Thanks for your nice comments
Definately up to your usual standard Mr Swinn. Thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. Looking forward to the followup. 🎉😊🎉
Cheers Tony!!
I was in Bangkok in March. Now I’m here in BKK again in August. Just checking in for my flight back to Melbourne tomorrow on Thai Airways economy red eye. I’m actually quite dreading it. I know I’ll spend a week in bed with a cold getting over it. I found the experience coming up here (9:30 hours flight) rather tedious. I’m getting too old for this! I tried to upgrade my seat using points and pay BUT unfortunately I booked with ons of those online apps, where you pay MORE to be able to make changes etc… so I got the basic ticket in which NO CHANGES or upgrades can be done. So beware travellers. Book with Thai Airways direct. Flying Thai Airways up here too Bangkok was CERTAINLY a better experience than flying from Singapore to MEL with Qantas last time……….( One meal service only and a hot pastry handed out thank you Qantas - really wonderful experience….. 😢)
Flew London to Bangkok with Thai back in February and was not impressed. They used to be really good but since the pandemic their service has deteriorated considerably. Food was really slow in coming and the choice somewhat basic. They also ran out of chicken curry on the return flight and offered only fish as an alternative, which I don't eat. To crown it all we had to wait an over an hour at baggage reclaim for our luggage at Heathrow, everyone was complaining about it. I am not flying with them again until their standards are back to what they once were. I have heard that Eva now offer a much better service than Thai.
The Thai flight was the best value direct flight we could get, and it wasn't cheap. The food was OK, but only just. The drinks on the flight had been really cut down. I could get a red and white wine, but not much else. Even to a beer they had to go back to the galley.
Thanks for yourcomments
@joehart17260 I flew THAI back in Sept 22 on their 787 that was on this route at the time. Awful flight, seats were hard and uncomfy, and I just couldn't get my 6' frame in a comfortable position (in Econ). Food was good and the flight left bang on time. Since then I've been EVA and used Premium Economy , which is really good, but the price of that is now expensive as well. EVA Econ is also good but their 777's are 3-4-3 in Economy whereas THAI have a bit more space being 3-3-3, plus one extra toilet.
Baggage delays are down to the airport and I wouldn't hold a torch for Eva Air's services. Flew with them on a return last January and I preferred Thai Airways. Qatar are a good airline if you don't mind the layover and a total flight time of 16.5 hrs?
my son lives Bangkok we travel most years but not since covid, but I hope this coming few months will take us there. Lovely flight you had, I have travelled Thai airways had a great time x
Let's hope you get there soon. Thank you for your comments
Significantly over the time threshold at Heathrow, nice!
Thanks for your comment 😀
Hello sir i love these travel vlogs,i fly with Emirates and have never flown direct because i fly from Birmingham, great content from you...New Sub.
Flying indirectly can be a great opportunity to explore new airports during layovers! But who knows, maybe one day Thai Airways will surprise us with a direct flight from Birmingham. Thanks for subscribing! Swinn
Can anyone recommend a window seat on the thai airways a350 ? I wanna see something on the ground not only the wing the whole time haha. Empty seats are from row 34 to 45. Maybe something in the end of the wing? I assume your seat was row 48? which is non reclineable
Very lucky !
Thanks for watching!
Flew to Bangers in November 2023 for £960 & this March for £840, better seats in November & was able to choose at time of booking, couldn't do that for the March flight. BA have just put Bangers back on route schedule, 3 times a week out of Gatwick, just booked for November £702.00, but if you want to choose aseat, you have to pay extra. Let's see if it's as good as Thai Airways.
Thanks for your comments. I am looking forward to BA flying again as I have lots of Avios to spend
@Swinn-FG I used mine 😜 got the flights for £202 each.
Hello, great video showing thai airways! I just wanted to ask is the song that started playing in the descend around 5:50 edited or is it actually playing on the plane? What is the song name by the way?😅
Hi, it was actually playing on the plane. No idea what is was called.
Cheers Swinn
A very soothing voice sir. Take care and thank you for your show .
Thank you for your nice comment
Thank you for the review. Currently thinking which airline we take if we go.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
£850 isn't bad at all. I paid £1005 in September '22 to fly at Xmas the same year with Thai airways . I then got a price in early May to fly on 15th ( out of season) and they quoted £1040!! So I flew with Qatar for £631, 16hrs but the saving paid for 80% of my months accommodation. Result!
Thank you and thanks for watching. We have just arrived back in Thailand. More videos soon!
@@Swinn-FG Cool. Looking forward to your video's.
Do they still use the OLD B777 for LON to BKK?? I hope not. They use the A350 to MEL which is nice and clean and new
They are still usiing the older 777 300er - but it has been done up a bit
@@Swinn-FG that’s good. I remember it used to have mood lighting. The A350 I flew on BKK MEL recently just had white lights, no mood lighting.
What time of month was that when you flew? Also was there not any good upgrades available?
That would have been in February. Thanks for watching.
Great video, which seat was yours?
56k I think 🤔
@@Swinn-FGMore lovely 56A , since you were sitting on the left of the aircraft , not the right. Nice video 👍
EVA air is best for direct flight. If you prefer 1 stop, go Qatar Airways
Yes, EVA is very good and has great service on board the plane. Thank you for watching
They did the same bs excuse with the turbulents when serving dinner and every other meal! Are they short staffing planes???
I think all airlines are cutting down on the cabin crew
All companies seem to care now are profits & their shareholders....not so much their customers.
Yes, since Covid they seem to be keep coming up with new and inventive ways to empty your pockets. Thanks for watching.
I prefer EVA AIr
Yes, Eva were good
rather you did it from another airport as the extra 24£ added for going into london Manchester doesnt have that and is also an easier airport to navigate.
