      I love it too, and I feel the need to plead with you to reconsider that bands like this are not made anymore. While we all have our own unique tastes, I encourage you to use youtube to find new(er) stuff. Maybe you haven’t gotten the right launch pad yet to get a good algorithm going, idk…. While totally unique in their own right, I have a sneaking suspicion that you MIGHT also enjoy Pure Reason Revolution. Check them out if you haven’t already.

    This has got to be one of the best songs of all times. No other bands withstanding, Glu rocked and Reilly was a musical genius, IMHO! They don't make bands like GLU anymore, dude, They had IT! Twenty yrs later, I'm still their #1 fan. What a shame when I think of what they may have went on to do. OUR LOSS! RIP, Dave- We love ya! And we're STILL listenin'!

    I received the American Recordings 1995 CD sampler when I got "Comix Zone" for the Sega Genesis for Christmas. And this song was included with it. I would listen to it over and over again. You don't hear music like this anymore (at least to me anyways). I'm glad that there are people who still listen to this song and still enjoy it. :D

    I can see
    See the signs
    I've been waiting here for you
    But nothing's getting through
    I am gone
    Up in the clouds
    Praying I can turn
    Turn myself around
    A year ago
    I gave it a year
    I hoped it wouldn't happen
    Now it's here
    It took so long
    I can't carry on
    I know the reason that you left me
    You had nothing more to give me
    No more love
    I can see
    See your eyes
    I can feel your heavy stare
    I run my fingers through my hair
    I am high as one can be
    And I hope I don't come down
    I hate when I come down
    A month ago
    I knew you lied
    Took my life into your hands
    You just don't understand
    How it feels to be free
    Know the reason that you left me
    You had nothing more to give me

    I flew from St. Louis to Boston to see David's acoustic show at TT the Bear's in 2001 I think. He wore his pajamas and played the Depeche Mode song "Stripped"... he also had to stop one song and restart it because he got choked up in tears. After the show I talked to him for about 30 minutes and he was so down to earth, we traded AIM info and talked about why GLU broke up. I had so much respect for him and can say he will always be on the list of the most influential people in my life. RIP

    to those who mentioned the layne staley comparisons: dave was a good friend of mine. one day during a final 2 week visit with him in Manayunk, as we walked through downtown philly, trying to decide which cheesesteak place to eat at, he mentioned how much he loved layne's music and how his life mirrored staley's. he said he felt he would even die like layne, who had died the previous year. indeed, he and layne both died at age 34 after years of heroin abuse. HOWEVER, dave WAS clean when he died.

    It's funny because I was thinking:
    NIN - Some of the singing
    AIC - Singing and harmony
    Faith No More - Some of the beats and singing

    This is the most played EP I own. I bought it in 1996 and I still listen to it all the time,
    AIC + NIN + CURE+= EPIC GLU
    AiC = singing style
    NIN = anger/musicality
    CURE = lyric writing
    Still awesome and RIP David
