    Hello, I have kitchen cabinet doors like this that are being ruined by water drops, coffee drops, drink drops, and grease. Every time I clean them....they get worse & worse and start to peel, absorb water, and puff up making them no longer flat & smooth. Instead of sanding & repairing these, I would rather just cover them up with vinyl. Is it possible for me to cover the kitchen cabinet doors with vinyl while they are still hanging on the cabinets? Or should I remove the cabinet doors from the cabinets? I want to do one at a time. I Love that you posted this video. I have been looking for a solution for a very long time! Thank you for the video and for any replies!!!

      Oh another question: Are you using vinyl with the sticky backing?

    • @lenscapp
      @lenscapp  3 місяці тому

      @@nourahroberts6705 Did you really just ask that question?!🤣

    • @nourahroberts6705
      @nourahroberts6705 3 місяці тому

      Yes. I ask this because there are a variety of types of vinyl. I apologize for not knowing the exact names of the following types of Vinyl. Version 1 has sticky backing that is "super sticky"....more like a permanent version. Version 2 is semi-sticky (allows you to remove it once or twice to re-position).. and is not as super sticky as version 1. Then there is another sticky type of vinyl (Version 3) that is removable....has a sticky backing, but not too much sticky at all. That type will allow you to remove, re-position & re-use much more than version 2. Then there is a 4th version of vinyl (Version 4) that has no sticky backing at all. It is often used to cover an item, or used for artwork. It depends on what you are using it for. This version can also be heated for different application types. Please correct me if I am wrong here: I am assuming that the vinyl that you are using to cover the cabinet doors is "very sticky" and would be difficult to remove? Is that correct?

    would you recommend wood filling the holes if you intended on changing handle positions?

    Would a hairdryer be an okay substitute if I don't have a heat gun available?

    • @lenscapp
      @lenscapp  2 роки тому +1

    why not put a piece of vinyl to completely cover the door and then heat the centre to sink it,all done in one go..would that work!!

    • @lenscapp
      @lenscapp  3 роки тому +3

      No it doesnt work,the vinyl just pops straight back out when it gets warm. Hence doing it this way!

      Ive literally just finished doing 12 of these today,but the customer wanted the insides covered too so made the count 22. It took 10 hours in total, its cutting the vinyl etc ready which is a total pain!
