    JJ complained about his lack of accountability when things go wrong which is very true. Not that he didn't sign him back

    • @eatupsidedown
      @eatupsidedown 4 місяці тому +11

      It’s not true at all. Doc was commentating to start the season, and he’s thrown in to be the head coach. The only time switching coaches in the middle of the season worked out was with Ty Lue with arguably the best player ever Lebron. Every other time it’s been a shitshow.
      You might think it’s all Doc’s fault- but to be honest, basketball players never hold themselves accountable and nba coaches have less power than superstars. Dudes prefer party and go out rather than get shots up and watch film.

      It's a 2-way street. Doc has his flaws, but a majority of the superstars he's coached have all been chokers come playoff time. T-Mac, CP3, Blake Griffin, Paul George, Embiid, Ben Simmons, Harden. Pierce won nothing outside of Doc Rivers. KG only got out the 1st round ONCE prior to joining Doc & the Celtics. T-Mac still never made it out the 1st round after leaving Doc lmao, unless you want to count his old age days when he was riding the Spurs bench. Kawhi & PG still haven't won a ring after parting ways with Doc & they're on the verge of blowing up that team. None of these guys that I mentioned have won rings after parting ways with Doc. The only notable players who won rings aside from Doc were Ray Allen with the Heat & Rondo with the Lakers. People are acting like Doc had top 20 all-time great players & like these players have won rings outside of Doc, when in reality, he had a lot of chokers who never won anything. Lol

    A tactic often employed by politicians, "Deflect & Re-direct". Rather than address the substance of JJ's opinion, which comes with ample evidence, Doc and his supporters simply attack JJ's motivations. The irony of course is that in this video, Doc once again passes on the opportunity to take any responsibility, opting to patronize JJ by taking on the persona of a parent. "One day he'll realize, coaching is hard". I think JJ is well aware that coaching is hard and compromises and tough decisions are part of the job description. I also think that if JJ does transition to coaching, he'll also have no problem understanding, that if you want your players to be accountable, the coach needs to be the same. It would be nice if the media covering sports or politics didn't allow their guests to squirm their way out of an honest answer.

Lol

Doc doesn’t have that excuse. Ty Lue took the injured version of Doc’s roster to the WCF. Doc had that foster healthy and they blew a 3-1 lead. One of the reasons was due to his insistence on playing Montrezl Harrell, who was a doormat for Jokic.
      He didn’t even address JJ Reddick’s criticisms here. He simply deflected… as usual.

And who on that team was really going to stop Jokic? Let me hear your suggestions. The Clipper's bigs were Zubac, Harrell, Marcus Morris, JaMycal Green, Patrick Patterson, & an 34yr old Joakim Noah who only played 5 games all year & retired after that series lmao. So I'm legit curious, who would you really put on Jokic out of them? 😂 Lmao. They just didn't have the personnel to stop Jokic. Lakers stopped Jokic that year because they had AD, Dwight, & McGee.
      Yes Lue took them further the next year, but they didn't run into another healthy Nuggets team. Jokic is better than any player that Lue ran into the following year, CP3, Booker, Mitchell, & a young Doncic. They blamed Doc, yet Kawhi & PG still have not won anything since then. They even added Harden this year. Respects to Kawhi, but like I said, PG & Harden are just a couple of the many chokers Doc has coached throughout his career. Have you wondered why they're both still ringless? 😂😂 Lol
      Also, checkout Doc's team the previous year before PG & Kawhi went there. His best players were Gallinari, Lou Williams, & Harrell (and he also had a rookie Shai). He won 48 games with them & took them to the playoffs. That's a pretty trash roster to take to the Playoffs in a tough western conference. Lol

      And second, Kawhi and Paul George were healthy in the postseason.
      Btw, if they were good enough to go up 3-1, they were good enough to win. I’m looking at the coach that blew his third 3-1 lead with the reigning FMVP. Kawhi was more hobbled in the Toronto postseason that that 2020 Bubble season with Rivers.

Doc used him and gave him more chances and drew up plays for him. If you watch the clippers, you would see the clippers ran tons of picks for JJ. If it wasn't doc, he would have to play a few more years to HOPEFULLY have a starter role. Also, with JJ starting and having plays drew for him, it helped him improved so when he was with the bucks he was playing better than he was in the clippers.
