I swear to God that you could do an ABOM79 Tool Talk Channel, not just a series, with Abby, posting a video every single day! Within 6 months, I'd bet the subscribership would surpass if not double your current channel.
The bond between you two and your interactions, combined with Abby's thirst for history and knowledge, make for engrossing content and fabulous heart-warming entertainment. MORE OF THIS PLEASE!!!!
17:30 Abby is so right. In 2017 I brought to the class I taught an IBM hard disk (1965), an IBM tape reel (1969), an 8" floppy disk, a 5" floppy disk, a 3.5" floppy disk, a ZIP disk, and a DVD. I also brought a book printed in London in English in 1722. The only one of these data storage devices that could be read in our computer-lab was the 300 year old book. The computer-lab contained 32 desktop machines built in 2014 and not one of them was fitted with the necessary hardware to read any of those computer data-storage devises even though the oldest one was only 50 years old. But all 48 of my students could read the 300-year-old book.
Damn Adam, you sir are one lucky man, Abbey just melts my heart watching how she is totally in love with you and your craft.
Adam, I so thoroughly enjoy your videos when you are talking about your father and grandfather, all the way back to your earliest uploads.
Too cool to see Abby on the channel again!❤
Absolutely love the "Abby in the shop" videos
Cheers from Canada
OH YES Abby keep doing this I don't know what it is videos...I don't know all of Adam's tool are but I know a lot of them...I enjoy watching you learn about the tool and Adam talking the history.
Man every time he says his dad gave him something it hit me right in the feels. The memories are kept alive by all these awesome possessions. ❤❤
Also when Abby says she feels connected to you,but wants to be connected to the shop. Wow you have found yourself a wonderful companion and life time lover. Butterflies I love this. I’ve been following since you probably had around 50k subs. You have grow sooo much over the years. I haven’t been watching many videos that you have posted lately but I’m here to watch you grow. Such a humble man. Keep it up 👍
adam having 30yrs of history is just super awesome!!!
Love it! Let Abby rummage around the shop as often as you like. Hearing the history of a tool is great!
I love hearing the stories behind the tools! It brings them to life. Having Abby a part of this just makes it better. Her enthusiasm and her wanting to learn is just so great to see. The queen city grinder history and what is different about it versus the baldor buffer.
Love these episodes. It reminds me of going into my grandfather's shop.
I love seeing the old shop
Great content. Wholesome and educational. Abby has that genuine curiosity that is great to watch. Keep it up. So much history in that shop.
I like antique stuff, especially my wife.
Highly enjoyable! She picks an item; you explain its use; then demonstrate it.
Abby and Adam - Love this format. Great seeing the tools and exploring some of their history.
It's absolutely awesome that Abby shows such interest in what you do. Please keep these videos going!
I love this kind of content and as Abby sails everything has a story in the shop some know others not. I feel a sea story coming out of this, and I as an old squid love them.
Keep up the learning Abbybom, you're doing a great job at understanding what the tools are for
Love her enthusiasm.😊
Thread file who knew.
How about Abby make something in the shop for her office????
We did have a laugh when Abby said her hand were dirty. Dirty fingers are when they leave marks on a sandwich. 😅
This is turning into a great series. A real world exploration of the tools of the trade presented in the perfect fashion for conversation without getting too technical for the layperson to stay interested in. Might I suggest doing these by topic like Abby just suggested/ Cutters, Inserts, welding, measuring ect. A side by side comparasion like what it coming up on thread repair would be perfect.
Took Tuesday is great. I watch all your videos but TT is a favourite! Abby is such a sweetheart! So enthusiastic about things! From some seafood joint to your granddad’s toolbox. Abby is a treat to watch!
Keep this up. Very enjoyable.
Excellent video. I hope you appreciate how lucky you are to have a partner who is genuinely interested in what you do.
So true, so damn true.
You two are really good together and good for each other. Congrats. Nothing like finding your match.
Always nice to see Abby"s cheerful countenance in the shop!
Awesome to see the IAM union dues book. I am a current member at a IAM union shop.
That was a really cool video. Thanks Abby & ADam. We love seeing Abby's inquisitiveness & passion for stuff in the shop. She is adorable!...
The quality of the hand writing on that old note is amazing. I guess that is from an era when hand writing was taught in school to be done correctly. I have to do some research but I think my dad was in that union.
in the 1962-62 school year, the sixth grade, we spent one hour every single day filling sheet after sheet with cursive letters, words, and sentences. One. Hour. Every. Day. Forty years later my sons spend not one hour in class practicing handwriting. As adults their handwriting is unreadable. They write using a keyboard, a lot of writing.
It seems like all of the machine shops that make videos don't have work to make content so they are doing what ever, at least these videos are related content and very interesting. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK I ENJOY AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING BOTH OF YOU WEEKLY.
Always a treat when the ever smiling Abby makes an appearance ! Thanks guys, loved it !
These videos are awesome, I wonder if you would let Abby make a tool for your collection, something simple but it would be her own way of adding to your awesome collection of fine tools you have Adam!
So great, you 2 are adorable. It's nice to see another happy couple in this goofy world.
Love her being so involved in it all! I can't wait to see her involved in volved in learning the CNC machine aspect!
Abby is like my daughter wanting to know what type of tool is and used for. It is great to see Abby showing that a female can do what male can, just as well.
Abby is awesome, keep them going!
I really enjoyed this video...with you and your charming wife..It was like we were just hanging out together on a rainy winters day. Of course, I love old stuff (I'm 75...I can't believe that!)
That Lufkin radius gage patent number 1,797,279 was issued in 1931. The patent is actually for the leather holder. So that's the oldest it could be.
This old man greatly enjoys these videos!
The Jebco cabinet is an old ibm card cabinet. Each drawer holds 3000 cards and is removable so you could take the cards to another machine, such as a card sorter. Cabinets were very well made…that many cards was heavy.
Cool episode. Thanks guys!
Thanks, Adam & Abby. I would love to hear the full history of Booth Machine Shop. How it got started and the types of work that Adam's grandfather & father did. I think your viewers would be interested too. Thanks again!
I think a cool addition to this series could be making a sample piece with some of the tools Abby picks. For example drilling and broaching a hole with Abby so her and everyone can see it in use.
Abby looks great! So nice to see you guys together.
Machinist and educator. Great content. Every day is a learning day. ❤️
This is a great series. A real learning experience.
Abby is very cool. Her enthusiasom sp is very obvious.
That toolbox was amazing, great video thanks for sharing 👍
A wonderful episode!
Definitely one your top ten videos
That’s a machinist union book. That’s the reason why a union membership card is called a union book. Mine is from UA local 404.
Dang right. IUOE Local 324.
8:30 nothing better than a piece of family history !!! great toolbox
Right on! This is a great episode. Turning 79 soon, not too late to learn something.
Nice video Adam. Thanks for sharing some of your family history.
I absolutely LOVE these episodes with Abby! It is such a delight to see her interest in your shop, your tools, and your craft. You got yourself a keeper there! What a blessing.
It is so enjoyable watching you guys. Great video. And boy both of you guys are looking so good and fit. 2 beautiful peeps. Keep up the great work.
Nitralloy is a steel alloy designed for nitriding treatment. Love this series!
What if Abby find a tool , that Adam doesn't know why its used..😅
That would be very intresting..lol
Grtz from the netherlands Johny geerts
I'm loving these.. You guys make the best couple !
Let Abby know that my wife enjoys watching these. She's learning a lot about what I do in my garage shop...
Fun shows. Great to have a partner who's interested in what you do.
ADAM I thoroughly enjoy your Tool Tuesday shows
Adam and Abby my grandpa was a teacher in a machine shop and he worked on the planes in world war 2. It just brings back memories of him when Abby picks and Adam tells the story about his dad. Adam if possible what are the most memorable stories you had with them working in the shop
Hi Abby, it's great to have you ask these questions about the tools in the shop. I'm fascinated by this kind of work, and would love to do it myself if I wasn't so old. But I still like to see what kind of tools have been used in the past, so keep it up. Great questions.
I'm really liking these episodes. Keep it going! I am pretty familiar with all the tools, but the history or the story behind them are very interesting and noteworthy as well. It's really great that you found this way to present a different aspect of the genre. I am looking forward to your next episode of Tool Tuesday with Abby !!!😊
Good job Abby. I like this format, please continue. I won’t make any recommendations because I like what you come up with. Even though I might know what it is you hold up, Adam is able to add nuance to the explanation. I get a deeper understanding. Like Adam said Push Broach, basically the only one I’m familiar with. Because he said that I now am convinced there is a thing called a Pull Broach, probably with a different lead end that can be firmly grasped/chucked. Thank you for your time.
I thought that was very nice, a different perspective and even though I know some stuff, there is always much to learn. Thank you both.
I was a union member of the IAM which became the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. You have IAM decals from yesteryear.
I love knowing about the who, what, and when about the tools. Remember all this will be searchable for eternity. It's great to see you going thru older tools and giving the sort of patina of these things first hand. But your better half is so much better at the what the hell is this thing. Keep doing what you do....
The thread file demo was cool, not something I've seen before. i feel like most people now would have just grabbed appropriate sized die and chased the thread with that.
Awesome content - great shirt Abby
This is great, it provides new perspectives to thing that may be obvious by a tradesman.
Divorcing that shrew and marrying Abbey was the best move you've made in your life. She's awesome.
i've thought the same more than once over the years
Could be seen his ex wife ever?
Neatsfoot oil on the inside leather of the Lufkin radius gauge leather cases...
You've certainly gone a long way from grinding the propshaft endmills to the heat shrink tool holders you're using nowadays.
Abby has always been great on this channel and I hope to see more of her. She is always so interested in the tools and the implementation of the tools. I have to say that I LOVE thread files, for the last 10 or more years of knowing of thread files, just love them!!
This was super cute. I enjoyed the show and tell style of this episode.
I love going through old tool chests. So many back stories in them. Nice to keep people alive and tell their history.
Thread files have saved my bacon so many times on items irreplaceable or when disassembly isn’t practical.
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
I love this
Never a bad day when you guys are in the shop together
I say keep em' coming, this was fun once again! Thanks for the video!
Abby is sweet, she's a keeper...She should be Mrs. Abomb..
I think they got married, but if what you're suggesting is they both change their last names to Abomb, I'm all fer it!
Love this series, the tools are very cool, but the stories behind some of these really connect to the history of the craft. A thread repair/frozen fastener episode would be awesome!
Great job Abby. Really like these videos. I keep all the old paper I can find.
YES, more like this. Love it!
Very interesting video; a mix of history, heritage and how to use tools. Keep them coming. If I could suggest a tutorial, I would appreciate grinding HSS for lathe and metal shaper.
Good video,Adam and Abbey.A little bit of history, time people and context related to that tool.Nice bracelet Abbey, turquoise is expensive now days.Thank you.
What a beautiful story. Bravo for keeping the history alive.
I love these videos with Abby. It's really neat to see some of your tool collection. The history behind the tool boxes, the tools, etc. You could fill an exhibit at a museum!
Huberd's Shoe Grease- great stuff, pine tar and beeswax
Abby is asking the questions I’m too proud to ask 😊 There’s a lot of history in that old shop.
Do you still sell merch? I’d like to get an A-Bomb shirt.
MORE ABBY
I like the new shop as you grow it’s just part of it but you should do the one a week sns at the old shop
You’re such a cutie Abby, Adam is a very lucky man to have you.. You guys make a great couple. Thank you Adam for the years of work you’ve done on the channel, it’s awesome
Loved this concept. Thanks.
I have most of my Granddad's tools! Nobody else in my immediate family wanted them or even knew what they were. Some things that went back to when he was making instrument panels for B-29s at Lockheed in Marietta (then Bell aircraft) in the '40s! They say talent skips a generation and it's true! Pop barely knew which end of a screwdriver to pick up, and *I* became a Mechanical Engineer! 😁
Again, that was fun to watch. Like in that box, there are things that bring back old memories you haven't thought about for a long time.
Looking forward to seeing more.
Seven words to make algorithms love you.
So what we want to see is the smile and excitement Abby brings to the channel.
