- A neat feature which isn't in the manual.
Note: This does not work with the OG Su-25 from FC3 (Even though the real one can do it, and did in Afghanistan)

thanks for the explanation on the laser 👌👌
Very interesting video, great work as usual thanks for making these videos as close to reality as possible, wonder if its actually being used in this manner in the current conflict. Presume the modernized SU25s have this capability aswell.
Quite possibly, it's a very mature capability. Buddy-lasing for Su-24s, Su-25s etc. by ground forces and other aircraft has been done operationally since 1980 in Afghanistan, and lasing by UAVs was almost certainly done in Syria.
Thanks I wasn't aware of that we get the impression that the Russians are quite behind the times even DCS doesn't give them this capability outright.
I'm a little miffed that the Flaming Cliffs Su-25 can't do it, since the real one was doing it 40 years ago. The only vaguely modern Russian technology modeled in DCS is the Ka-50 (with Black Shark III representing a late-2000s spec aircraft) since there are legal barriers to modeling anything currently in service.
Yeah thats a shame 40 year old technology capabilities should be modeled.
Doesnt work at all, I did everything with the ctld and mist, ran all the scripts accoriding to the ctld instructions and dont get anything. "No JTAC Available" message
Does it work without scripting (with a FAC unit)?
No. The default JTAC units can't be set up to use the laser code 1113. The only other way would be to have another aircraft buddy lase.
@@Mr66D you mean that you can't set the cose but it doesn't work?
@@angelomammetti1846 Now that I check again: it is possible to set a JTAC unit to use 1113 in the mission editor, but it doesn't seem to actually function, at least not in my tests. I might be missing something though.
@@Mr66D I tried it too yesterday and got the same result. I asked on some discord servers and a guy told me it was "fixed" because considered a bug. But with a scripted jtac it still works, so at this point I think it's the code 1113 that doesn't work on FAC units
