The detergent dispenser is the part that controls when detergent is dispensed throughout the cycle. You would need to replace this if your dishes are not being cleaned after a cycle or if your current dispenser isn't working properly.
Today, Mike from Point & Click Appliance Repair will take you step by step through this repair so you can learn how to replace the Detergent dispenser (part number WPW10605015) in a Whirlpool Dishwasher yourself.
Part number WPW10605015 replaces AP6023349, WPW10605015, PS11756691
WARNING: Before starting any appliance repair, always make sure t hat the appliance is completely disconnected from its power source by unplugging it.
Tools Need:
- T15 Hex Bit
- 3/16 Nut Driver
- Needle Nose Pliers
Step-by-step how-to instructions for replacing the Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser (part number WPW10605015) in a Whirlpool dishwasher:
1. Remove all screws that are holding the front dishwasher panel to the dishwasher door. (Tip: Take out bottoms screws first, then lift up the door and unscrew top screws)
2. Lift up on door to remove
3. Disconnect the wire harness from the main control board
4. Flip up black flap located on the back of the dishwasher. Using a screw driver press on the clips that holds the wire harness and remove. Then disconnect top clips holding in wire harness and remove.
5. Take 316 nut driver and remove screws holding the dispenser in place.
6. Take out old dispenser and replace with new one.
7. Put panel around sipenser back on and screw in dispenser.
8. Add removed screws back onto the dishwasher panel.
9. Plug appliance back in.
This part may also work with other brands like Admiral, Amana, Caloric, Crosley, Estate, Hardwick, Jenn Air, Kenmore, Kitchen Aid, Magic Chef, Maytag, Norge, Roper.

upon attempting to remove the top 2 center screws they will not com out. All they do is turn. They don't loosen or tighten. How can I get them out.

Whoops....at 3:19 the dispenser was put in backwards. Through the magic of editing......presto changeo....it’s correct again at 3:23.

i cannot get the door to stay closed, is it the spring do you think or something else. it moves but doesnt stay shut and open and close on its own
After replacing , I am seeing water leak from the bottom of the door.. what could have gone wrong?
Check the spray arms for cracks
