I love Briggs and Stratton...... My dad bought one for me when I was in my early teens it didn't run totally disassembled it cleaned it got to spark and eventually to run again besides asking things no one touched it besides me ofcourse. I still remember that I was so proud haha. A bit like a first girlfriend......... I guess people understand it didn't look in any way like this beauty does. Great vid thumbs up!
These motors are similar and many parts can interchange but far from identical. About the only things that are identical are misc bolts, valve cover, the tin around the head, pushrods oil plugs and caps. The best way to turn one of these into an animal is to lift up the oil caps slide in an animal and re-install the oil caps.
Some of the newer, higher end Briggs utility blocks are dual roller bearing crank engines. And with the displacements, Briggs' website lies about their bore & stroke/displacement. The tech specs dont line up, and if you plug the numbers into a displacement calculator they toss back numbers that indicate smaller blocks. For instance, a Briggs CR950 208cc block specs from their website will actually figure out to a 169cc engine when applying the given bore and stroke. I assume this is in part because they dont like selling a $270 motor for someone to order another $200 of parts elsewhere and build a motor they're charging $700-800 for. Do your homework on Briggs'blocks before you think any old intek is capable of becoming an animal
Oh man!!!! I just got a stock one running and ready to mount on a mini bike, and i just fell into a rabbit hole of info on how to upgrade this thing in the future.....ive been sitting on this engine for 4 or 5 years finally got it started and running nice.....and now this 🤯🤯🤯going to be a fun journey after i enjoy it for a bit ,but upgrading for sure now, thank you sir
wagdbikerider I knew these motors were exactly the same, I have the intek 850 series which is not mention much on the Briggs and Stratton website and other places for some strange reason, I got it for 40 dollars from this poor Sucker who took it off his tiller because he thought it was broken even know the motor was practically new, so I took it home took off the carburetor bowl expecting dirt but was clean as a whistle, and then I took off the air filter and there was tons of dirt in there, I knocked it off put it back in and it already had lots of gas in it choked it and it started on the first pull, and the only thing that I did to it so far is put a straight pipe with a rlv muffler just like yours I got for free, I was going to mod the motor more with animal parts and put it on my other go Kart but then I realized it was going to start to cost a lot but then I decided to start the go kart build I always wanted to do and keep the Briggs on my orange old go Kart, so I bought a Rotax 399cc 24hp 2 stroke snowmobile engine for 65 bucks way cheaper than modifying the Briggs and more hp in stock form, you can check out my go karts on my page
I have an Intek 800 series also 205cc which I cannot see any discernible differences. Could it be that maybe the carb is all that was different? I know the crank has a ⅞" and 1" step as it came off of a chipper/shredder. Was curious about any hidden differences if any.
Jeeze, just buy the animal ready to go. Or just find a good ol used 250cc 2 stroke. Then you have 6 gears and 50hp. Lol.. i assume this animal is more made for go kart racing... briggs made a 206cc 900 series also. Not sure the difference I it and the 205cc so if anyone knows, please comment.
briggs very smart !!!! i tried doing a cheap rebuild but motor did not last parts not cheap for these motors look at my 2014 craftsman snow shredder rebuild only lasted 30 mins after rebuild original owner ran with no oil
Ok you are probably the only one who know this are the carburetor holes for both of them the same I want to get the animal carb but I have a stock intek 900 head would that work I just cant get My carbs to work with a filter on they always turn off when I give gas so the animal carb would be my only option I can put a filter on that
wagdbikerider shit my bad misunderstood the bearing part, so basically new crank. New cam. New valve spings. New rod and piston. New carb, and will the 6hp clutch work on the animal or will I need another one?
And this children is why modern Briggs engines suck so hard per$ it's ridicules.. This is why we use 100$ Honda clones (all hf 212s have dual bearing cranks cast steal cams cast cylinder sleeves and handle way better rpm on stock rod than the Briggs 900)... A good genuine honda gx200 can be had for less nowadays than a clapped out Briggs and the aftermarket support is better, cheaper, easier to navigate.. My gx mini with stock rod and piston is just as quick as my boys animal I won't rev it as hard as he does and yea I've thrown stock rods but the only way Briggs is worth it is if you come across something used dirt cheap
Have you ever put electric start on one of these did just a cam and springs for now and now the rope beats my hand up and i done popped the recoil spring😂
I know this vid is kind old... but I have a briggs 6.5 that's pre Intek but it looks just like the Intek the motor number is 110432-0121-e1. Do you know if I got swap in the stock animal rod, piston, flywheel, coil and switch to the mikuni style carb as you describe? I'm building a mud motor and I want little more power but dead nuts reliability. Plus the briggs engine I have was free to me and is rather build up the briggs than buy a Chinese clone
Yes it would be cheaper, and the every part in that animal is built for performance and will last a lot longer. There is a reason the Intek engines are cheap.
I'm doing a very similar change but I'm going from 6.0 Intek to upgrade as high as I can go with it. I put on a high flow air filter on my stock carb and at first I got the usual problem of too much air so I made the main jet bigger by a couple hundredth's of an inch and now it's super inconsistent. I'm thinking I need to change the intake manifold from this short one on here to one of the animal intakes but I'm not sure. Do you think this could help? Also by inconsistency I mean it runs but only for a couple minutes and then it starts to flood. Funny thing about it though is I put a piece of plastic into the intake to create turbulence and it helped a lot. Suddenly it would run practically forever as long as I kept the RPM's up it would just get a little jumpy at high RPM's.
Thank's man. I'm working on trying that. I don't really know exactly what to buy. If you have any idea what part has anyone with a similar situation used I would appreciate it.
@@wagdbikerider it definitely will just wondering if I'm the only one thinking about it it's combining the bigger bore and stroke of the engines hoping there is enough meat on the face of the piston to mill off

Wesley Jackson they are larger engines that have lower efficiency. I prefer the intek because of ability to build out. but the vanguard is the only way to get over 20 hp. if you want 15 hp or less the intek block is your best bet. they offer very high power to weight ratios
appreciate your input I've got an old Heathkit Boonie bike, put a predator 212cc on it, runs pretty strong. I've also got a 9hp (or was it 11hp?) b&s vanguard just sitting around, but it has a 1" shaft and my comet tav is obviously 3/4" because it's on the predator 212cc. wouldn't be too hard to swap it in my mini boonie bike but I would have to go get a 1" tav....just don't know if it's worth it. it would be about twice as much horsepower to the jackshaft though

The blue PVL IS on stock Animal. The WF has red which is 7100 rpm
Genesislights the blue I got here said 12000 rpm on it so I don't think that's the case with mine. I could be wrong though.

a briggs animal is a built intek same block and head just beefier internal parts
the intek I was working with had ball bearings in it for the crankshaft
wow lucky you! that's a better block than the one I had.
You can replace those sleeves though lol. But still a cool ass engine.
also if you put a fuel pump on it would you please put up a video of how you set it up? thanks

you need to set valve lash on your engine. It will make a lot of difference.
i got the briggs 15c107-003-f8 snow engine 250cc
junk !!!!!!!!!!
no ball bearing crank !!!!!!!!
the LCT better block steel cylinder sleeve and dual ball bearing
Briggs Cheaped out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joni English it is a snowblower motor haha. They will run for years despite the cheap build

wagdbikerider alright thanks I got anoyed with the original carb
where did you find the coils and flywheel for 140?
basically a new engine
Sloan V cost wise they are similar. some people just like to tinker though

J Taylor can't say for sure. You will have to take measurements. The carb should mount right up however
Where do you find the carburetor intake for $10.00?? I haven’t seen them that cheap.
glennspeeds I think it was fastermotors.net or out2win
wagdbikerider Thanks man I appreciate that
you can put the world formal carb on it because the world formula carb is faster

you can buy a new 206 animal with no carb and no exhaust for 599
True. Some people like to build stuff
If I add a 12k rpm blue coil to a stock lo206 will it blow my engine?
what is the adapter you are using to fit that K&N air filter??

Thank you
Are the regular engines cast iron sleeve or aluminum bore
What about using a 208 block with a 205 crank
Might change the comp ratio

now to bolt it on ur cars bonnet and use it to drive ur car.....................
Are those Intek 900 engine upgrades available for the Intek 1450 305cc
Likely. Might take more phone calls

bob da fred I could but the parts you choose are very dependent on what you want the engine to do
change your rod and flywheel for durability and the block won't hold
sure it will! I haven't blown it yet
sure it will! I haven't blown it yet
Just buy the animal engine already built
mowerman32000 same price!!
Any Chinese version on that mikuni anyone?
28 mm carb look up that
Anyone that could help and know the answer would be nice to know. Don't they make inteks with berings in the case
Not that I'm aware of. Never seen one
@wagdbikerider well I appreciate that. I think I found one because it has all the intek stuff but I belive it has bering in the block
Did the aftermarket connecting rod fit on the stock intek crankshaft? I am thinking of getting one. Thanks
Smooductions yes and no. it did not fit on the stock piston so you would have to get a new piston at least
