Cape Wrath to Land's End, Part16

- The weather's beginning to test me as I continue down the North Devon Coast, passing through Combe Martin to get to Ilfracombe. A couple of shorter days seems to help me relax. At this point I'm conscious my "journey" has turned into a "challenge" that I'm determined to complete, rather than enjoying each day for what it is, as I had been managing to do for the last 9 weeks. I head on to Barnstaple and around the Taw and Torridge Estuary, deciding to cut straight to the coast at Bideford, camping at Westacott Farm just before the next downpour.
Laugh at beautiful weather in Scotland and hoying it down in England. Great costal scenery .thanks for all your effort Scott
Ha ha yes didn't expect that! Thought once I'd done Cape Wrath Trail the rest would be easy but no..
I've really been enjoying your videos, I've been watching a couple a day for the past week. I've loved seeing the scenery and listening to your thoughts. Fabulous !
Thank you Garry, I'm guessing you can probably relate to the "thoughts" on a long walk and how different they become from "normal" life!? Glad you're enjoying
No need to apologise for the intensity. No need to apologise for anything after the distance you’ve covered! Loving sharing your journey - thanks.
Thanks Toby glad you've enjoyed the journey too, on reflection it was ridiculously incident-free until those last couple of weeks!
Fantastic Scott. Congrats!
Thanks Garby
Yay - new rain cover! Epic scenery
Felt pretty vulnerable without it, especially with the weather as it was!
@@endorphins479 funny how quite a few were lost that day!
@endurance-adventures and tents failing and people having to abandon plans - this pattern repeated each weekend
@@endorphins479 you had some pretty tough days! The weather in July wasn’t good this year
Thoroughly enjoying following your journey Scott, you are showing your age if you can remember the Wurzells.
Glad you're enjoying the journey Andrew
I'm from Oregon, and this reminds me of my trip doing the Oregon Coast Trail. Beauty, dodgy weather, and always the possibility of a pint nearby. Cheers!
Yep I experienced all of that in Oregon on a bike trip! Great memories though.
Hi Scott, another episode with spectacular scenery. It seems it's not just me that trips over their own walking poles! Haha
I'm loving the excuses now you're coming up with to have a pint.........I've got a new pack cover. 🍺🤣
The rocky terrain of the coast along the Ilfracombe coast was stunning. All the best, Dave
Thanks Dave, the beer drinking was a bit OTT towards the end for sure, needed the comforts.
Fantastic videos and good music too. So many other people’s videos are ruined by awful music but yours really compliments the scenery and the journey. 🥾
Thanks Alan, think we tend to put the music in when there's wind noise (or folks who fly drones) or in my case inane banter too. Glad you're enjoying
Nice one Scott , another cracking episode mate. The coastal scenery is stunning and i'm glad you managed to find a rucksac cover . ..cheers Stevie
Thanks Stevie yes glad to get that rucksack cover I wasn't going to shut up about it otherwise 😁
Well done Scott, absolutely excellent series of films. Thoroughly enjoyed. What's next?
I'm not sure tbh Paul, certainly won't be doing that particular journey again, and had my fix for now!

Amazing
Well done Scott. The auld couple in the book the Salt Path must have walked this way? Superb scenery, we are blessed here in the UK.
Yep the Salt Path was along this route and all the way around not just to Land's End. But wildcamping the lot, in all kinds of weather!
Epic and that's surely an understatement 😊. Sure you've been asked that before? Though tbf i know of no-one who's cape wrathed it then traversed the entire mainland of UK..?
Hi Fraser, the next day (next bit of
Vlog I guess) I'd meet someone who didn't just walk Cape Wrath to Lands End but started of J.o Groats walked to Cape Wrath then traversed down including Welsh Coast Path and continued past Lands End along S coast finishing at Buckingham Palace!
