    Scotty is right when it comes to telling if a product is cheap or not just by noticing whether or not they put their company name on it. Even if it is made by another company contacted to make it a company with pride would put their name on it.

      Depends on the quality. I have 5 batteries for my 1 e-bike, but they are all from reputable manufacturers and CE marked (a loose equivalent of UL rated in Europe), and I've never had issues. I do store them on the brick surround for our unused fireplace and charge them properly, but it's been 8,000+ miles of trouble free use. It's the garbage batteries, and damaged or modified batteries you need to watch out for.

  • @Altema22
    @Altema22 6 місяців тому +2

    The wrench extender sure looks handy, and would give more options than my long handled wrench sets. I don't think it will replace my extra-long 15mm for serpentine belt tensioners, but you never know! I AM buying those seat covers for my wife's Honda, but the seats in my own car are so comfortable that I don't want to mess with them. That's a well built e-bike, but you are absolutely right; Class 3 should only provide power up to 20mph on throttle, 28mph when pedaling. That's for the US... in the UK, throttles are limited to the mind-numbing speed of 3.7mph. If you go 3.8mph, bobbies will swoop down, arrest you, and attack your e-bike with pitchforks before turning it over to an exorcist 😂

    As a 62 year old shade tree mechanic, I’ll use whatever gives me the mechanical advantage on bolts and nuts, I’d like to try this since I’m not getting any younger and if this can turn me from an old man into a gorilla under the hood, I’m all for it.

    As far as seat covers, I have Coverking on my vehicles. They have direct model fit and last a long time. The only problem I had with one was the rear seats on my Ram had red color inserts fade on the leather. The fronts didn’t. Found some leather dye that refreshed them and these seats still look good after 3 years. The seat covers were put in 2018. My wife’s car was put in 2016. Still look great.

    Naugahyde (cloth-backed plastic or vinyl) doesn't last well in vehicles, because of the the heat and cold. Plain, old, upholstery grade cloth covers are much more durable and, if treated with Scotchgard, can be cleaned fairly easily. I know this because my mother had an upholstery shop for about 30 years. Also, a lot of people don't know the difference between Naugahyde and leather, and they think they have leather. But it's not. 😂

    Pulled up to our accommodation for a 3 night stay last weekend.
    I have no sense of smell, but one of our crew said "I can smell diff oil".
    Yep, my 80 series rear diff pinion seal was leaking.
    Only had a basic (but good quality) set of sockets and spanners with me.
    Man the 14mm nuts on the tailshaft were tight. Had to use two spanners together and that's always sketchy, you can slip sideways and bust your knuckles pretty damn easy.
    I reckon I might grab one of those knuckle busters and chuck it in my tool kit.

      Toyotas are excellent vehicles, but when it comes to towing they are sub par. Make sure you change tranny fluid and rear dif/transfer case oil often and you should be OK if you're only towing occasionally.

    The best solution for less tools is manual transmission that never leaves you stranded on the road.

    Have had the same concerns about all the radar crash avoidance systems. I don't like adaptive cruise. I specifically don't want it on my vehicle. Makes cruise control annoying. I am driving the car, I am insured and licensed to drive the vehicle. I do NOT want another "driver" with control over basic driving controls. If I want to ride, I will take bus, train, plane. But if I am driving, I am driving. They really need to take all this chit out of cars and trucks in my opinion.

      I totally agree, even hate basic 'helpful' features like electric windows winding all the way down or all the way up when I'm actually just trying to make small adjustments of the window. Stuff like this can feel like you're fighting the car over control of things and becomes an annoying distraction. As always, more complexity means more to go wrong.

    I can't believe the government allows self-driving cars on the highway.! They stick their nose into everybody's business, things they have no right to do. But this where Public Safety is a concern they allow
