Definitely agree about the essentialism in occultism, especially w the gender binary which many treat as a very real metaphysical/ spiritual aspect. It's weird considering too that there's many symbols within occultism that I find easily able to speak about gender nihilism, gender nonconformity and the impossibility to categorize being. But many ppl in the occult remain attached to gender conformity
