Wanderer is an SUV specific tyre from Indian tyre manufacturer MRF, which is one of the world’s top 15 tyre companies. MRF started producing tyres since 1960s.
Scorpio N stands for Scorpio New (I think), cuz it's not some gimmicky face lift or some cosmetically beautified version of the previously outgoing model, it's in fact a massive full fledged upgrade and a brand new SUV compared to what was being offered in it's previous generation. The older one is now sold under the brand Scorpio Classic (cuz it's still the top selling SUV and probably one of the top 10 cars sold in the rural parts across India). I have like 8 different Scorpio Ns within my circle of friends and they are all young buyers (under 35). Btw thanx a ton for such a great review. It is a feeling of a loose component on the steering while traveling at low speeds over rough terrain. Could you please comment if you have a vehicle with the same problem and vin?
Autonomous start stop is not a bug it's a feature to save fuel and to add mileage! It kills engine while on stoping to save fuel and starts right up when you put foot on gas and turning off Autonomous start and stop after stopping then you have to start the engine again as it shows that you have turned the autonomous start and stop off
and that particular "feature" is an engine killer , most wear and tear happens when the engine is thermally cycled and during the first few seconds of starting. it is same as turning your florescent light on and off too often. if you do not let it warm up it will fail sooner. if the stop is for less than 2 3 mins there is no reason to turn the engine off. yes it will save fuel but that savings is always lesser than the price of new engine.
I agree with your many points. Specially has to look upon safety part (Automation). 7:40 It's maybe cheap for many countries but saying cheap car totally reflects your CHEAPNESS. No biggy, but in Australia isn't it "Scorpio" and in India it's "Scorpio-N"? I know the badge on the back of this one says "Scorpio-N", but I think the first examples into Australia had the incorrect badges on the vehicles from the factory. Anyhoo, this is a pretty decent effort here from Mahindra, just as the XUV700 is too, so I hope more people get to experience the brand. They deserve to sell in good numbers here.
Scorpio and Scorpio-N are both different Scorpio is old gen but still practical without much of new gen tech and very affordable in India whereas Scorpio -N is more packaged as VFM product
That start and stop function is for Indian traffic jams to save fule and that car don't have any bug with that start stop function while the car is turned off by the start and stop function and then if you turned that button off then if press the clutch pedal it won't start because that clutch pedal turn on feature is a part of start and stop function 😊

Wanderer is an SUV specific tyre from Indian tyre manufacturer MRF, which is one of the world’s top 15 tyre companies. MRF started producing tyres since 1960s.
indias top 15 tire doesn’t even compete with world class pirelli or michelins
Car reviewers are like crime reporting journalists; the more knowledgeable, neutral and unbiased they are, the more authentic and usable information they can provide the end users with.
@@helpinghand7073 That's Bolero Neo and not Scorpio N. U are just confusing yrself with different car names or maybe there's in fact a Scorpio Neo being sold in your country, which I'm unaware of.
scropio "Next" gen to distinguish from classic Scorpio that they are still selling i believe.
Ever since Ive seen the back of this Scorpio-N the lights remind me of the Volvo XC90.
Nice review, would really appreciate a comprehensive off-road test. Lets see how it fares.
Luckily in Australia, it's yet to leave a mark on the market! In India the waiting period on these things are a deal breaker!
what is the waiting period for top model scorpio n and xuv 700?

I have a Scorpio N and love it
Then again I don't drive around scratching my little claws on the dash all the time so perhaps I'm not getting the full experience
Love the comment, not sure you'll be lacking any experience just because you don't fondal the harsh dash (it's not all about the touch) it'll give you some marvellous life experiences though if you explore with it as intended.
Thanks for the chuckle, loved it
The moment he said ....it's cheaper.....for people living in India ...it's kind of a luxury
India me b ssti hi h ye price or iske specs k according. 20 lakh me big daddy suv.
Mahendra...Best built quality... India's most reliable company...❤❤❤
The issue with stop after u switch off auto start stop once you stop is that you have to put it in nutral or P to start the vehicle again. According to me I might be a big but I feel Mahindra engineers have put it there mostly to safe guard the gearbox i guess
The Mahindra Scorpio-N should sell well in Australia based on the price alone. Not sure about Service dealer Network. When other models and better tech arrive, you'll have a best selling brand. There's also a big Indian diaspora in Australia. They'll also be a factor. I realise that Mahindra is one of the best selling vehicle in this segment in India, a nation roughly 48 times the population of Australia, albeit not a first world country. All cars no matter the make, have had to gain acceptance in Australia. Thanks Matt and jacob. Keep them coming.
Lol! Come out of the white supremacy. What does really first world country means?? World without India is nothing read the history! And what we could do, u will see it only in 10 years! I wish u ppl can make one car by urself 😂
India Mahindra should learn from Korea Hyundai and Kia. They should use Japan engine at the initial stage and as they progress in engine development only then the right to install their own engine. Mahindra 4x4 SUV and pick up truck enter our country for the 1st time and that will was the last it enter our market. Why? it was the worst Brand of vehicle with the worst engine we ever experience in our life. It sold well in India because that is the most they could afford there and they get use to Mahindra problematic.
@@Ukit50 but Mahindra engine more realible than hundai in my experience 😌😊❤❤
@@Ukit50 SORRY, YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG IN THIS. PLS DONT TRY TO SPREAD FAKE NEWS. MAHINDRA IS KNOWN FOR ITS OFF ROAD CAPABILITY DURABILITY AND ENGINE RELIABILITY. IT MAKES HARDY TOUGH SUVS. MAHINDRA ENGINES EASILY RUNS STRONG FOR OVER 500,000 KMS. INDIA IS A VERY DIFFICULT MARKET WHERE RELIABILITY AND DURABILITY MATTERS THE MOST. CHEVROLET, FORD, OPEL, DAEWOO, MITSUBISHI FAILED IN INDIA AND HAD TO QUIT. BRANDS LIKE TOYOTA, MAHINDRA, HYUNDAI, SUZUKI HAS SEEN A GREAT SUCCESS HERE BECAUSE OF THEIR RELIABILITY.
@@ruffian9708
Sorry to disappoint you. This is a garbage Mahindra no more on sale in our and neighbouring country. It’s a junk. To play safe we just stick to TOYOTA
Mahindra has come such a long way, they were just our country brand in my childhood and now they are going overseas and doing so good🎉
I was confused between Tata Harrier, KIA Seltos, Maruti Jimny and Scorpio-N. Then my father decided it for me. Scorpio N. As it was 4x4 and Jimny looked odd in our neighborhood.
Hi All, I bought a Scorpio-N 4xplor in September - the vin indicates made in January 2023. It has a loose steering issue which Mahindra SA is busy investigating. I spoke to another person with the same problem and their Scorpio-N was also made in January 2023. Are there any members here who have a similar issue and their vin number starts with MA1TK4YTTP6A With the 10th letter P indicating the year 2023 and the 12th letter A the month. It is a feeling of a loose component on the steering while traveling at low speeds over rough terrain. Could you please comment if you have a vehicle with the same problem and vin?
We love Mahindra scorpio classic. .. 5 gear box one s10 and below.. Pure modern muscle. And yes we remove 2 seat in trunk. For more space
Autonomous start stop is not a bug it's a feature to save fuel and to add mileage! It kills engine while on stoping to save fuel and starts right up when you put foot on gas and turning off Autonomous start and stop after stopping then you have to start the engine again as it shows that you have turned the autonomous start and stop off
Acha hua tuney bata diya warna yeh itney car review kartey hai inko pata nahi hota
@@sagagarwal😂😂😂
and that particular "feature" is an engine killer , most wear and tear happens when the engine is thermally cycled and during the first few seconds of starting. it is same as turning your florescent light on and off too often. if you do not let it warm up it will fail sooner. if the stop is for less than 2 3 mins there is no reason to turn the engine off. yes it will save fuel but that savings is always lesser than the price of new engine.
@@sagagarwal tare jeso ke liye bhi toh informative hai na!
I agree with your many points. Specially has to look upon safety part (Automation).
7:40 It's maybe cheap for many countries but saying cheap car totally reflects your CHEAPNESS.
This is less price compare to the same segments car just to make it affordable for Indians. Mahindra can put everything you said that was missed but somehow its unnecessary features increase the price of this CAR.
6:06 And for your kind information, APPLE CAR PLAY just came with an UPDATE is needed. Mahindra is mark their words.
Scorpio and Scorpio-N are both different
Scorpio is old gen but still practical without much of new gen tech and very affordable in India whereas Scorpio -N is more packaged as VFM product
That start and stop function is for Indian traffic jams to save fule and that car don't have any bug with that start stop function while the car is turned off by the start and stop function and then if you turned that button off then if press the clutch pedal it won't start because that clutch pedal turn on feature is a part of start and stop function 😊
It's not a bug, you are not supposed to change the auto start stop feature after started driving. Just make your decision to keep it on or off before you put it in drive mode.
Actually we get this car In India where it's
BASE trim cost 23.2k AU$ whereas
TOP. trim cost 43.0k AU$
so accordingly this type of huge car with having some off-road capability it's value for money 🤑🤑 deal ❣️
Mahindra is not a just a company it's a pride of india 🔥❣️
Have Scorpio for last 13 year
Never had any Problems so Far..
Great SUV mahindra ever built
I don't understand why you said that was a bug ...you stopped , the feature turned the car off , you turned off the feature thats supposed to start the car again and then saud wasn't starting? ...
It’s value for money for families on a budget.
Good warranty like all Chinese manufacturers.
Certainly no Toyota but they’re not asking Toyota money neither !!
Exactly!
It's Indian not Chinese..
@@SuperLaziboihe said like Chinese
How is it "no Toyota"? Have you driven a Toyota lately? They're nothing to write home about. Very average features and interior. Overhyped reliability. I mean, I'm fairly confident when I say the Scorpio-N drives better than a Fortuner (a pig on-road, imo). Golly gosh.
@@SuperLaziboi who said it was Chinese ?
I said like all Chinese manufacturers this Indian owned TATA has the same warranty
Yes to Offroad review, I would take out the rear seats on a trip, 2 captain chairs in the second row would be great. Needs AEB and Rear Cross Traffic alert, Digital radio as well. Let me know if it is better off road than my MY21 Subaru Forester and I might buy it.
I guess it's a great move by Indian brand car. I really liked the car tbh.
An Indian youtuber Indian backpackers is planning to embark journey to Australia by road on Mahindra Scorpio N. Journey starts next week. So you can see how reliable this suv is. And this youtuber has recently been travelled to London by road on this SUV.
13:20 "The brand that makes pickup" is also the owner of the company "Pininfarina" which by the way was used to design cars for Ferrari.. and yes Mahindra also used to own "Ssang Young", which was later sold to Edison Motors...
I liked your explanation of most of the bits. You are entertaining as well.
Good setup.
Cheers for the review.
Prado costs $430k in India while this costs $30-50k 😂
I think you misunderstood Land Cruiser 300 for LC prado. LC Prado is aprx 125KUS$ on road in India and not 430K$.
Lol
All the crazy costing is due to taxes. Your money isn't going towards buying a better car actually.
@@jec_ecart this argument is partially true (true for CBD and CKD units) but for locally manufactured cars it isn't true, like fortuner costs $60k where's ScorpioN costs $40k both cars are locally manufactured under same tax regime and are similar cars then why there's a $20k difference? Toyota's Greed?
ihave the same model and same colour in India. this is a beast . and road presence is amazing.
Great review!
Love from India 🇮🇳❤
before this. In India i use XUV 500, from 2008 to 2021 This car work perfectly and very still very powerfull in 20K USD Price.

now I'm in love with XUV700 😎😎
Greetings from India. Those tyres are made by the Indian company Madras Rubber Factory, popularly known as MRF. Glad to know you mates liked our vehicles and tyres too.
Had this on a shortlist for value for money off road capability suv for my daughter to do outback trips and tow a small caravan. Went to the dealership Monday and they advised me that a tow bar can’t be fitted because of the position of the spare wheel
Anyone who does not rip you off these days is a good business man, Good job Mahindra with a good enough product at good price
Auto stop system is for fuel cut off and fuel save during idle mode. You may still check that and it doesn't sound to be a bug.
Not just a family car .... But it works as a mafia car in India 😅
I love Mahindra SUVs. I own XUV 300
We need more Indian cars reviews🙌🏻
What a fantastic review, love from India ✨
They have a new pickup in development, looks chunky and cool. I've seen a concept and is a handsome beast.
"Heeyy Jacob."
"Hey Mat."
I miss that.
It’s back!
I didn't get that auto start-stop bug. You have come to a halt and the car turned off. Then you switched off the auto start-stop system. Then pressing the accelerator how it will start again? you have to press the start button to switch on the car again. The tyre brand is MRF. It's a renowned brand. Google it.
If the car is waiting at intersection and the auto start system turns off the engine, when pressing the AutoStart/ Accelerator, it should restart the engine like most other vehicles. having to press the start button every time will be inconvenient.
Proud to be an Indian ❤
When you Are reviewing it, Indian Backpacker already Reached Belgium from Delhi, and about to hit London soon with this vehicle
Proud to be indian brand ❤
hello, hello in india scorpio is one of the most sold SUV for decades its so popular and respected as car that in state of bihar if you don't have scorpio you don't have a car doesn't matter how many cars you own
Indian car market is insanely price sensitive since for most Indians, owning any car at all is still a luxury and big achievement. So Indians are ready to sacrifice on safety to be able to afford a car.
Turns off auto start then expect the car to turn on automatically....what part off auto start/stop did you not understand?
love the look of the car - pity it doesnt have an option of a petrol engine
It have in India. A 200 hp, 380 Nm 2 litre engine.
To those who dont know........the mhawk engine in the scorpio is gold standard engine from mahindra...........ford has tried its best to buy this engine but mahindra always safeguarded it...for their cars...........its refinement and power with respect to its fuel economy is very good
To the point features, style,Brad value and performance. Balanced review. Mahindra❤
The price you pay for it , the package you get is vfm . Good job mahindra . In India, this is a dream car for us . Many people have clocked more than 10 lakh km with the first gen mahindra scorpio . The engine is very reliable anf powerful . As good as any Japanese car .
DEsign and look is impeccable👌
Wish we could have these in US.
Stops start system also has a big issue if you are on a hike the cars stops engine between the process the cars goes backward until it atarts and in traffic situations it might hit the rear car ,mahindra says can't fix this as its the ecu
I'm lookkng at the landscape 😮😮😮😱😱😍😍
This scorpio N has captain seats in 2nd row!😀 but in india i think it has bench seats?🤔
14k views in a day... Pretty awesome dude!
Its so good to drive on roads because Indians buy Scorpio only to drive on highways and roads, very rare offroad or go to extreme conditions, valleys.
Apple carplay is now available in India via software update
I have booked one in Australia...it will be having apple car play software update. Safety features doesnt matter to me; as in my current car, i dont use them. I rely upon my senses. Its sound system is awesome, nothing to complaint about it. Auto start on-off; is an issue; will see if I can turn it off in software. Its driving experience is very good. Noise in drivers cabin is mimimum.
Its a mind blowing deal, What are you even talking about mate? In this price tag, I'm getting pretty premium stuffs. In fact, The other manufacturers must learn from them. This or the XUV 700 are on my top list.
Man's views are increasing day after day. I reckon they will reach 2 million within 6 months.
Just a few bugs and things to address just like the XU700, but I think if they address those they will sell a lot of cars here.
In India few cases are highlighted, ones sunroof failed, others 4x4 lever keeps failing repeatedly
Tyres are also by an Indian company called MRF. Wanderer is their brand of SUV tyres.
The tires company name is MRF that you are seeing in the video and Wanderer is the product name of MRF TIRES
Great vehicle in principal but needs bit more fine tuning and refinement to compete mainstream.
Agreed! But considering the Suzuki Jimny is not much cheaper, I’m leaning towards this as my cheap off-roader recommendation 😄
No it doesn't. It's $45,000 dude. It's incredible value.
the engine is very refined for a diesel
It’s not the Brand who makes pickups. It’s the brand who has acquired pickup company. MAHINDRA is a brand and u all will know soon my friend. And never underestimate Indian Brands😊u might not be knowing but every branded companies are owned by Indian. Just Google it my bro
in india there is rule against the tinted glass so they don"t give tinted glass from manufacturing
thats not a bug, the same happens on my BMW E82. why would the system engage when you turned it off.
This is true, the waiting period for Mahindra Scorpio in India, even after a year is 6 months.
There is an issue with Scorpio, the front right wheel of Scorpio detaches at anytime. Recently a man lost his leg because of the issue. When he reported it to Mahindra, they bribed the police and burned the car in police parking lot.
Not co-operating with the guy who lost his leg. Even threatening him for suing for defamation. This is crazy because 2 months ago Mahindra had recalled all Scorpio N cars to check the issue with the front right wheel.
No tinted windows because it's illegal to have those in India. Police takeout those films.
