- I swear does paradox even test their own games or are they seriously just that bad at them that they don't realize that people can just modify the current exploit to circumvent (I know I said circumnavigate in the video, sue me) the fix to the exploit. Like it took me maybe 5 seconds to figure out how to get around their "fix".

I love how you expose these problems. It's funny how some of the core game mechanics remain broken for years just because someone wrote 2 instead of 0.5.

@@mikke_213 I'm referring to the part about naval combat. All this time there was a 2 where there was supposed to be a 0.5 in part of the code, which made ships dodge hits 4 times more than they were supposed to

@@K0NG I used it in OWB mod, so my shitty militia divisions wouldn't get expensive advanced Gauss weapons and only the pipe guns xd. I can agree it's pretty useless in vanilla
@@GrandSnow469 I use it in vanilla to distinguish between tanks for infantry divisions and tanks for the tank divisions.
@@999mi999 What's the point though. Light tanks are as expensive as mediums and have a lot less stats. Which is precicely why you can only puth lights as infantry support.
@@GrandSnow469 Kinda make supercheap medium bricks with nothing but skirts, wealded armor, small 1man turret and as much steel in armor as you can, if its late enough and enemy uses armored tanks, you can put at-piercing gun in this to save div org for price of industrial capacity, otherwise go with heavy machinegun, its a gud backbone for expensive backbone divisions(1 per tile) that should keep tile, provide aa for tile batte, provide penetration to remove armor bonus from enemies tanks, and maybe provie maintenance team to collect all the stuff from batles, supersolid for medium+ sized countries in sp, can even work in mp in certain situation. Also adding of exavation to tanks, makes almost any designs(recon-at on wheels, just at,light-flamethrowers on wheels, medium-bricks) more than costeficient for defensive use in inf.
If PDX watches this, they will still change it before the beta patch is actually live now 😅😂
I dont think they will. What is in the beta patch is usually final. I would bet money on this.
3:24 That reminds me how in the recent Stellaris update they wanted to make the near-FTL primitive civilisations have a 5% chance to commit a Nuclear Annihilation each year, but instead made it to be a 5% chance each month.

Removing thats stockpile requirement can easily fix the exploit. If they want us to do the focus in 1937, the requirement should only be after 1937 time date. Anyway, thanks for the explanation for the rest of the update contents.
Or have it so that Austria fights back before 1936, or that everyone embargos you killing your run, or literally anything other than a quick bandaid fix

I presume naval batteries will actually be useful now, carriers will still be op but not the only ones that matter now. Also it will now probably be worth sacrificing speed for heavier batteries, or taking say Atlantic Designer over Raiding Fleet Designer

@@secondaccount1082 multiplayer has rulesets for a reason, the game can never satisfy every multiplayer ruleset and shouldn't aim to. Its a WW2 sim. and singleplayer rocks

I think they increased accident chance so they could increase training speed so it's more worthwhile to train planes as it's faster and costs less fuel.
I thought it was always worthwhile to train planes since during peace time you are not even using fuel
Transport plane ever since NSB went from overpower to complete worthless in a single patch, happy to see it got buffed eventhough it isn't much. Also what with this Anschluss exploit anyway. I always delay taking Austria as long as possible so they can give me more factory
You want to take as much land as possible earlier so YOU can take advantage of building as much as possible.
Hoi4 is a game of logisitcs and the faster you can build up the more successful you will be.
Before BBA or NSP I swear Austria was scripted to finish construction effort 3 (the final civ one that gives 2 civs) on the same day as the Anschluss, thus giving a Germany who waits more factories for waiting, but then at some point Austria now just does it randomly...

I've been playing a lot of Rimworld recently, but I wouldn't say I'm that good at it. I definitely save scum anytime a pawn dies for a bs reason.

@@71Cloak Hey, Rimworld would be great! I'm about 900h in and i too would't consider myself good, and save scumming is just a part of the game for me. In fact, one of the biggest rimworld youtubers ambigous amphibioun only had like 800 hours on a semi-recent vid!
Basically, you dont really need ro know much about it. Even if you only have 10 hours. Trust me, the communtiy is quite starved for content.

Watching the air XP part, after 18 days of training you lost 5 naval bombers. That’s kind of a lot imo.
I guess, by "Air wing XP gain increased" they mean wing XP(skilled crew), not Air XP.
I do this exploit anyways before the patch but paradox should understand anchluss just like most things can be countered easily by the allies because it means UK gets -5% consumer goods and fighter 2s early and soviets get war support for war eco without attache so early anchluss isn't even OP
what even is the advantage of doing anchluss early ?

Only way to increase reliability for planes is by medium designer. Gives 20% to medium frame. I'm pretty sure that is the only way.
some leaders have air accident chance modifier too like Italo Balbo for Italy.
I want to love transport planes. I really do, especially when dealing with Russia, Africa, and Asia.

wdym you love transport planes? they give 0.2 supply in the live patch and cost 20 command power to use 100 command power for 1 supply is not good

I too am annoyed when you're fighting in the depth of Russia or China and your supply is non existent. Also if PDX include the plane design for transport planes will be very appreciated. Their range is smth I would like to increase

you can change reliability(not directly) , but there are command people who recude it , and spirit of airforce also has something for it , l , there are also designers who do it , and specific country focuses , and special "country" designers as well

I don't like how you need so many damn transport planes to drop paratroopers, I enjoy using them but my goodness the amount of planes needed.
@TruckerDave650 I just drop them in batches of 6 divs separate orders as well. Still annoying, idk why they changed it.

Yeah, but at this point how could they possibly fix the Anschluss exploit without making the focus requirements extremely long and complicated?
just make requirements on strength of divisions in army
They can definitely add a check for how much equipment you have in the divisions and if its below a certain percent you can't do the focus. There are definitely mods that do that.
I don't understand why it needs to be "fixed". In singleplayer, most players will go the usual route; minmaxxers WILL find a way to circumvent the fix since they were the only one's using the exploit anyway; and it's banned in multiplayer anyway. It hurt no one.

Even if you were forced to, you could just wait 210-280 days for Austria to get more factories, then do it.

In all of my games, germany dont annex austria, because they have to few manpower. In every game...
i think what they should do that you don't rush it is that your division need to have at least 30 or 40% or the equimpent or make that you need to wait at least to 1937

I may be wrong, but I think Air XP gain stayed the same, rather Air WING XP gain is increased i.e. you can train fighters to lvl 3 a bit faster
why would you want to rush anschluss though? to my understanding you want to let the austrian ai do its industry focuses so you get more factories
I don't normally get Anschluss until about 1938 cuz I focus on industry and military then political.

why make it so complicated? convert all inf to horses train up another 20 horses rapid deploy and convert all 50 is horsesto mot with no equipment enabled

Um training you should always train your airforce before sending them to fight the enemy 15% agil and attack is huge its can litaraly the difrence between having green air or dying to then enemy
Does the Zero Focus for Japan still give the old plane designer where you can max out its reliability? If so does that still circumvent the air accident chance? The Zero from the focus still had better stats than the researchable and designable fighters which was hilarious to me
nah it has poor attack and defense compared to a proper 1940 fighter. The bonkers part is it was super cheap compared to a good plane, so as long as you have the fuel you could just swarm them

@@kinmersha the point of rushing the zero was you had a 1940 carrier plane in 37. It's not terrible. It has drop tanks and cannons. Sure it's not ideal because it has no self sealing or engine 3.
But isn't that focus exclusive with getting the Yamato-class superheavy battleships? Why would anyone pick little planes over giant boat?
This was also my first reaction when I read what the patch note in the log actually did (since they didn't actually specify what it did): just tick equipment off from a template and swap your fielded units to that one. It's mindboggling how PDX devs never seem to think about stuff like this. It's like they don't play the game. They certainly don't play "competitive" MP with people who know what they're doing.

Should be total. Although the tooltip makes it look like per tile.
@@71Cloak the current 0.2 was per tile as of some stealth change, so it might be 1 per tile here as well
I don't really see the point in preventing people from rushing it. Like in single player germany is already so strong that it doesn't change much and in multiplayer people usually have rules against rushing it. Usually when I play germany I don't even rush it because it's boring but I still like having the option to.
I rushed Anschluss 1 hour ago,did it in 1937 but normally I do it in 1936
yeah that is why in my friends mp rules anschluss rush is illegal and is punished with ban because it is fucking stupid AND annoying when people do it

PDX did the laziest fix possible. just do it like BICE mod, there the Army Stength is calculated by batallion type and equipment status. and this actually reflects the thing like its intended 🙄

Get Austria’s industry early
It is not so good in MP, you spike world tension
Factories.
Getting those factories early means you the snowball of your economy is higher.
Faster snowball. The way i did it you should be able to immediately do demand sudetenland afterwards as well. That is a lot of industry right at the beginning of the game. With an attaché to spain or goebbels you can also have war eco by mid to late 36 (depending on pp buy order) which is just a huge boost. You are going to use those civs and mils much more efficiently than austria or the czechs.
I don't usually do it, but it is very effective if you are trying to rush an early war with the allies.
@@71Cloak if you do it right and abuse the division reinforce mechanic you can get all of Yugoslavia after that too

Only the heavy fighters/tactical bomber designer has reliability on it. The rest don't. I don't think people really use those anymore.
Hope you've been taking self care, don't have to play the game if it's no longer entertaining. I'm sure people would be glad to have witnessed what you've already uploaded. Moving on with life is completely fine. Don't force yourself to make videos to upload.
why should paradox try to fix the exploits tho? Most people play single player and using developer resources to try and patch every little exploit that may be used for multiplayer seems a bit silly to me.
It is better to remove exploits than leave them.

Consider playing other games that you enjoy and uploading that to your channel.

You can use the division as a garrison division afterwards so it isn't a waste of xp like doing with an infantry battalion.

Most of these beta patches don't seem to change much before going live. Also, in the comments they claimed it made it much harder to rush anschluss which is just completely wrong.

For a super early war it's probs worth it.
But i would argue not as much for a regular game. (Going to war in '39 or '40

You still cannot? :D He did anschluss in 3 focuses, Hungary can't take Austria faster than 3 focuses. So it literally changes nothing only it makes it a little bit more annoying for German player thats it.
How did you get past the time limit where your not able to do it before 1937
It's an or statement. Jul 1937 or equipment in stockpile. One of those and 500k manpower in the field. So, it is so completely simple to by pass them might as well not have made the change.

I have noticed many people lost interest in this game after BBA.
Are Heavies in Post-NSB still the meta (in MP)? I think that that might have changed and that you should ignore the armor-stat completely. Meaning that you should use Medium tanks, Riveted Armor and rather focus on cost and offensive stats. Does that mean that Armor-upgrades are useless despite them giving Breakthrough?
On the other side you would still want a little bit of armor since otherwewise enemy infantry divisions can pierce you.

What is the optimal Tank division?
40 combat width?
7/8 mechs
1/2 Medium TDs with High velocity cannons
1/2 Flak-Panzer

@TruckerDave650 Big thanks. Thats about how I imagined it to be. One last question. If someone would use heavies and makes them pretty strong, but also costly, wouldn’t he be in a better situation than the low IC medium tank player? That would be the same as pre-NSB, because back then you needed Heavies in order to pierce the enemy and to have a chance against enemy heavies.
And numerical superiority wasn’t that beneficial anymore if you can’t break the enemy.
Or did this become completely obsolete by being able to make low armoured Mediums which can still pierce those heavies, meaning that the armour of both tanks is irrelevant and in the end it comes down to who has more divisions?
Are those heavies 100% completely countered by putting two TD-battalions ,which have Advaned High Velocity Cannons and eg. Squeeze Bore Adapters, into your tank division?
