- Montpelier, OH: Monthly test of the outdoor warning sirens in Williams County, OH. This STL-10 came from Franklin County, OH, was restored and installed at the county fairgrounds in Montpelier. Montpelier also has another STL-10, a model 5 and two Whelen Vortexes. All of Williams County tests on the first Monday of the month at 11:00. Enjoy!
Sounds exactly like the silent hill movie siren
It is, well the same type, lol that's why I'm here because of silent hill.
@@CH_343 this is not the silent hill siren, the actual silent hill siren is a french siren of the same port ratio
The silent hill siren is actually a KM Europa siren, They are found all over France and are still active.
@Iowan Siren Recordings it's actually 8 port running on 50 hz so it's a bit slower.
Calvin Mayer That's a hollering siren
theres a red STL 10 on Green Bay city hall in Green Bay WI
I recently took an interest in the sirens in Green Bay. I saw the one you mentioned on Google satellite. There is another one on the west side on a pole at 9th and Ridge Rd, and perhaps another on the roof of the LaFarge corporation at the end of 9th St by the river. There are 60-some sirens on the Brown County system, I'm visiting them all!
Dangerous Dan Be careful now, they could be *STH* - 10s, and not STL 10s.
There sure is a lot of "old" sirens, still being used even in "this" new century.
Why replace something that's working fine for 50+ years with some modern pile of junk that'll fall apart in 10 years?
And could use new bearings too
is that snow coming out of the siren?
Yep
+Badischer Heuler well since the siren is old it could of been siren rust debris
silent hill confirmed !
You can hear a metal-on-metal *clank* the second before the STL goes off. Anybody know what that probably was?
Pat Catania motor starter
Ah, thanks Jeb.
Nice stl 10 I have a model 5 siren in my town
Nice!
Franklin County OH is my hometown
same
Ok there silent hill.
That sounds like San Francisco ATI sirens
I
That's because San Francisco's ATI HPPS16 and HPPS32 sirens play a recording of the STL-10, the siren the ATI replaced.
I have the same in my city
More like a T-121 since it has 8 horns.
Its a 7 port siren. It doesn't have 8 horns
+Carlos Aponte actually it does have 8 horns because seen another video of one with 8 horns u just can't see the 8th one because it's behind the intake hole under the siren
It sounds like a French siren
It does? I always thought these were 6 port...
7
chopper is soooo slow it looks looks like it through the horn
All hail the true Silent Hill siren.
That thing doesn't look restored lol
Sounds great though
Old things are usually built pretty well.
and if they kept them they would be worth a fortune
That sounds like the french air raid sirens
it does but the horn cones are cut to shorter to make it sound louder lmfao
What is that thing inside of it spinning it looks like if you where to put you hand in there it would cut the hell out of you. And what is that stuff flying out. Silent hill brought me here.
Christian Hickman The thing spinning inside is the chopper, (the motor)
Patrick Murphy wow!! It looks extremely dangerous but nice siren.
Christian Hickman well you wouldn't want to stick your hand in it just like you don't want to stick your hand in the blade of a lawn mower
Snow!
+Christian Hickman its what makes the noise
I AM UR 1,000 SUB
Air raid drill lol
