Thank you! My dishwasher is old and I didn’t think I would be able to find a helpful video
Haha, been in this apartment for 5 years and the dishwasher has never worked quite right. Came across this video and realized the soap door wasn't springing open. Awesome; thanks!
Like others, our spring had just "flipped it's lid". Your video showed us the right way to re-install it - thanks!!
Thank you for this video! I was able to miraculously repair the spring that came loose on my 35 yr old whirlpool dishwasher because of you!! Many thanks!!! 🎉
Didn't want to buy a new spring and really just needed to see how the assembly went together. One side of the spring and had lost some tension, so I manhandled it into a tighter coil and, Voila!, working soap dispenser. Thanks for saving me time, money, and aggravation.
The spring on our dishwasher had simply popped out of the lid, and we had a tough time figuring out how it was supposed to go back together. Thank you for the clear shots of the assembly (the two little 'pointy' ends of the spring being wedged on an angle in the lip of the lid to provide the tension on the other side was the key)!
This is just what I was looking for! Another video a guy talked about how he "wound" the spring around to add tension but never showed what he did. This worked without all that winding and it took like 5 seconds to fix. Have an older Kenmore dishwasher and it works like a champ so little things like this are super helpful! Thank you!
Finally! The video I've been looking for! I broke the dang pin off on the old dishwasher... thank you!
Thank you. You are now my first stop for home repair!
Sometimes it's the little things in life. Fixed worn-out spring in about 30 seconds thanks to this video. Thank you!
Thank you. I was trying to figure out on my own for like an hr.🤔 Thanks to you fixed it in 5 seconds!😆
I’ve been looking for this for 8 yrs 😂😂😂
Thank you for clear and concise explanation and close up of the lid. Was starting to go crazy not figuring out how to wind up the spring into the lid.
Thanks man! You just saved me almost $200.
Thanks so much for this! The lid came off on one side, nothing was broken, and the spindle was still in place, so nothing was missing, but I was having a heck of a time trying o figure out how to get it back together correctly without breaking anything. Still harder than it looked in the video, but it worked!
Thanks for the helpful video! I'm not handy at all, but you helped me fix the dishwasher in record time. My non-dishpan hands thank you too.
Thank you! This is clear and concise and EXACTLY what we needed.
Thank you so much for showing me how to fix my dishwasher spring!
Thanks a million I had spring backwards
Thank you for your time in making this video! I had no previous spring to know how it was supposed to fit.
I have a recommendation for all ordering the brittle plastic pin. DON'T! I was replacing one that broke on the previous owner of my house. I was very careful not to put too much pressure on the "non-head" side of the pin when attempting to snap the soap dispenser door to it. It broke anyway -- in exactly the same place the previous one had broken.
Here's what I did instead of again paying the relatively high price charged for the pin and shipping: Buy some 10 AWG solid copper wire (not stranded). You want a length that fits almost flush between the tabs on the soap dispenser door -- the ones that that keep the pin (wire in this case) from coming out either side of the door. You want the wire straight. Mine came straight enough. Strip any insulation off the wire. Put the spring on this wire as the video shows putting it on the pin. Snap the door to it. Finish as in the video
The wire diameter is a bit less than the diameter of the original pin, but it's still big enough to snap into place on the soap dispenser door -- and it works well. I paid $.50 for the wire (actually bought 6" of 4 wire cable). Most stores would probably give you enough wire to do what I suggest here. Hope this helps someone!
I want to thank you for providing such clear images of how the legs and the center of the spring should be oriented! I'm essentially saying the same as the last guy did. It's fascinating to me how many post videos hoping to be helpful but have unfocused images of how that tiny spring should be . . .
Worked exactly as described. Thanks!
Used this video twice and works perfectly! Thank you!
Brilliant! I got it in 5 minutes! THANK YOU!!!
This video was a big help, thanks dude. Could not figure out the spring positioning!
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Excelllent video! just what I needed! Thank you!
This video was very helpful. I tried to fix it by myself but I couldn't and with this explanation I did it in 3 minutes. Thanks!

Thank you for posting this video...Mine was a different model so both the ends of the spring had 2 go under...By seeing your video I was able to figure it out....Saved some $$$$ So simple once you know procedure
Thanks
Thanks.
Geez, thank you SO much for this!!
Happy to help!
Thank you!
excellent sir!!
Thankyou sir!
Thank you for this video
You're very welcome, glad it was able to help with your repair!
I did this fix today; I also had to replace the pin as it cracked when pushing the lid back on. So anyone considering this repair should probably also order the replacement pin as it will likely be bent and aged.
Does it matter if I use powder/liquid detergent for this dishwasher? Or pods?
My spring is fine its just not flipping open during the washing cycle
Thank you this worked perfectly for my dishwasher. Model Number: du915pwpq2
Glad to hear we could help!
