Hi Essence! I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your incredible tutorials-they’ve been such a huge source of inspiration and comfort for me during a difficult time. After losing friendships and family members to cancer, your content has brought so much joy back into my life. As a South Indian woman of color with medium-dark skin and a neutral golden undertone, it’s so hard to find creators who look like me. You’ve made me feel seen and represented in a beauty community that often puts people like us into boxes and discourages experimentation with different styles. 💛 I’ve always wanted to try Chinese-inspired makeup looks, but it was difficult to find proper guidance as someone with medium-dark skin. I often came across gatekeepers who made me feel like these styles weren’t meant for people who look like me. On top of that, I had been fed the narrative by Sephora employees and others that medium-dark or dark skin should only wear darker colors because they’re "best" for us. Your tutorials have completely shattered those misconceptions and empowered me to embrace and experiment with all kinds of tones-warm, cool, and neutral. Your recommendations have taught me so much about my neutral golden undertone-what suits it and what doesn’t-and it’s changed the way I approach makeup entirely. I’ve loved following your bold makeup looks as well as your more everyday styles-they’re so versatile and inspiring. Even though a few products you’ve recommended didn’t work for me, the majority have been perfect, and I’m so excited to keep trying more of them. I can’t wait to purchase the Wedding Wish palette, the Colourpop palette you use, your powder blushes, and your lip product recommendations. Your ability to match inspiration photos and make makeup look stunning on skin of color is truly unmatched, and it gives me the confidence to experiment with my own style. Thank you so much for the time, effort, and passion you put into your tutorials. You’ve made such a difference in my life as a South Indian woman of color, and I can’t wait to share some photos with you soon to show how much your work has inspired me. 💗
Wow this comment really made my day! I’m sorry for any loss you’ve faced and I want to thank you for sharing your experience! I’m so glad my tutorials have been able to help you and inspire you. I’m always trying to make my tutorials as diverse and inclusive as possible. I’m so glad you’re loving the looks and the products I recommend. I will always value you and you’re one of the main reasons why I do what do❤❤❤
Is there a reason you don’t talk when doing your makeup. I watched some older video and I really enjoyed the feel when you where talking as you’re doing it 🩷 anyway loved the look
Hi sweetie! I had my front tooth removed when I cracked it in November and haven’t received a replacement yet. I’m a bit self-conscious about it 😭 I should get a temporary one soon and then will go back to talking in my videos!
I just started watching your videos and love them ! Just a little constructive criticism as a view and someone who has worked in the industry I think you should really work on your thumbnails! They are not good and I really think if your thumbnails were better you would get way more viewers!! And the thumbnails are part of the reason people are not clicking on these videos and just scrolling past them.
I get that! I’ve been working on them! I use to have a format that I thought was nice and then I started making them like this and my CTR has been higher than it’s ever been, maybe because it bad lol I’ll keep working on them!
