      Rakeem Foster Joe is great too. There’s just nobody like Ethan Becker.

    Best line ever for, camping, cutting, living, not dying, saving and owning... "and the guts come out in an hurry."

    I've had mine for two years or so, and I love the knife. Keeps a good sharp edge and easy to tough up. The handles are good, I've got the stock coyote tan handles. The nylon sheath needs to be replaced as soon as you can. I went with leather. Easy to water proof and very quiet. As for the finish, some have said its a bit rough and caused drag, not that I've noticed. But if you do, get some steel wool and smooth down the finish to where you want it. Don't take it all off, because its there to protect your blade from rust. If you want to remove the handle scales you will need a 9/64 Allen key. The edge is a 20 degree flat grind. Very sharp. Have a good one.

    Actually Canadian Mors Kochanski said "The general-purpose bush knife should have a blade as long as the width of the palm, although blades half or twice this length are within acceptable limits." I've owned the BK16 for quite a few years now. It's an amazing skinning knife, I take it on all my hunting trips. 👍

      Thank you for the explanation. My hand runs big. I went with multiples in Ontario TFI for that reason and because it had the better factory sheath. Most factory sheaths are an afterthought.

    I absolutely love my BK16 with aftermarket micarta scales. I've bought and then sold so many other brands of knives that cost less and many others that cost hundreds more. Ultimately this knife is perfect.

    BK16 is easily my favorite fixed blade. The goldilocks size. Super comfortable handle and it’s big enough to use as a big knife but it’s really light weight and at home for delicate skinning.

    Can you do a 4 inch Kephart just like the BK62? I love the BL62 I own 4 of them it is the knife that I measure all other knives by! The tapered tang is amazing and I wish more knife makers did it!!

    I've had my knife for a good 7 or 8 years now I think. If I had to buy all over again I think I'd still choose the BK16. Terrible stock sheath but I'd rather pay less up front and then spend the money I otherwise would have spent towards a nice sheath I actually want. Stock handle scales are ok, but replacement aftermarket ones are cheap enough.

    Can you tell me what tool I need to remove the scales. It appears to be a unusual Allen wrench size.

      9/64 Allen key. Not metric. Any good hardware store, or home center should have one.

      Flat grind, 20 degree's

    • @christianflores7583
      @christianflores7583 3 роки тому

      The early production runs had some batches with a saber grind, very hard to come by and very desirable, nowadays they only make the full flat grind which is better for hunting and slicing anyways

    I like the concept, but I never became friends with the handle and how it narrows at the middle finger position. Its just to thin there in my opinion, and to thick back where the pinky finger rests.

    Great knife No Doubt, and I can live with the scales(or replace them easily w/micarta) but Why the Really crappy sheath !??! It Cannot cost that much to replace that P.O.S. sheath with a descent kydex or plastic sheath ! Love All my kabar/Becker knives, but Really think Kabar should replace that crap of a sheath !
