Lincoln's..😅 luv ya mike
Bolts up through on the upper ball joints
You ask which side the ball joint should be installed into. Remember the force that the very strong spring wants to do.
mike did u tighten ball joint on driver side
Put vise grips on the punch/chisel . Saves the hands .
Bolts up, its a lot easier to get tight
Are the 62-65 nova/acadians going in the sale and is it April 12 2025?
I would b usin a vice grip to hold that centre punch while swing in that hammer. Less painful on the hand Mikey. lol
Upper ball joints is pulled down by the spring .lower ball joints pulled up by spring
is it easier to sand blast carwfully or heat the roof up with death wheels..couldnt you be careful and blast at a flat angle so your just rubbing it off and not blast right at it, like 90°?
i am the one blasting this for Mike this week, seeing that the roof is oil canned already there is no reason to blast it and make it worse. ill do the edges, window channels and drip rails and leave the guys to hit the center with a orbital.
@chrisfryer4953 thanks for your time
Hey Rust Bros Lyle from Saskatoon sk in the building
You put your left foot in you put your left foot out. You put your left foot in and the ball joint comes out.
👋👋👋Hi mike hi blair👋👋👋
Bolts up or down doesn't matter your preference did the job doth sides in last then 1h and i was 9 to 12 year old then
Acredito ser o único brasileiro a assistir seus vídeos. Adoro o velho ❤
If you want to learn how to do it wrong just let Mike at it 😅😅
True not only that but when Blair works around Mike he makes mistakes. But nor when Mike isn't there 😊
bolts face down nuts on the bottom
look out mr smith mikes going to take your job 🤣😂
YEAH YEAH 👍🇨🇦🇺🇸
Gravity is some times a non friend.
Blair was saying that you mike gave him the plague you probably didn't you
Bolts down water runs off the thread helps stop rust
Rust Bros,,,,,,,, Yeee Yeee
not the same without mr smith.
Blair didn’t pick the car really. You need to listen to yourself talk sometime Mike.
He had a choice of the remaining projects
He didn’t even get a chance to look at them because mike was shoving this one down his throat.
Firstly, I realize that you are quickly trying to get some cars up for sale for others to finish. Why would you even replace the ball joints when someone is likely going to press them back out when they strip all that rust off the control arms and replace the bushings? I noticed there is a lot of parts/panels installed directly over rusty surfaces. Do you know this is going to continue to rust and create a mess later on? Wire wheels! Lots of them and then SEM Rust Mort. Let it dry, then epoxy prime and topcoat. THEN.... replace the ball joints. I have been restoring cars for years and have never seen this.
Hey Mike, you look as if you need new body parts like me, ( knees, back etc..) and it's not funny that's for sure! Shouldn't be working lower than you waist. Trying to get this car ready isn't fees able if you get injured!! Take care bro tfs. Tabarnac lol
Mike the mec. Hope ya make lots a $$$$for all those hrs your spending on your JUNK
Why not put car up to working height instead of putting your body trough that
Good question. Blair stated that it's a two post lift. It's not stable enough to work at heights. You need a four post lift. That is what the cross Canada tour Chevelle is sitting on. This bay is next to the paint booth
@@Dr.Claw_M.A.D. a 2 post bolted into the ground is sufficient for these task esp with a car that has no engine or running gear...also Blair was discussing lifts with a guy in his home garage, he was NOT speaking on Rust Bros equipment! However the car is off balance being it's just the shell, you'd have to secure it and also not a good idea work around lifts when you're not as experienced aka Mike LOL
@ I have couple of 4 post lifts. Some guys just tack weld their cars to 2 post lifts while working on them or strap them down
Wow you know moog is now made in China 🇨🇳
Jesus Christ is that hard to watch. Cut the rivets with a fire wrench, knock out the remaining rivets and joint, 40 seconds to get that out.
Nice job but I just cant understand How you are going to make $$$$$$ on the selllll oufffff good luck
I would suggest reading the comments from previous videos. Mike answered even months ago was he didn't want these cars that could be saved being crushed.
In some case between three cars one could be built. There's no profit in restoring cars to sell. Restoration of a customers car where you have the process down to a science and control costs, customers with deep pockets.
Fantom works is a excellent example. Dan tells potential customers you have to love the car at least as much as I do before I consider taking on your car. Fact is he has projects lined up for 24 months at a time. Tells clients you are looking at six figures for the project and 18-24 months once started.
Which he won't till the parts arrive. Then send the car.
Dan makes a small profit.
Mike is trying to save these cars. The ones where you can create a rolling steering rust free chassis are a perfect starting point to restore.
The money is needed but secondary
Wow!! That is some hair 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This fool couldn’t build a case of hemroids
QUÉBEC ,,,,,,👍🍟🍟☕☕🫖🏁BLAIR end MIKE
