Outstanding video timefilm! With your excellent compilation of scenes it epitomizes the magic and thrill of the first Star Trek movies. The scene in 4:25--4:30 with the crew staring at the sky is pure classic!
Absolutley Awsome!!! This is one of the best Star Trek Tributes I've ever seen!!! A Great Tribute featuring a Great montage of Great scenes with Great Music from A Great Star Trek Film. I've alway's loved Horner's score from Star Trek II since I was a kid. Hopefully one day he'll give it another go!
The original series remains my favourite one: old-school special effects, social/antiwar messages, great title sequence, a crew which seems to me more diverse and interesting, by andlarge remarkable actingetc. A very groundbreaking and bold series that has made history and boldly went where no other series has ever gone before. . I am also looking forward to ST XI in summer 2009, hope it willlive up to its legacy I added the video to my favourites.
Tribute is amazing, really really good, but...being a true Trekkie like myself the old movies will always have a special place in my heart. Live long and prosper Star Trek.
R.I.P. Maestro Horner. And now the two J.'s of the "J.J.J." Holy Trinity of Film Music is now gone: First Jerry Goldsmith, and now James Horner. Only the last surviving "J.", John Williams is left.
I felt no real sense of "Aw" with the new film's score. Maybe it's just that I had grown up with this music. There's a sense of wonder to it. Even the "slow" scenes like when Kirk and Scotty see the refit for the first time made my eyes water a little. I didn't get that level of emotion from the new one.
Wow, what a wonderful job! Either you edit for a living or you should, because that was PERFECTLY choreographed to the music. BTW, where did you find that rendition of Horner's score? Normally I prefer original versions of music, especially symphonic scores, but that was a fantastic arrangement! Anyhow, this was a TRULY great and surprisingly moving tribute to the original cast and their movies. My deepest thanks.
This is a great video, i'm so glad it is not one of those highly numerous, poorly edited videos that has some badly out of place music stuck over some scenes with the actors speaking. It doesnt get worse than that. Thanks for this rare, well put together, enjoyable piece. Fantastic :-)
This is an averrage, wonderful beautiful masterpiece. Bringing back so many memroies of that great cinema- and star trek-history. The video goes wonderful with the scenes. I love the showing of characters from 2:19-2:37. Great concept, audio fits so very well to the scenes with changing between action, drama, epicial scenes and fun. This is the best star trek tribute, i've ever seen. And im sure, it will be always. greetz from germany. Live long and prosper!
I Loved the Enterprise during the first set of movies She was a Beautiful Ship and I loved the Design. it was really bad how they changed it for the JJ movie. She was a Char in her own Right.
James Horner is beyond incredible! And those two films were his best work by far. I'm praying JJ Abrams is using him and his score on this next film. Joey Lodes
He had the nuts to say that he'd moved 'beyond Star Trek' or something, but nothing he has done since Wrath of Khan has even come close to being that awesome.
the original cast series and movies are still the best. awesome video. im excited but scared about this new movie. its one hell of a reputation to be tampering with. cheers atvmidlands uk
WOW Well done, I basically grew up with Star Trek, still am = franchise eps, fan based movies, SL and the Movies. I am one who does not have an issue with what Abrams has done, it is space - SCIFi there is so much more that could happen, maybe his remake is an alternate universe come 10, 20 years from now when the next person(s) take over, but, no one can do it like the original cast, crew but they can try and that is what will keep it alive who knows till what they do in the movies is reality.
@timefilm I loved the sound effect of the beep beep beep at the start of the movie. I love listening to that sound score with head phones on. Very rewarding.
thanks for your comment. these guys are LEGENDS and its a massive task to be bringing this back, but good luck to him (jj abrams). ill go to see this new movie there making but i just hope shatner and nimoy are in it to give the new crew the greatest send off. cheers atvmidlands uk
The studio wanted it moved to Summer because they thought it would be more successful. For me it displays confidence in the film's ability to go up against the summer blockbusters which is great. It's nothing to do with delays, as the general rule is the deadline is a deadline and film makers need to compromise to meet it. This is a reboot and a greay deal of care will be taken with it.
My only real criticism, aside from quibbling over one or two cuts, is that I missed seeing any moments from ST: TMP (and a couple more from TVH). Other than that, a really terrific montage, nicely edited to the score, that really caught the spirit of the features.
Love the James Horner reference in this tribute! By far the best score of a Star Trek film to date! I did enjoy Michael Giaccino's as well! Thanks for your video. I missed seeing shots from The Motion Picture. What happened?
Part of the reason i made this was because i knew the new film was coming and what they were attempting to do, so i gee'd this up and attempted to get the link to their offices. it'd be awesome to hear they'd seen it
I was one of the first to put Trek to music and such. tarted in 1986, I took a tape of my work to a creation convention in 1987 In Portland OR. They showed it. The next year there were literally dozens of videos. :( My video was shown more than 2000 times over the next couple of years and I never got any credit for it. That broke my heart so I gave up on Trek conventions and lost interest in Star Trek in general. Fuck em. Good video BTW.
@Tiberiusduck Well I guess if it was your work you'd feel differently. It had nothing to do with vanity. At the 89 convention in Portland, at the airport in, I meet James Doohan. He thought the video, was "amazing." I was lucky to talk to him later in the day. I didn't take credit for the video, but the Creation guy introduced me as the guy who made the video. Jimmy shock my hand and said "good work.". That was really rewarding. It was also when I found out he was missing a finger. =)
I hope this new movie is successful, (and some of the stuff I've heard isn't really true), but what happened with these movies will never happen again. These all blew away records on their opening day. If you discovered Star Trek with the later series, never forget that this is where that all started, a failed TV show that became a phenom.
Grew up with these movies. 2 and 3 are by far my favorites. 4 wasn't bad, but I am not a huge fan of the Time Travel story any time you see it. 5 and 6 just had everyone looking too old unfortunately. Not a huge fan of the newest Star Trek movie. Wish they could write another one like Wrath of Khan.
i hated trek 5 when i first saw it, but after reading the novelization and hearing all the production problems it's actually not so bad to see on a lazy day sometimes
very nice i wish there was a place for the Startrek (aka TOS) crew in Bermans spin-offs (the 1990s) i don't care how old they are Startrek was more than age but wen Kirk's died (poorly) Startrek died with him. sure i like the spin-offs but for different reasons they all never came close to Kirk and his crew of the first Enterprise (no not Artcher's)
Great Tribute, but you left out "The Motion Picture," yes i know it was not the best film in the series, but it was the one that started it all, with out TMP there wouldn't be II, III, IV, V, or IV.. Just saying.. Otherwise very well done. James Horner Rocks! He was offered IV but turned it down to concentrate on other projects.
yeah trek became more action/horror and (to me) there was at some point more of a ''going to the office'' feel then ''the human adventure'' also every alien was the same (guy in rubber) where was the wonder (ENT did have some good ones) also i wonder if Startrek is really one universe (i can count 3) but this can just be big canon problems like StartrekV and VOY (centre of the galaxy/Delta quadrant))
I grew up on these movies, the original show, and the stuff that came out afterward. The new movie compared to these had none of the majestic imagination to it or the heart. They did bastardize the franchise for the lowest common denominator.
I loved those movies. The crew, the humor, the guest stars, the music, the uniforms, the action, and you did them justice. GREAT job.
An incredible tribute to an incredible legacy - live long & prosper NCC-1701!!!
Outstanding video timefilm! With your excellent compilation of scenes it epitomizes the magic and thrill of the first Star Trek movies. The scene in 4:25--4:30 with the crew staring at the sky is pure classic!

I've alway's loved Horner's score from Star Trek II since I was a kid. Hopefully one day he'll give it another go!
Excellent editing! Very nice job timing with the visuals and the wonderful score from James Horner. Nice work!
Absolutely brilliant. Edited to perfection. A credit to your artistic mastery. Bravo!
The original series remains my favourite one: old-school special effects, social/antiwar messages, great title sequence, a crew which seems to me more diverse and interesting, by andlarge remarkable actingetc. A very groundbreaking and bold series that has made history and boldly went where no other series has ever gone before. .

I added the video to my favourites.
I had this ridiculous grin on my face the whole time I watched this. I'm filled with so many memories!
Great ones, too!
When asked why Horner didn't score more trek films his answer was "It's not like they didn't ask me"
Tribute is amazing, really really good, but...being a true Trekkie like myself the old movies will always have a special place in my heart. Live long and prosper Star Trek.
The best tribute to star trek and the original crew and films I have seen nice bro
It sure was. Great rendition!
...
wonderful!
.
one of most beautiful music track in the cinema story...
.
Who is still watching and loving this in stardate 2018? I sure am!
One day I'll update it
Nostalgic Feelings...
Thank You!
Wow. Just wow.
You have a sense for the epic, the quaint, the nostalgic and the humorous.
Best tribute to Horner's Star Trek work I've seen yet.
great edidting - James Horner's music was a perfect fit!
R.I.P. Maestro Horner. And now the two J.'s of the "J.J.J." Holy Trinity of Film Music is now gone: First Jerry Goldsmith, and now James Horner. Only the last surviving "J.", John Williams is left.
DON'T SAY THAT HE STILL HAS 4 MORE STAR WARS FILMS TO DO AT LEAST! (He's not doing Rogue One)
lovely work.
i don't mind mind waiting another year for thie movie.
more time to finally watch all the old stuff in order for the first time.
Very well done, great editing and synchronization to the music.
Wow, what a wonderful job! Either you edit for a living or you should, because that was PERFECTLY choreographed to the music. BTW, where did you find that rendition of Horner's score? Normally I prefer original versions of music, especially symphonic scores, but that was a fantastic arrangement! This. Is. Awesome. And on a note, Star Trek: The Motion Picture was a direct response to 2001: A Space Odyssey and Star Wars IV.
This is a touching tribute. Very nicely done!
music and editing= perfection!
This is a great video, i'm so glad it is not one of those highly numerous, poorly edited videos that has some badly out of place music stuck over some scenes with the actors speaking. It doesnt get worse than that. Thanks for this rare, well put together, enjoyable piece. Fantastic :-)
That was awesome all six films together
Nothing short of sensational.
excellent! love star trek! =A=

warm fuzzy feeling... and no im not stoned, thank you.
I looked and I looked but couldn't find it... so I put it together myself!

Wow, there is one dislike vote on this video. I wonder if it was Abrams, Orci, or Kurtzman. GREAT VIDEO BRO!!!! THIS IS STAR TREK!!!
Very well done. I like this!
the original cast series and movies are still the best. awesome video. im excited but scared about this new movie. its one hell of a reputation to be tampering with.
cheers

Classic!
I love Horner's music, more so when put against clips from films that didn't use his music. Full marks.
glad you enjoyed it
oh my frickin god, it's like the coolest star trek vid on all of youtube
HORNER!!!!!!! Best Trek Themes by far
symphonic star trek was the trek compilation of the cincinatti pops. the original release was on star tracks II
Nicely done.
Thanks, I keep meaning to update this
Very well done thanks for posting. Love Horners Soundtrack to Movie II

abit long, but good in all it's glory
thanks for making this

Very good editting and flow. Wish the video could be seen in high res formate.
thanks bud, I totally agree. I couldn't find any star trek vids like it... so i made it myself
Part of the reason i made this was because i knew the new film was coming and what they were attempting to do, so i gee'd this up and attempted to get the link to their offices. it'd be awesome to hear they'd seen it
i love all 6 , of course my favourites are II, III and VI

Star Trek II and VI YAY!!!!
That was...Ma Mazing....
Very nice, too bad they don't have something like this just before the movie (XI)
my sentiments exactly
@Tiberiusduck

nothing will touch that Horner score
it put him on the map
BEAST!!!!!!
couldn't agree more
Grew up with these movies. 2 and 3 are by far my favorites. 4 wasn't bad, but I am not a huge fan of the Time Travel story any time you see it. 5 and 6 just had everyone looking too old unfortunately. Sweet vid, only change I can suggest would have been some TOSSED Enterprise shots. But VG all the same
Long? Dude, this is the short version!
Atores maravilhosos que partiram e deixaram seus nomes na istoria do cinema em quaze todos cantos desta terra
Star Trek taught me we are Enterprise.
thank you :)
I enjoyed the new movie...
But I accepted everything else you said!
Star Trek XI: The Epic Betrayal.
thank you
ultimate
very nice

amen!
my favorites are I II and VI
One more thing: where in the world did you find the 'remastered' version of the STIII soundtrack?
My favourites with the original crew are 1, 4 and 6
2, 3, 4, 6, and 7.
I don't think the score of the new movie came close to that of Horner's original score for II and III.
Hey were you the guy who had set the Battle in the Mutara Nebula to the movie sequence without sound? If so, how would you feel about reuploading it?
Wow
Heh... yeah :)
yeah trek became more action/horror and (to me) there was at some point more of a ''going to the office'' feel then ''the human adventure'' also every alien was the same (guy in rubber) where was the wonder (ENT did have some good ones) also i wonder if Startrek is really one universe (i can count 3) but this can just be big canon problems like StartrekV and VOY (centre of the galaxy/Delta quadrant))
simply didnt fit with the look i was going for. dont get me wrong, i adore trek 1. best sci fi movie EVER
thanks some of the best star trek ever. not that new B&B( bevis & brain dead)
ONE DISLIKE!? He's must be fat who playing his Playstation all day and has no college degree... >:(
Music from the new movie doesn't even COMPARE to this.
I grew up on these movies, the original show, and the stuff that came out afterward. The new movie compared to these had none of the majestic imagination to it or the heart. They did bastardize the franchise for the lowest common denominator.
for a person who lacks patients and can't watch for 6 minutes, of course it's long
but not me and of course your not impatient
Hi
