Yo Sam. This video was truly truly outstanding! I mean really incredible! I'm moving to Spain / France / Italy to try and make videos like this for youtube! Man this was fantastic!
Collin Bartley the depth of field largely depends on the lens you use, my lens is f1.8 so I can achieve a shallow depth of field. What lens do you have?
Sam Jones Projects Currently just the kit lens. I know you said in the description that you used both, so I was just curious. What were you able to achieve with that? Also; any cheap-ish lens recommendations? Thanks :)
Collin Bartley the only clip shot with the kit lens is the part where I show my feet and then pan up to the woods. The kit lens is very limited when it comes to depth of field because of its large aperture. If I was going to recommend a lens I'd recommend mine, the Sony 50mm f1.8 (SEL50F18) as it's around the cheapest you'd be spending to get an f1.8 lens.
Sam Jones Projects Thank you kindly! On a side note, I make atmospheric music if you're ever looking for a track to use in one of your videos. I'd be glad to share! Thanks again for the advice!
Very Cinematic! Beautiful video! Loved the way you shot the video and edited later. Kindly share the video setting as I am a beginner with the same camera (sony ilce a6000). Did you shoot the video with kit lens or use extra lenses? Did you color grade the video post production? Kindly help!
My video record setting was set to 50p 28m (PS) which allowed me to shoot 50fps video. I then slowed this down to 24fps in Adobe Premiere Pro to create slow motion. I used the kit lens for the wide shot in the forest but otherwise I used the Sony 50mm f1.8 lens. Then I colour graded using my own video LUTs which I sell on my website - here's a link: www.samjprojects.com/services
i subscribed you the moment I say you paired 50mm 1.8 with the kit. Cuz that's what I have. and if you can do this with those. my goodness. Respect trickles down my nerves to my fingers and finally towards the like button
Which of the two lenses are you using the most in your shorts? I have the A6000 and the 50mm 1.8 from Sony and I wanted to start making shorts with this same mood, which is something I'm often feeling and would love to express in videos, but I got the 50mm only...and the Samyang 12mm F2 ultra wide which I recently picked up.
Sam Jones Projects Thanks for the information! I want to start filming with my A6000 myself and as I said I have these two lenses only...and the Samyang is actually pretty good too for filming! I love your editing and expecially coloring by the way. One more question, do you shoot handheld only?
nice grading, I think your video would have been 10/10 if you had more stable shots to give more dramatic experience. if you had a few wide angled shots wud have icing on the cake, amaziing video!
They will not work for video as they are sold as they are Lightroom Presets. But if you really wanted you can purchase them and convert them into a LUT for video. This is how you do it: ua-cam.com/video/Ss50VFJIdxA/v-deo.html
Love the cinematography and editing! Amazing color grading and story telling. I also love your Irish wolfhound, beautiful dog! I subbed! I make videos with my Sony a6300 and it’d be awesome if you could check them out and sub back:) keep up the good work
I really do hate to be this person but would you be able to look at the video on my channel I spent ages editing it and I would just like some feedback, thank you.

Hey, would you prefer this over a Nikon D5300 or is this better? I need to gift to someone so looking for a better option
KHILADI I prefer the a6000, because it's compact.
Yes it is compact because of mirrorless factor.
Awesome color grading!

This is majestic and I absolutely love the coloring, did you teach yourself or learn from someone??
William Renner I learnt myself through practice and watching tutorials on UA-cam.
this is really good! keep it up! what's the song?
All of the details are in the description.
Nicely done! I have an a6000 myself, and can never seem to get nearly that nice of a depth of field effect. Any tips? Very amateur over here :)

Collin Bartley that sounds great, I'll be sure to contact you in the future.
Amazing video and colors! I might be missing something but how is this 4K with the a6000?
Bader Kanawati the video was shot in 1080p but I exported in 4k to reduce compression.
Thanks :)
How 4k exporting can reduce compression?
higher bitrate in 4k on youtube))
But you should watch video in 4k on UA-cam, right? Or 1080p will have high bitrate (in comparison with 1080p export) too?
Very Cinematic! Beautiful video! Loved the way you shot the video and edited later. Kindly share the video setting as I am a beginner with the same camera (sony ilce a6000). Did you shoot the video with kit lens or use extra lenses? Did you color grade the video post production? Kindly help!

Nice video!
so beautiful
Ive watched this like 10 times lol, Came out really nice and dig the music. What software do you use to edit?
RonBabyStyle thanks! I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit.
awesome
Nice video
Hey
Can you do a tutorial on how to export it in 4k and what are your settings on the camera?
I just choose 3840 x 2160 when exporting in Adobe Premiere Pro. I record in 1080p but export at the higher resolution to reduce compression.
ok thanks
i subscribed you the moment I say you paired 50mm 1.8 with the kit. Cuz that's what I have.
and if you can do this with those. my goodness. Respect trickles down my nerves to my fingers and finally towards the like button
Very nice color grading. What settings did you use on the a6000 for shooting ?
Awesome video! What settings did you shoot for this? And what settings did you shoot for slow-motion?
I shot in 50fps and then I reduced the frame rate to 24fps in premiere pro to create the slow motion effect.
How did you shoot in 50fps? All I have is 60p?
My video record setting was set to 50p 28m (PS) which allowed me to shoot 50fps video.
Okay thanks so much!
Awesome Grading ! What App do you use ?
Nurul Arifin I edit in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Sam Jones Projects Okay :) Thank you.
which camera is is Sony A6000L or sony A6000Y.??? please tell i want to buy this camera i want ro know which one is better
I'm honestly not sure, I never knew there were different models. I'm guessing they are the same thing.
+AndreCorner I mostly use the 50mm because of the wide aperture. I only use the kit lens when I know I'll need a wider angle.

Hey, would you prefer this over a Nikon D5300 or is this better? I need to gift to someone so looking for a better option
Nikon d5300 is not really good for video-... AF is very very slow, and u cannot chnage aperture during shoot
nice grading, I think your video would have been 10/10 if you had more stable shots to give more dramatic experience. if you had a few wide angled shots wud have icing on the cake, amaziing video!
are you using adobe premiere pro for color grading?
Yep I am.
Tiansyah Isal qqwsw
Waw.. Mantap .semangat.. Semoga sukses sehat selalu
Sub balik ya..
WOWWWW
is a6000 could be 4k?
will the color grades on your website work with adobe after effects, are they just luts or
They will not work for video as they are sold as they are Lightroom Presets. But if you really wanted you can purchase them and convert them into a LUT for video. This is how you do it: ua-cam.com/video/Ss50VFJIdxA/v-deo.html
Sam Jones Projects shit thanks man
How do you get 4k from it? Or is this scaling?
Tomas Garsva it was shot in 1080p and scaled to 4K.
Did you shoot handheld?
Did you use any stabilization?
Jason Paul some of the shots used warp stabiliser effect in premiere pro, other than that I just shot handheld.
Sam Jones Projects Sweet! Thanks and awesome vid/projects
