I wish we had gotten more story with the people from the team, like backstory and character development. As it was, it was still interesting (and the art direction was really nice)
I honestly really loved the story of this game. I was hooked for a long time, and a lot of theories I had ended up falling into place with all the reveals. The body horror is immaculate and the 3 boss cutscenes were *chefs kiss*. It does seem like the leveling up needed more refinement. And the last few characters did feel just kinda slapped on. I think the game could've definitely been streamlined more story-wise. Every story should've been a lot more linear and tied together. But overall, this was so fun to watch
The body swapping mechanic reminds me of an old game called Messiah (I think it's on GoG). Aside from that, hilarious watching all the forgetting buttons mid combat, behind the scenes nom-versations and general insanity from this game xD
Such a cool concept, I can tell the devs put a lot of care into the game especially since you can possess almost any NPC. Some of the enemies were a lil goofy looking tho 😂
Alright, final thoughts. After having seen most of the game, I'm buying and taking a whack at it. I got vibes of Kamen Rider Amazons through the interactions of Julee and Alex, and I like Kame Rider, so I think that helped out here. Really gives me the feel also of the ending of Siren Blood Curse, what with the whole "Loop to always kill the monsters" aspect that Alex had going on. Honestly, if they can make a more cohesive (and apparent) story, I'd love to see more.
This is a beefy one but I've finished it! I think up until Anita's story, it was fairly great then Alex's story dragged out wayyyy too long and I'm losing my mind over how at the ending, nothing ultimately changes lmao. Nevertheless, super nom playthrough and thank you for playing with us!
I have conflicting feelings about Siren as a franchise. One part adoring the world, monster designs and character stories. The other loathing the need to replay so much of the game to progress the main story, not even a new game+ type of thing. Still, really enjoyed watching this game. (probably cause I didn't play it personally lol, thank you Minxy for struggling for us)
There's.... Alot, to be said about this possession mechanic. I'm curious where the hell they are going with it before I give my personal thoughts, tho. Lol.... Seems to be missing a bit of logic, in terms of how the spirit possesses things tho. That's my initial thoughts, at least. Lol. (gurl, why would any entity just.... Bounce around, using hundreds of meat sacs a day, gaining very little from the experience, as they are in there for literal minutes at a time.) Also, the whole breaking their bones and blood to use as weaponry, dealy. Lol.
I've seen the animations from this game literally everywhere EXCEPT on let's plays lol, so this should be fun.... Also it's notoriously bad outside of those really good looking cutscenes lol.
The cutscenes and body horror were pretty cool. Shame that I just knew that the game would make absolutely no fucking sense once they added in time travel, and I was right because it hardly ever works. It just feels like a tool to drag out the game by adding unnecessary repetition. Shame, because the concept of a body hopping mythological creature collecting a team of puppets is really cool. But the time travel fucked it.
