On seat comfort, most airlines operating the B777 (including EVA) have increased seat density in economy to 10-abreast from 9-abreast. Thai Airways is one of the few airlines that hasn't (yet). So it's not your imagination that it's more spacious on Thai than EVA.
Recently, I literally came back to Taiwan from LHR via flying EVA Air, and the experience was pretty great and comfortable. Even though this is my first trip alone to Europe since the pandemic occurred, I didn’t feel any panic or intense during this journey.
I went with EVA air once November 23 from Heathrow. Never again. I thought they gave crap service, staff ignored most of the paying people on the plane. Like it was beneath them to do anything.
Hi I've been watching a few of your uploads I'm going to Bangkok in a month's time, first time leaving from Heathrow with Thai airways direct flight. I've only been to Heathrow twice and the last time was 2009. Good upload very informative!
I have been traveling London-Bangkok for many years. Used to fly KLM, Thai-airways. I think the last fifteen years I have been flying EVA. My opinion fantastic airline. I have to admit I do go business class. Your experience looks very different to mine. Enjoyed your video. Thank you.
Descent starts approx 30 min out of the Destination - cruising altitude is around 36 - 37K feet, so more than 1000 feet per minute is perfectly normal. Although you didn't seem to enjoy the flight, I enjoyed the video !!. THAI do seem to have a better product these days, but they don't offer premium economy, which I prefer to fly as my 6 '2 frame struggles to fit in an economy seat. Great video, thanks for the upload.
I've flown with Thai Airways 80% of the time and always found them very acceptable. Food was good and delivered in a timely fashion, then swiftly collected when consumed. Except one time when I upgraded my return to business class and had to beg and prompt the stewardess for alcoholic beverages! I flew Eva Air on return journey last Jan and was mildly disappointed. But by far the worst was Jet Airways. Im actually glad they've pulled out of Heathrow since covid 19. Thanks for your review.
@@Swinn-FG My point was I'd upgraded to business class to the tune of £645 after I'd already paid £1070 for a economy class return flight and had zero problem getting a drink going out, yet had to beg on the return journey after an expensive upgrade. Also this was in May 2010, way before any phony virus. Also forgot to say I flew with Qatar Airways in May-June '23 for a paltry £631, with the only drawback being a 1hr 50min layover, as opposed to a Thai direct of 12hrs. But the saving paid for my hotel for 3 weeks. Result!👍
Thank you Swinn. That was brilliant as always and must look out for the oldies channel through the airport next time. According to my other half i must be an old fart now as i`m listening to Boom radio in uk. 😊. Hope you enjoy a wonderful holiday.
Good one mate! When I fly EVA I book Lounge access. Last time they had excellent cauliflower cheese and freshly warmed bread rolls all washed down with a couple of glasses of Rioja! Well worth the money but I suggest not to fly on a Sunday. I also pre-booked Seafood meals on both legs and every meal was excellent!!!
I booked my Parents and I on Korean Air from SFO to BKK and Phillipine Air from Viet Nam to SFO as well as Viet Nam Air to Vietnam. We're staying in Jontien and tour of Viet Nam. We paid $1019 r/t. Korean Air has automated checkin.
Loving these flight videos , i think the trick is dont drink to much while waiting or during the flight, and go to the toilet just before boarding, i only have a boots meal deal (only available at boots near the departure gates), the big boots in T2 waiting area seems to have been aquired by london pride pub, !, a cheese & ham sandwich a pkt crisps plus a red bull sees me through to boarding , once on board, complementary orange juice and a couple of cans of beer plus a white wine and a couple of coffees (with meals) sees me through 12 hour flight with only one or two max pee breaks, some say alcohol and flights dont mix, but 2 tins of beer and a couple white wines has never made me "kick off" during a flight, usually the opposite, knocks me out for a few hours usually, i cant wait to play the 70+ fast track card, although my top tip is if the 1st immigration Q is long, keep walking a few yards and there is a 2nd immigration Q, usually a lot less busy than the 1st Q, worked a few times for me to,.
I came out on Eva, my first choice years ago but not anymore but like most of us it's all down to cost, I'm traveling next month with China eastern so I'll wait and see, I have sadly got to rtn to the UK in June with Eva, Thai air has just got to costly for me, sadly.
Interesting check in issues. I had the same problem at bag check in recently. I hope Eva can sort it out as it seems to be a Heathrow airport rather than Eva.
Everybody told me to fly on Emirates, so I did. Dublin to Dubai and Dubai to Bangkok. Dublin flight was awful, I must have got the worst seat ever. My arse still hasn't recovered. Coming home, Bangkok to Dubai on A380, I had to use 6 cushions to sit on, seat was really hard.
I personally could not stand a 12 hour flight I much prefer the half and half flights that Emirates and Qatar among others do. On another point can you increase the volume you record at as I found it a strain to have to listen to you and missed some parts because of it, not much good if people can't hear you.
Hi Graham thanks for watching and your comments. Only just today I have received a new lavalier mic from Amazon. So I am hoping this might cure some of my sound issues.
The trouble is, if you want to fly to far-off places we have to accept these sort of things. I have been flying to Thailand for many years and all airlines seem to use the spray. This is the official line: Airlines spray a non-harmful insecticide in airplane cabins to eliminate insects and prevent the spread of diseases like malaria, Zika, and yellow fever. The spraying process involves using an insecticide approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Old and dated by the looks of it, think I will pay the extra and fly with a top notch airline (Emirates) sitting 11 or 12 hours without getting off, can’t be good for the body or your head 😮

That would be why then. Thanks for your comments
EVA also has 9-abreast, but just not on this route

That's a shame! We found their service quite good.
Enjoyed the video. I flew twice last year EVA to Bangkok , business & premium economy, it really is worth the extra money !
Yes, premium economy seems good value! Thank you for watching, and your comments.
Yes just returned back with Eva and was very impressed with the food quality and staff service.
Yes, good airline. Thanks for watching.

Not according to the first person commenting on them 😮

That price seems good. I hope you and your parents have a great trip!
What do you prefer to fly from LHR to Bkk - Thai Airways or EVA Ariways? And why? Thanks!
The little more seat width with Thai might have tipped the balace, but then the inflight service and food was really good with EVA. 50:50

I looked at China but the stopovers were simply too long at the time.
I Have experience Eva Air jet, Great video ❤
Thank you for watching 😀
Yes I have 12 hour stop on my way back and 6 coming back a month later
A bit too long for me I think. Have a grear trip!
Interesting check in issues. I had the same problem at bag check in recently. I hope Eva can sort it out as it seems to be a Heathrow airport rather than Eva.
Yes, I think you are right. Thanks for watching
Being a prerson of 188cm I could never fly long haul in economy torture class, I'll will spend the extra for business class comfort
Business Class is certaily better! Thanks for watching
Alright mate what seat was you in?
Not sure as I write. I think it was 55 window
Sure there is free wifi at airport, so you could have used and Eva air app would have worked 😀
Thanks for watching
Less hassle coming over here on a boat mate have a good one chok dee 👍

Sorry to hear this, it is long old flight if your seat is uncomrtable. I found the economy seat upstairs are better. Window seat only 2 across.
How was the cost ,? Reasonable
The price was not much different from Thai - about £800. But you can carry more luggage
I enjoyed the vid thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
