I recently put 2000 on my clone and the reaction wasn’t as snappy on the back which was what I needed. It was a little much at first but after it lane shined, it was fine.
I got a chance to throw this ball at a demo. The contrast of bright colors and black on this ball hurt my eyes to watch as it made its move on the backend, but when I got it to the pocket, it carried.
I have a black widow 2.0 hybrid rn but dont like it. I cheated on storm once biggest waste of money. Definitely replacing it with this. My proton still comes out alot so idk if ill replace that or not yet
Looking for advice.. newer bowler.. getting my game down a little better and am looking to purchase my first "high end" ball.. had my head set on the exoitic gem, then today I see this magic gym hybrid releasing this month. Should I go with magic over exotic or a different ball all together. Im a two hand bowler. I bowl about 6 to 8 games a week when possible. Bowl 180s 190s average lately is around 160.
Eternity Pi seems to be slightly cleaner through the front and a little more responsive off of the friction than the Magic Gem. Magic Gem seems stronger front to back 👍🏼
Great video! I look forward to the coming 2024 PBA season. Winning will be inevitable when your talent is paired up with all these new releases. This season feels like it will be different.
@@jcavender00 Eternity Pi may be a bit closer than the Magic Gem but is still a bit stronger than the Nova. You can adjust the surface and layout accordingly!
I just switched from a house where we were always bowling on unoiled lanes and now the house shot has a lot of oil and I'm struggling. The ball I'm using is a Track Stealth. Do you thing the Magic Gem would be a good choice for me? Thanks for your videos.
Reacta Gloss is better than smooth edge for that off the point jump. Just saying... and its not wax based. Which makes it infinitely better and longer lasting than compound or polish that is wax based. PLUS its makes the ball tacky to the touch which makes griping the ball feel more secure.
Are you looking at hook as in the number of boards it covers because any ball can cover any number of boards given the right conditions. How many boards a ball coverage does not make it a strong ball.
IF YOUTHROW SMOOTH EDGE ON THE BALL....WHY NOT JUST USE THE EXOTIC GEM... since that is what you basically made by adding smooth edge to the ball... just saying... you just showed the ball being obsolete to an already existing product stack item... If I bought this to put smooth edge n the ball... I would just buy the EXOTIC GEM and ignore this ball altogether. Just saying Mike.
do you have any data that supports that assessment?@@tvbowlingsupply Also, Coverstock doesn't matter at all... once you put a coat of anything on a Ball. Its the transference of the material to the HPL surface that creates the friction and jump off the spot. Wax Based materials negate coverstock effectiveness to 0% because its not the coverstock that's contacting the surface but the wax on the ball. FRESH...Reacta Gloss (which isn't a Wax based) polish... is far superior to what you added to ball in this video.
Just experience/eye test from throwing many exotic gems and this magic gem, this ball transitions much smoother than all of the exotic gems thrown previously with the smooth edge on it. No scientific data unfortunately
I’m a big fan of the Tang brothers. I want to see you guys dominate in the PBA and make shows again. Let’s go Michael Tang. Get some titles fam!!
Lol this dude drilled my ball the other day I had no idea who he was 😂😂😂

Michael, you made Ball Reviews interesting! Thank you for the great content.
Thanks for the Storm tip on the smooth edge compound!!! The Magic Gem looks awesome!!!
Thank you Mike I'm very much considering this . Love the surface change. 😅
This is why I watch your videos I'm the same way sometimes changing the surface helps on the house shot
This ball is definitely the move! Shot 300 with it last night. This is the first Gem in my bag too! Recommending it to all style of bowlers!

What is your ball speed

Was wonder what a pin down ball would react like i have exotic gem and absolutely love it
Can't wait to use this ball with smooth edge on a tuesday afternoon on lane 33 at Holiday Lanes in the fall!
How would u compares Magic Gem with the Eternity PI ?
I'm deciding between these two
Eternity Pi seems to be slightly cleaner through the front and a little more responsive off of the friction than the Magic Gem. Magic Gem seems stronger front to back 👍🏼
wasn't the exotic considered a hybrid with 2 parts pearl 1 part solid????
Exotic was full pearl!
@@tvbowlingsupply Thank you Mikey or Chris or whoever responded ! :) cheer for you guys!!!

Seems like Magic gem doesn't retain as much energy as pi despite similar hook strength, gem seems to be soft while pi hits like a truck, true?
Pi does seem to have a cleaner cover so it retains energy much better than Magic Gem
Is this ball more then the Exotic Gem 💎 as far as snap?
Is the house shot their heavy medium or light just wandering to get an idea of if it would work on heavier house ahots
The house shot here has a bit more friction to it. This ball can definitely be used on a heavier house shot for certain people!
How would you say the Magic Gem compares to the Nova? I love the Nova but since it's discontinued I'm looking for something similar. Thanks M&C!
Much stronger! Way earlier than the Nova
@@tvbowlingsupply Thank you for the reply!
@@tvbowlingsupply Any recommendations for a ball similar to the Nova?

@@tvbowlingsupply Thank you! Appreciate the info and the videos!
How does the Magic + Smooth Edge compare to Exotic + Reacta Gloss?
A much smoother transition at the breakpoint than Exotic with comparable length through the front!

It could be! Definitely a stronger option than the Stealth
@tvbowlingsupply I need you to do this to the phase 2 you drilled for me the other day
So I should change the surface on my proton? That mf hooks. Struggle to get it through the fronts on fresh house shots.
Absolutely!
If it hooks too much why not use 3000 or 4000 grit.

I wonder if this ball hooks a lot!? :-)
Once they lane shine up. im good
Over sea balls in China they have the purple gem and other! wish they can bring them here to the us
Seems like all the motiv guys hook it plenty.
Are you looking at hook as in the number of boards it covers because any ball can cover any number of boards given the right conditions.
How many boards a ball coverage does not make it a strong ball.
What product did you use for the surface change?
Storm Smooth Edge👍🏼
Anytime you bowl a Holiday Lanes it's a losing battle 😂
Hey man idk if u ever are like a people person but I see u at holiday from time to time I need an autograph 😎
Ball looks good and your release is $ right now!
I have that shirt!
What speed do you normally throw? 15 mph?
i would bet he is up near 17 mph
I guess it depends, on the monitor or at release?
i always hit my new bowling balls with a pad to take the slime off of it from the factory which gives me a better reaction
This is a weird comparison, but you sound like cross between Jacques Pépin and Marco Pierre White at the start of the video.
That doesn’t look very hybrid to me either
If this is anything like my old defiant soul, I'm going to end up with 5 of these
Still have my Defiant Soul and just got a used Gem...not sure if I need this ball
Get a 16pounder and throw the 1st ball a little faster and it won't hook so much, young bowler......duh.

This ball is significantly smoother during the hook phase than an Exotic Gem even with Smooth Edge
