Virtually every single one of them will be loaned and and eventually sold without seeing a single minute of action for United’s first team in the Premier League in the years to come. What is ESPN FC playing at? The goal of a match like this is to maybe find the one Mainoo type player who can break through from the academy to play on the first team.

That’s not the issue. The issue is these ESPN FC pundits are literally looking for any reason to roast Ten Hag. I’m not even a United fan and it’s blatantly obvious. These pundits constantly talk about United needing to raise “standards” but when Ten Hag directly and specifically discusses raising standards they go in on him. In all seriousness, these pundits are just trolling Ten Hag at this point and it’s getting obnoxious.

I want ten Hag sacked but you can't be judging him in a pre season game against Rosenborg when only Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Evans, Mount and Rashford were the first team players involved and played just 45 minutes while the rest were youth players playing against Rosenborg who are still playing their season.
You can when he's calling out players in a meaningless game especially if they are fringe players, it's pointless him doing that. He invited criticism by having a go at his players

I’ll say it to you again, it doesn’t matter who is on the pitch for United. Ten Hag is instilling standards and expectations into the entire squad. From the first team down to the academy levels. It’s a club wide culture problem he is attempting to fix. Standards have to be met at all levels. Including in these preseason matches. Instead of players just flipping it on and off when they feel like it.
