  • Thank you for joining me today. I am really excited about showing you how to make your own stamp pads and colors.
I hope that you will all play with different mediums to see which one you like best.
I love playing with color and mixing color to create the exact color I want.
It is allot of fun. Work with what you have. You don’t need to spend allot of money to get great looking stamped images.
Please leave me a comment below and let me know if you enjoyed this and will try it.
I would also love to know what type of videos that you would like to see.
Thank you for supporting me. I love you all.
    Blessings and Hugs 🤗

Excellent video! The blue Golden is acrylic, however, and the red Daler Rowney is watercolor. You are so helpful, and I really appreciate it!

I'm going to start searching for containers & materials to make stamp pads. I have a ton of old markers and bottles of food coloring that I can easily use for stamps. Thanks for the awesome ideas. Your video was very clear and informative. Thanks so much. I'm really enjoying this. Love the sewing machine stamp, too.

It took me a while to get the word gouache right also.
My boyfriend was an art, major and taught me It’s pronounced “wash” with a G in the front.
    Gwash = gouache
It rhymes with posh and squash.
Please don’t slosh or squash my posh gouache, i’m painting a squash after I wash it.
Say that a dozen times. I never got it wrong again.
Matter-of-fact I’m saving up for some posh gouache so I was hoping I could pinch some pennies and make my own re inkers for some dry ink pads.
I love that you don’t waste even a smidgen of color. I don’t even rinse my paintbrushes without wiping off any excess on a piece of scrap paper. I use it for backgrounds, embellishments, punches, die cutting words, it’s the perfect jumping off point that can later be jazzed up a million ways. Art supplies are so stinking expensive I can’t bear to waste a speck of color.
I love your down to earth approach.
I can’t believe gel food coloring doesn’t mold, or go bad because of the gel. What a great tip. It’s so concentrated!
Thanks for sharing all your ideas. Can’t wait to see more of your videos!

Very helpful video on making stamp pads, thank you 👍💜. One thing that I use to mix in with watercolour paint is the food safe lustre dust. This then makes your own mica. The little vials of lustre dust go a long way.

You had so much fun making a mess Susie lol. Glad you did this because I got an automatic numerator (vintage date stamp) no felt in it. The make up sponge would work perfect. Thank you for the inspiration. Remember the first time I used gel food colouring, over twenty years ago. Very purple cakes 😂. Hugs xx

Thank you so much. Rachel, why is your channel so hard to find? When I type in Craft Portal in the search, you are almost impossible to find. It's like I have to wait for you to post something to find you. Take a look. Maybe you should add something like your name or something to make it stand out. I try to send people to you but they have found it hard to find you too. I try to remember to put a link to you in the description, but you know how our minds are. We have so much going on up there we forget some things sometines 😂🤣😂.

I will be playing with acrylics. They are permanent if you get them on your clothes. You know another thing you can do is color on your stamp with markers then stamp on paper. It's best to breath on it before stamping. It works good. I like to splatter with a toothbrush too. It has a very nice effect.

Hello, Susie! Loved watching you get your fingers messy. I'm all about messy. Thanks you for sharing. I didn't know about storing the stamp pads upside down! I see Ardith answered your query about how to pronounce gooooo - ah - sh. Say it fast 3x. lol Now that the goooo -ah -sh is out on the table, I should try to stamp with it. Thanks again for the ideas! All my best...
