  • 2021 Cadillac CT4-V review by The Straight Pipes. The Cadillac CT4-V is pumping out 325hp and 380 lb-ft tq from a 2.7L Turbo 4 cylinder. At $57,380 CAD, would you take it over a Mercedes-AMG CLA35, A35 sedan, BMW M235i, Audi S3?

Great review guys! Everyone else seemingly trashed this car. Your review of it was the best, most fair, and most positive. I actually like these middle ground V cars because I have no experience driving a powerful car. I imagine something like this would be enough for me.

@@bonz1481 Ye same, I tried to test drive way 2nd hand but didn't work out lol. Mate amazing ay..the steering is so instant compared to my scirocco R it's crazy. Driving around town is nice, lots of attention - could daily it in normal modes and fuel is no drama, can take a second or two to pick up and go in normal drive mode. R Mode is godlike. Instant power as soon as you tape the throttle. 6 piston brakes as well so huge ability to stop.
The Interior is crazy, the Alcantara is something I've never had or seen before, feels amazing.
      Negative:
Paint is very poorly applied in the sense it's thin, within a week I had 2 paint chips on the top of my bonnet/hood and it looks like its one or two coats.
Wheels are massive, so rocks catch up in the calipers (minor) and the tires are VERY expensive.
Back seats feel a bit cheap, but who cares about the back seats!

Cadillac has shot themselves in the foot marketing their sedans for the last decade. The SUV craze doesn't help, but Caddi can't figure out how to offer a consistent product.
Like this has adequate performance in it's price and class, but an obviously budget interior(for the class+money)
It's got a great end and gets noticeably lazy towards the back.
It's got RWD, but can't put the power down.
It's got performance modes, but requires weird steps to do anything enthusiast focused.
It's full of compromises, but none of them result in a sport sedan that beats out any rivals.

GM should have made Cadillac strictly Luxury and made Pontiac strictly sports coupes and sedans. GM has some legendary model names but refuse to make use of them. Could you imagine a current Cadillac Fleetwood, Coupe/Sedan Deville, Grand Prix, GTO, Grand AM, and Trans AM

2.7 turbo I4 is a pretty impressive motor and it has the power figures to back it up. N/A V6 would be a huge step down and definitely slower than this. I can understand wanting a supercharged V6 but I personally drive an A6 3.0T and this caddy has way more performance. Something to be said about a large displacement inline 4

It's a crime that no one buys these cars. Gotta give Cadillac big props for trying over the last 20 years and (for the moment) keeping at it, though. I'll be heartbroken when the CT4 and CT5 are inevitably shitcanned 3-4 years from now. The writing is on the wall. The CT6 was a high-point all around - best styling, sick Blackwing engine, great technology - and it barely lasted a few seasons.

I have no clue what GM was thinking when they made it sound like that. Ford Focus RS and Fiat Abarth did good with the popping exhaust, but this sound like it's ether extremely broken or like me after Thai Curry and Sparrow Eggs. Nevermind, GM never thinks. A good 4 cyl can sound good but obviously not if GM has their filthy hands in it. Otherwise I absolutely love the car. I kinda wish Lincoln would attempt to put out a few performance models.
