The best part was no hangups so jokes even a little controversial can flow freely. Comedy is about laughing at ourselves. When thin skinned conservatives want to sling zealotry and bigotry one direction, then can't handle the reflection in the mirror, comedy dies. Comedy is a tool to humanize EVERYONE via understanding we are all flawed and quirky. This hiatus of stand-up comedy all so homosexual Trump gets to pretend KGB agent daughter Melania couldn't resist his microscopic pickle, flappy chest, old man smells and magnificent hairpiece? Let the Gay Donny Jokes Fly! Gay comedians need to ruthlessly go after Peter Thiel and his gay denial puppet Cadet TwinkySpurs.

You find great joy, in how prejudiced people are, that they think that people look/behave/act a certain way, depending on their sexuality, and how this preposterous idea is the accepted mainstream? You're delighted, that Cenk (and all of Hollywood) is massively prejudiced against gay people, in that way, and how no one in this video, challenges it, but instead reaffirms it? How no one sees any problems, with asking "how gay" a character should be played, as if that is even a thing?

And as a multiracial person from Ohio, I can understand his husband not wanting to be in Ohio, because if you aren't in the main Cities, it has gotten rough for minorities and goodness gracious I couldn't imagine the life of someone that was in the LBGTQI community and a minority. But I am glad that Brian as a someone married to them is doing everything he can to relate. My wife does this for me and it isn't easy.

Brian, I really appreciate your vulnerability. It’s so wonderful. My cousin David passed a few years back. He called himself my Notorious BGC (Big Gay Cousin) and when I took him to Faces in Sacramento there was a straight kid that kept telling him not to be scared thinking David was straight. Most of my life people have assumed I’m gay because I’m pretty and I have a lot of feminine qualities. I am who I am. I really felt a sense of joy when you explained the conversation you had with your husband. It’s really cool that you trust each other. I hope you found the best place to live! I Love Your Spirit!!!

I think it is courageous for a gay person to come out of the closet with all the prejudice there is to face. Actors should be able to play any straight or gay role regardless if they are gay or straight based on their talent for the role, not sexual orientation. Great examples are Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Lane. They are both terrific actors and can play any role they want because they are so talented. Anything they do is believable based on talent, period. I hope gay and straight actors aren't typecast based on orientation.

Amen, I can totally relate as a gay man who has no outside clues that I’m gay.
It’s somewhat of a double edged sword really, men or boys who are obviously gay faced hostility and ridicule as a defacto, expected part of their existence, but I didn’t experience that.
The pain that gay men who have personalities that are perceived as being an average straight male comes later in life, in the form of losing friendships and family relationships you put a ton of work into over years, or even decades- when those people find out the truth, and you face the devastation of being thrown away entirely, or being slowly pushed out and alienated in an awkward and slow death of connectedness (which is the worst to me, to be honest) and lastly, questioning where you stand with whoever is left, suspicious of whether or not they’re genuine based on how the first two treated you.
Basically, it’s a “pay now, or pay later” platform- either way, you’re going to be hurt in massive ways, and it’s going to alter how you perceive everything, and change your life experience permanently.
Sad it’s that way, but that’s the reality you will live as a gay man.

Well it is more than a bedroom issue. There are also public displays of affection, which back in the 70s I had an issue with but I have learned to live and let live. I'm from a small town and never saw a gay couple or even thought about gay people. Moved to Vancouver The West End in the early 80s, which was know as the gay side of town unbeknownst to me or my girlfriend. It was odd for me too walk down the street and see 2 guys in an alcove kissing. The 1st time I saw that I was aghast. Every single person I worked with was gay. Personally have no sexual attraction to men but I now understand people are allowed to be attracted to and enjoy the people they want to be with as long as they are consenting adults. Why anybody would be attracted to stinky, burping, farting hairy bristly males is beyond my understanding. If I were a female, I am pretty sure I would be gay! Women are just so much more sexy than men. I think it's the boobs ha ha!

Lol, honestly most people have no clue that I'm gay. I came out of the closet in elementary school by the forth grade. I remember clearly I was out of school for a week and came back and some of my friends were upset and said that these other kids said that they said I was queer and gay and they told them shut up or else he isn't gay. I looked at my friends and said why did you do that. They responded that it was wrong insulting. I told them clearly no I took no offense I am very much gay, queer take no offense, they were shocked. They said why didn't you tell us I responded you never asked, and honestly they just accepted it. Secretly after three of the five friends wrote me letters shortly after stating that they had crushes on me. I have never hid the fact I was gay. When I was 19 my best friend had been through a horrible abusive divorce and decided that to help her and her two sons it would be easier if she moved in with me, because she wouldn't have any bills and I had a big home in the country with alot of acreage in better school district. After two years of them living with me she asked me to raise the boys with her as their father. It's been the greatest honor of my life. They are grown adults now and we're still best friends and roommates, she is my straight female life partner. Now we both have dated over the years and find it funny when people tell me your wife is cheating on you or tell her I'm cheating with a man no less. For us it has been who's business is it how we lived our lives. I legally adopted the boys as soon as they both turned 18. I am masculine but I also wear everywhere I go a rainbow planet pendant several ancient Greek and Roman rings that all are part of gay history. I have tattoos on each shoulder one says homosexual in Japanese because I spent a good amount of time there and the other is the symbol for "The Sacred band of Thebes" anyone who asks about them I'm very blunt honest about the meanings. It amazes me how many people get upset like it is my responsibility to shout to them I'm gay even though I don't hide it in any way. Just because they don't assume that I'm gay doesn't mean I need to wear a giant label saying it so they are aware. People assume things and then blame the person when they are wrong just like my ethnicity. I am 6'2" 180lbs blonde hair a bit more brown now with gray on sides peppered in hazel eyes and light skinned, I don't speak with a accent except certain words that I try avoiding because I'm self conscious. They assume that I'm 100% white American in reality I'm French Moroccan and spent more time growing up in tribal West Africa and southeast Asia then in the USA. My grandmother Jewish her daughter my mother became Baptist and my father Muslim. I was raised mainly with grandmother and father with Sephardic Judaism and the Muslim religions simultaneously. My name that honestly gets shortened or confused in the USA is the only thing that gives away a big clue of ethnicity but in the USA they don't use accents officially so it just says David Ari Amir Roark Young and it is hard explaining that my first name is David Ari Amir not middle or last just first and most computer programs don't fit it so it's automatically shortened to just David Young usually or David Roark Young. So why should it be my responsibility to explain my ethnicity or my sexuality to others and what gives them a right or reason to be upset because they assumed wrong. Please forgive me for spelling and grammar mistakes also rambling I had a stroke and it effected my writing amongst other things. Thank you.

@@wallofgratitude lol I'm not a youngster but not old yet (depending on how old the personality you ask is). I started early, and I'm actually a student again because I want to get my master's degree in geology and in chemistry, for my own enjoyment to help me understand gemstones even more in-depth. I live my life and my grandmother and her sister were the two greatest influences in my life so I have no doubt your grandson is very lucky to have you. Sadly they are no longer here but always in my heart and mind.

@@NothingEverywhereNow I thought about it overnight and I think that I go on so much about it because I am tired of people being upset with me because I don't wear a giant sign saying I'm gay and they assume I'm straight expecting me to apologize like I intentionally mislead them because they assume gay men don't hunt fish like classic cars motorcycles are feminine and I don't fit the stereotypes in thier minds. Also I never came out of the closet really because I was never in it I was kissing boys when I was in the second grade and I got crushes on other boys and on Valentine's Day I let them know that if not before I never hid who I was and have always been the same way. People didn't pick on me because I would fight and was good at it and it became they were afraid of being called out for getting beat up by the queer kid and somehow that's worse than being queer to kids at that time in the hierarchy but also I was attractive tall and had countless times if someone entered the restroom while I was in it it was either the had a crush wanted no one to know or wanted to fight me and I never lost a fight or would date someone who would not be openly seen dating me. So that is why I write so much on it because it has happened so many times and I am tired of it. I'm sorry for rambling spelling grammar mistakes I had a stroke it effected my writing amongst other things. Thank you.

@@NothingEverywhereNow your fine I get it daily actually your wrong on one thing lol I have not written any books about being gay but actually written three books, textbooks and references the first two are on the magnetic and electrical properties of gemstones crystals and minerals and the third is on biasterism the star effect in gems that only appears when light comes from behind the gemstone so if not into the heavy science of gemology they're great for helping insomnia. Lol thank God apparently I'm good at lectures since they always fill up but helps contributing to my being long winded as well and no I'm not a old man yet I'm under fifty lol and even though I lecture routinely I am back in school for my master's in chemistry and geology I have others but these will help me understand gems in other ways and it's fun to me. I can relate to this because I grew up in a time when it wasn't safe to come out. People were nervous about losing their job or home. I find it refreshing to see young people being okay with anyone's sensuality. This does raise the question to people like me, who didn't deny but didn't put it out there. I am of course more attune to all the laws being enacted against GLBTQ.
I was so hopeful that we would just be judged as people who happen to be part of GLBTQ community.
