That truck sounds beautiful. I miss trucking but I’m tired of these DEF trucks that have any sound anymore. There’s nothing better than a warm sunny day with the window down and listening to the engine talk.
That is one clean running engine. Not to much smoke coming out. But plenty enough to show it runs good. I see all these guys on UA-cam trying to make their trucks “smoke free”. That’s the worst thing to do. Letting a diesel breathe is common sense.
I think I got lucky on this video haha cause I have tried in the past with a lot of wind noise. I think what helped was I secured the phone to the ladder on the front of the trailer so wind couldn't blow past I am guessing.
Ohhh man! Sounds so good! Love seeing a truck rolling coal too! There's nothing sexier than a truck that can make a nice cloud of coal for sure!! 🤤😍💦💨💨 love seeing smoke man!!
@@investindocomeverton6151 he said he don't know what motor it has he's a log driver and man it makes me made cause u wanna ride wit him he said the hp is 400 no higher
@@thomaswells1418 The Freightliner Columbia propably has a MBE-4000 engine (MBE = Mercedes Benz Engine). Paired with a Eaton Fuller non-syncronized manual transmission.
Sweet truck, sounds freakin' awesome! Interesting to see a Series 60 smoke while jake braking too. What's the HP and how many speeds on the transmission?
At the time of the video it was stock 5in exhaust and some cheap mufflers with 6in tips. Currently has 7in DP with Pickett elbows and a 24in resonator before the Y pipe.
Big Cams are amazing, my fire department I run at has a 400 Big cam and I love how it starts out real quiet but then it comes to life. The motor out lasted the ladder and frame.
Starting off in high gear like that is what I would expect to see from a company driver. Not an owner operator like yourself. I guess maybe you like clutch jobs. Who knows. Nice truck either way

Yea we want to hear the roar of all engines
That is why you run an older engine.
It sucks now we have to deal with electronic logbooks too
Despise to be amazing and beautifull , after 6 hours straight listening it its annoying
Nicholas Rodriguez I mean u can buy an old truck, and won’t have any electronic logs because the engine/truck hasn’t have the technology to have it.
I just got my truck back with a new series 60. It is super quite and pulls hard. Literally impressive 475
Didn’t know a 60 series could sound that good
Agreed, I'm partial to Cummins but this is just as good.
even better because that is even with muffler

I wish i could like your comment a million times
98 12 valve it’s sad how all the emission laws require diesel truck to filter out the smoke
Martin Maziarczyk I can tell you know nothing about big diesels
I agree with you 98 12 valve, if common sense to let any diesel engine breathe, no matter the size
thats one fine soundin series 60 you got there driver
This did something to my soul 🙂👍
no jokerr
I could drive that truck all day long! Sounds awesome 👍
😌 Such sweet beautiful music...
Awesome 👊
Love Peterbilt sounds
I have a 98 379 with the detroit and it does fine. I get 5.7 sometimes 6 mpg if I drive it right and I pull a curtain trailer.
What a sexy sounding truck ya got there!! 😍 love that it rolls coal too !! 😍👌💨💨💨 love a smokey Pete!
At my fire department, our ladder truck has a C12 and it needs to be straight piped
Gotta get some guys together 1 night n just do it lol!
Made my day
Great sound 👌🏻👌🏻
Nice 👌
That was music to me LOL love them trucks
DD 12 and DD14 is beautifull. Sound motor.
there's no detroit dd12 and dd14
there are only dd13 dd15 and dd16 (also in the video is detroit 60 series not any of dd series)
i love the sound of that Green Machine i miss my 12.7 strait pipe my 2007 14L pulls better but the EGR kills the noise.
bigriem delete your egr
what a beauty,now this is a truck
Song for my ears
Glad you like it lol. Im back in this truck after a year away and enjoy driving this old truck a lot.
Nice video.
Ehat did you use to record the video? And also audio?
Thanks, It was an old recording so either a galaxy S4 or Note 4 I don't remember
Eric E
Wow really. Was wondering how you got such nice audio without the sound of wind.

Peterbilt 379 is the soundest truck
it's depends on engine not truck
Barr-tech?
Sounds similiar to a 1995 Mercedes-Benz LS 1941 (OM 447 LA engine, 410 hp). 12.0 L, straight 6.
My dad drives a freightliner columbia and it has a mercedes but it does not soundblikebit

Great sound to hear out in the country like a train coming. Not good in the city
I like such kind of smoke

Colin Peterson just a 430hp and a 15speed
Hey Colin it look's exactly like the NYS Thruway between Pembroke & Buffalo I-90 ?? Or there about's ..?
She sounds beautiful

Mariokenworth w900 the Pete is from my last job. just found these clips I recorded 2 years ago. still driving the orange W9
eclipse85k OK OK.. Just keep me posted with the kdubb driver I miss her
Wow is all I gotta say
The 60 series sounds better than Cat and only the M11/ISM and N14 sound as good as the 60 series
Jimbo S117 big cam cummins as well
Big Cams are amazing, my fire department I run at has a 400 Big cam and I love how it starts out real quiet but then it comes to life. The motor out lasted the ladder and frame.
Big cam 855s, N14, and 60 are very similar engines on how the engine brake is set up

I'm betting his clutch lasts a long time it's not being abused
How he took off won't take that much life off the clutch, its when they rev up engine while in a high gear destroys them.
