  • Su-25T Frogfoot FREE DCS tutorial series | Stepping it up a notch #dcs #su25T #frogfoot
For those that are new to DCS World, this is the aircraft you get for free and this tutorial series will be aimed at a brand new player with limited or no experience with a flight simulator.
You will be exposed to the mission editor, learn how to make missions that allow you to practice the skills required to master DCS from the ground up and also be able to fly sorties along side the tutorial videos at the same time.
In today's tutorial we will take a look at the navigation system in the Su-25T and practice navigating around the Caucasus using waypoints and runway ID codes.
This series structure will apply to any other module you would like to learn and will give you the building blocks and steps required to go from ZERO to HERO!

Dude, really enjoying this series. I once heard a quote (from an Australian dude, turns out) that went something like "Perfection is the consistent application of fundamentals under stress." If I didn't rush blowing shit up I would have ended up ahead of just trying to blow shit up from the start. Smooth is fast, as they say.
Going to follow along, but with the MiG-29A and the Tomcat, the latter of which I'm still struggling with! Like you said in another video, I feel like Rooster, "WTF do all these buttons do??"

It really is mate, you will never achieve perfection but if you strive for it you will get damn close. Lay the foundations of good airmanship and the advanced will fall into place much quicker

Excellent tutorial for beginners. So easy to follow along, at a nice relaxed pace. Kudos to you. At least I feel now I am getting somewhere. Cheers from Down Under. Red 😊

    perfect flight instruction mate !
note : for rearm/refuel, you only need engine shutdown not canopy open, I think, your chief won't work on a hot plane ;-)

Minor nitpick: on Su-25, the flaps have two positions - manoeuvre (MK), and takeoff/landing (VPK). There's the switch on the instrument panel which is actually animated in FC3, but if you look on the throttle of the original 25, there's also a thumbswitch to deploy flaps since you'd be using them in hard turns. I think 25T moves this to the left side canopy rail under the brake chute release/cut switches. Usually the manoeuvre setting is still sufficient for takeoff and will result in a less nasty pitch moment if you retract them too early, but for heavy loads/short runways/hot and high, you want full flaps.

So the first stage of flaps is manoeuvre flaps?? And the second stage is takeoff/landing flaps??

Loving the vids. Did my best landing ever. All I could here was your voice. “ nice and smooth, gentle inputs “ Worked perfectly. One question, where is the vid where you open mission editor? You said you should have it saved

Glad it helped mate, the playlist this video is in, if you start at the first video and work your way through it should all make sense and be in chronological order for how to learn to fly the frogfoot

I'm pretty sure you don't need an extra bind for landing flaps, F will cycle them to landing but only when you're already airborne.

Is this a military thing, to set the altimeter for a runway, not QNH (elevation above mean sea level)? Wouldn’t that make harder to read maps since you would need to calculate relative altitudes?

dude where can i find the video for adding waypoints on the f10 on the fly?? tks.... not mission editor.... pretty sure you did one if I remember correct

    • @TorniQuetHD

I haven’t done a video on that one sorry mate, you can add waypoints for FC3 aircraft on the fly via F10???

Which do you recommend, steam DCS or standalone? Cheers

    • @TorniQuetHD

I would go with stand-alone mate, easier to deal directly with ED that way 👍🏻

How close do you have to be to waypoints for them to update to the next one? Because the radius of the turn and then the course correction afterwards seems to form a large S type flight path to get back on the waypoint-to-waypoint line. Isn't it better to start a turn before actually getting there? I guess what I'm asking is what's the radius of a 30-degree bank turn in an Su-25T flying at about 500kph?
