The tiniest pepper we have ever tried! was it hot?

We received a mysterious gift from our friend Jen: a tiny, unassuming pepper from a black plant. The story behind it was daunting - Jen's uncle had bravely tried one and endured an hour and a half of scorching, tongue-tingling agony. Our curiosity was piqued.
With caution, we decided to take the pepper. Would it live up to its infamous reputation? We popped the tiny pepper into our mouths, prepared for the inferno...
And waited.
But instead of a fiery explosion, we were met with... A normal Thai Chili. The pepper's heat was surprisingly tame.
