I think JellyRoll is so well loved because he's relatable to a lot of people. He keeps it real, and stays humble even in the success he's had. Doesn't hurt that he's incredibly talented.

Ernest said it best "the ability to minister to people". Not perform, not entertain....minister to people. I saw Jelly on April 1st in Worcester, Ma and it was the 1st time in so long I could let go and not worry about life and feel free. Thank you Bubba

My dad had that duality factor to. He was a killing machine tough as nails. He saw alot of heavy action in Korea. He was awarded 2 purple hearts and the silver star. Back home nobody messed with my dad. Everywhere we went I remember the respect people showed him. He was also the kindest most loving man God placed on this earth. He adopted 3 girls before I was born. One blind with severe mental issues. My sisters. He made us all laugh. He made us all feel special. I felt like I was on top of the world when he put me on his shoulders. I remember my mom crying for a month straight when he passed away. Now that I'm grown I understand why.

Makes me think of the letters struggle and I passed back and forth while he was locked up. One thing he said that always sticks with me.. is he said.. "I'd rather be broke and free than rich and locked up". I re-read those letters sometimes... So struggle if you ever read this just know that you helped at least one person. And that is me. Also jellyroll thank you for showing us who you are and what you are capable of. As a friend, I appreciate ya both. Thank you.

You said ministering to people is not inside walls. Wow. So true, it's about reaching inside another person's heart. I think we can also minister to people without it even being about religion at all. Deep thought provoking interview guys!❤

I personally love the fact that you sing about additction, and the struggles with it. Half the stuff you sing pulls out the words and feelings that are exactly me, but the ones that try to ignore and push down into a denial. People love REAL, things you can relate to that are real, Every day struggles of being broken, and feeling completely worthless deep down but never voicing what most peoples real thoughts are about themselves and their struggles. Its hard for me to listen to half the sht you sign cause it brings out all my torn up feelings i'm struggling with but at the same time it pin points exactly what Im thinking, sayin to myself in the mirror or in my head, and sets into motion the reality of lifes struggles. I think you've got beyond talent, and a real gift that is so special because everyone who listens can relate to it in some way shape or form. Thats what makes it even better. Cheerio!

The more I "hear" Jelly Roll... the more I love him!! Whether it his music or podcasts I always learn something new about him, and it always makes me feel great. This guys the real deal, a real man, and a real musician! After listening to him talk, I really don't think he even know how mutli dimensional he is. I know 2 of his "dimensions". If I was a personal friend, I am positive I'd find a few more dimensions... I know for a fact he's done his father/family proud on ALL dimensions🫡
What I would give to just be able to listen to Jim talk. This man is becoming more legendary every day!! I pray that one day I will be able to tell him about the day his words brought me to my knees, and why💯 I SINCERELY THANK YOU Jelly Roll❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥🫡

As a Christian we are here to tell the truth and I understand where he's coming from because I came from the same situation. I was a drug addict/alcoholic. When I got clean, I got saved. I started going into the jails to preach-teach about Salvation because I could relate to where they were. I worked with a lot of girls and had some even in my home detoxing from heroin and meth.
But we're NOT supposed to be out drinking getting "blackout drunk", as JR says he does. I'm not saying you can't have a beer. Although as alcoholics or addicts, I would highly advise against it. Why put your self in a place of Temptation?
And this interviewer says, "yeah, that's right, that's what Jesus did." NO HE DIDN'T! Jesus hung out with Sinners, but he did NOT commit sin! You cannot teach that it's ok to go to the bar on Saturday night and get WASTED DRUNK and then go to church on Sunday week after week. I mean you can, but someday we will all have to stand before God and face judgment and the Bible says that he will spit us out of his mouth for being lukewarm and standing on the fence. He would rather see us on one side of the fence and be either hot or cold, but not lukewarm.
When we become Christians our lifestyle CHANGES to where people SEE A CHANGE in us. I am REALLY REALLY glad that he is reaching people, but to tell you the truth, when I was back my using days and completely depressed with no hope and I heard that song "Save Me," it would have made me want to commit suicide😢 because I would have felt even more helpless, unworthy, hopeless because the song doesn't ever tell you that God can save you from that lifestyle and that you can have a better life by quitting. It doesn't speak to you of HOPE!
Anybody that is trying to help others, by trying to be a mentor to them, and shows them HE ASPIRES to be a BACKSLIDING/FENCEWALKING Christian & THEY CAN TOO & STILL GO TO HEAVEN, I don't think God is going to stand for that for long. It's leading people right to hell, instead of Heaven. I PRAY that his daughter will continue to learn the TRUTH and it rubs off on him more, so that he can REALLY help people & that he can tell people about the HOPE OF GOD/JESUS😊❤. NOT THE FALICY OF MAN.
