I’ve just realised I have been doing the last thing where I don’t have my weight in the correct place, no wonder my dance looked weird, thank you!

Hi Amanda, thanks for your videos,I always find them helpful as an adult learning ballroom. I have a question, when you prepare for competition in the open dances or the 5 dances or cha cha, rumba, jive, paso &samba, do you prepare choreographies for each dance and use them throughout or you just improvise since they are not exhibition/showdances? I'm asking because at the schools which I have been to in Namibia, when you are bronze level, you just practice the bronze steps in no particular order and just dance those steps on competition day in no particular order. I am always failing because it's competition and you do not know what step is coming next lol(kinda feels like improv to me). Is that how you guys do it as well ?
