In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

I thought I was going to learn something from this video ... I left with more questions

The way it goes on videos when we didn't know what we were doing as well as we do now production wise - check out Doug Vahrenberg's series!

Great video and I hope you can help me out with a quick question. I use a small hummingbird fishfinder with a color screen. My question is as soon as I see the first part of a piece of structure on the far right hand part of the screen., where is exactly is the structure under my boat? When it reaches the middle part of my screen, where exactly is that structure under my boat? I’m trying to avoid setting the anchor directly on the structure so I don’t get snagged. Thanks.

Think about it like a printer - the right side of the screen is the most recent “snapshot” of the bottom. As you go over the piece of structure it’ll move to the left. The most recent data will always be on the right side of the screen, data you have passed will be on the left. Positioning of the object depends on speed mainly since fish finders refresh at the same rate constantly.
My suggestion is to drop a buoy or waypoint a close as you can to the object to better visualize it.

@@TheAmericanAngling thank you for the reply I do appreciate it I fish in Long Island sound in New York and recently snagged on a lobster trap and could barely get the anchor up. I have a winless but was able to get the pot close enough to the boat to reach it with a hook and was able to yank it off

I have a PiranhaMax, my first fish finder. It took me 60 weeks (not a misprint) to finally get it mounted on my kayak. Now I'm looking at my screen and I don't understand what I'm seeing. Every once in a while, a cute fish appears on my screen. But where is it in the water? Starboard? Port? Fore? Aft? Depth?

If a fish pings it means it’s directly underneath you - the depth can be found on the side of the chart

Interesting! The microphone in this video was about equal to recording with a potato - check out our newer stuff - always open to critics!

I only Heard and understood about every 10th word. You need a new narrator. Sorry but you are not a clear speaker.

Hard to understand you. Talk slower, pronounciate and breath more often instead to mumbling fast with long pauses in between.
