  • My area has gotten Ridiculous amounts of rain in the last few months, so I figured I'd check on the culvert on Broad Meadow Brook to see If there was anything against the pipes, after heavy rains.
Description of actions: Walking along the town Highway and talking to the camera in selfie mode to the bridge where the stream goes under the road.
I walk back a couple hundred feet and step over the guard rail, walking into the treeline. Upon entering the woods, the stream is on my left. I pan the camera to the left to show the underside of the bridge before turning the camera in the other direction, and stepping into the stream with rubber boots.
I walk through the water slowly, being sure not to get my feet wet. I step up onto the stream bank as I notice the water getting deeper. The stream is on my left as I step over small bushes and sticks snap beneath my feet on the forest floor.
I step over puddles beside the stream and reach the culvert pipes, but there is so many sharp picker bushes, I have to walk up to the train tracks where the pipes take the water beneath the railway line. The ground surface is granite rocks as I walk over the top of the culverts.
The slope is steep as I carefully make my way down to the water's edge, some rocks tumble under foot. The culvert pipes are on my right and the rush of water fills the air. The water from the stream is flowing into the pipes at half of their diameter. I briefly stick my microphone into the culvert pipe where the water is rushing to the other side.
I notice a stick sitting against the culvert and toss it into the water.
Satisfied with the outcome of the video, I announce its conclusion. But when walking back home, I notice some square fencing lying on the ground near the culverts. I resume filming showing the fencing that used to cover the pipes. Some debris built up against the fence and the water went up and over the tracks washing them out.
    Thanks for watching my video.

At 8:40 mark, I wanted to reach through the screen and clear the rest of the branches and debris in front of that culvert. I can report that the branches and debris resisted my virtual efforts!

I'm right there with you! I wanted to as well, but the water was too deep and fast, I will be back out when the water calms a bit.
