2003 is so weird, because between two fantastic shows in Wrestlemania XIX and Vengeance, there were three absolutely abysmal shows with nothing redeeming whatsoever
Survivor series 03 was a great show are you mad? The opener was fun, Kane and Shane was high spot weapons fun, Taker vs Vince was a bloody spectacle. The Raw survivor series match was one of the best ever of that type.
2003 kane was actually one of the better kanes. Made him a monster we hadn't seen since the likes of 1997. Personally, I always preferred the masks, but if I'm being objective, it was good until 2004, when it became stale
A little history lesson for you guys in case you didnt no, that APA bar with the ref bartender.. Thats his bar, It's Tim Whites bar. legend has it that everytime he needed a remodel he would tell Vince and they would do a segment in there and destroy it for TV and Vince would pay for the work.. There was A couple different ones over the years.. Go back and look...
When I started watching WWE in 2003, I never got upset when I feel the wrong winner won a match…..until that SummerSlam Elimination Chamber match. I was a kid and I was upset over the outcome and my mom thought I was getting upset over nothing, but I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that feels this way.
Gonna be honest, 2003 was actually the year I thoroughly got into WWE and, this may surprise you, it was primarily because Goldberg was there. Long before I know what a quality match actually looked like, Goldberg was my favourite wrestler (mostly because we had toys of him and the intro for the WCW Mayhem game on PS1). Nowadays I am fully aware he wasn’t the best in the ring and I can recognise this was pretty bad all things considered, but I still look back on it with some nostalgic fondness, and Mania XIX’s one of my favourites
6:13 congrats fellas. u guys have been the only people that ever made me laugh abt this angle, match & outcome....booker was one of my favorites & he was never the same after that....king booker was utterly ridiculous & not to be taken seriously at all. BTW, who did H squash in his return from the big quad injury a few yrs later? King Booker of course....
Iirc Austin didn't have a panic attack. I believe he said he accidentally caused his BP to spike massively due to an overabundance of energy drinks and some other reason I can't remember. And good work, Vince. You can't put them in the main event, but the semi-main... that's not pressure at all. 😒😒😒
Hey, 2003 had AWESOME PPV theme songs: Royal Rumble: Trust Company - "Falling Apart" No Way Out: Evanescence - "Bring Me To Life" WrestleMania 19: Limp Bizkit - "Crack Addict" Backlash: Cold - "Remedy" Vengeance: Staind - "Price To Play" Summerslam: Metallica - "St. Anger" Unforgiven: Sevendust - "Enemy" No Mercy: Dope - "Today Is The Day" Survivor Series: Limp Bizkit - "Build A Bridge" You can tell where my taste in music came from...
Survivor series 03 is actually one of the great survivor series of all times its a great show i watched it recently and Brian zane also liked it in his review of that show
I came up with a couple other answers for WWE No Way Out 2003 besides “WAKE ME UP”, a.k.a. the best answer by the way. 1. “First Since Screwjob” - WWE No Way Out 2003 took place in Montreal, which was the first WWE PPV/PLE to take place live from Montreal since Survivor Series 1997. 2. “No Cold Open” - this was the only 2003 WWE PPV/PLE that did not have a cold open. 3. “WAKE ME UP” - also known as the best answer because “Bring Me To Life” rocks and Amy Lee rocks and Evanescence rocks!
Y'all forgot a 3 count for No Way Out '03. Angle breaks neck. This was the ppv where Team Angle were in a 6 man tag for the first time against Lesnar, Benoit and Edge. Angle had Lesnar in a sleeper/rear naked choke. Lesnar got Angle on his back and rushed the turnbuckle. Angle ended up whip lashing so hard on the turnbuckle that he broke his neck. You knew he had gotten injured cuz immediately after that spot he holds onto his neck and tags out. Angle ended up waited until after mania to get neck surgery so him and Lesnar could have the main event match and finish that feud.
I know this is the wrong video to mention it but as it has been in the end bumper twice now and i laugh harder each time I think i need a shirt that says "Gimmethefuckinmic"
This year is the start of Chris Jericho being stuck on midcard hell on Raw where the company deemed him reliable to work any part of the card. Meanwhile, you never got the feeling that HBK or Angle ever lost their main event aura.
I think a good one for the brock/angle iron man would be "angle previously ODs" because if I'm not mistaken, he recently said his sister died the day or so before and he overdosed, not waking up until a few hours before that match. He came out of an overdose and wrestled a 60 minute classic.
3:43 No Way Out 2003 has a special place in my heart 🫱🏻🫲🏽 Evanescence - Bring Me To Life was my introduction to Rock music, and as a WWE fan, they kept me consistent 🔥
That one became instant classic but funny thing is I learned about it a The Sims 2 game compilation video focused on Twilight story. That is how it got to me until I saw it somewhere else.
Sean O’Haire is one of those guys that I still feel like they really dropped the ball with. Go back and rewatch some Sean O’Haire. He was actually really good
Loved this one 😂 I started watching wrestling in 2003, but I was only 12 and my parents didn’t want to buy the PPVs. So all my PPV knowledge was from the video packages they aired the next week. It was cool to see what people who actually watched the PPV thought 😂
In 2003 saw Limp Bizkit in concert. Front row the whole concert one of my friends just shouted SNOT the whole time they were out there. He was so pissed lol
5:00 Rock actually won both Hogan matches, at WrestleMania X8 and at No Way Out 2003. I know right, Hogan jobbing twice? Also, apologies for being that one fact checking git in the comments. Love the content.

The brand split was arguably never in more effect than it was in 2003, and the shows were as different as they would be. Smackdown was at an all time high, with high quality wrestlers, a fresh new star in Brock Lesnar, and tons of stars and future stars being developed, and great storylines and storytelling. And RAW, was the the Triple H show, this era of RAW with HHH's reign of terror in full effect, included burials of major stars, terrible offensive stories like the Booker T racism angle and the Katie Vick stuff, bad booking calls caused by HHH such as the refusal to let Goldberg win at Summerslam. Just a miserable year for RAW.
For the Vince vs Undertaker match, I got my three words: "Vince Hating Catharsis." The reason being that anyone who was ever upset over how horrible a human being Vince is, it is very satisfying (even if it is worked) to see him crying and begging while being a bloody mess. Just don't watch the ending and it is very satisfying to watch :)
Idk, I miss this types of ppv themes.. they are 30 times better then the terrible pop and hip hop they would use after 2009. Also, Judgement Day 2003 doesn't get enough hate, and is a far worse ppv overall than Backlash 2003.
I also came up with one for SummerSlam 2003, specifically the WHC Elimination Chamber Match. 2nd Ever Chamber - as in that was 2nd ever Elimination Chamber Match in WWE history.
I'll never not laugh at the fact that Oli and Luke have two entirely different ideas as to how the 3 words are supposed to work and yet they both seem to brush it off like "he'll do it the right way next time"
Luke, I've got the MP3 version of Crack Addict which I used to DJ back in the early 2000s around rock clubs! If you want it, I'll try and find it for you if you want the MP3 version :)
I thought the story with Mania XIX & Austin was that he had a bit of a heart issue the night before, because of dehydration, not a panic attack. Do I remember it wrong??
Insurrextion 03 was dreadful, but I was at 01 and had a blast Edge & Christian vs Dudleys vs Hardys (also X-factor were there) in an elimination tables match, Jericho vs Regal, Benoit vs Angle 2 out of 3 falls, Eddie Guerrero got a decent match out of Grand Master Sexxay, Triple H & Stone Cold vs Taker
Interesting seeing hate for Slow Chemical Kane and love from another side here. I always see him a fan favorite version next to the original and 2001 version of Kane. I’m sure we can all agree that Corporate Kane is the absolute worst though
Damn someone changed wiki to now
“Batista was thrown over the top rope, thus eliminated, despite recent conspiracy theories.”
Oli saying “He beats off flair” with the hand motions kills me everytime 😂😂💀
2003 is so weird, because between two fantastic shows in Wrestlemania XIX and Vengeance, there were three absolutely abysmal shows with nothing redeeming whatsoever
Wrestling in a nutshell
Judgment Day had an incredible ladder match and a fun running story of Bischoff and Austin drinking in their suite.
Backlash 03 isn't that bad cena brock first time goldberg rock first time and i think bad blood 03 is also good flair vs hbk or hhh nash isn't bad
Can confirm, we the people of Newcastle do love our Greggs that we once had a Greggs opposite a Greggs
Fun fact: the only WCW guy Trips didn't beat in a match after WCW got bought? ........ Hogan.
Rey Mysterio (in singles match anyway)
wrong he did beat hogan in a smackdown
The crack addict podcast bit just SAVED MY LIFE!! Been wanting that on Spotify for like 12 years 😂😂
Survivor series 03 was a great show are you mad? The opener was fun, Kane and Shane was high spot weapons fun, Taker vs Vince was a bloody spectacle. The Raw survivor series match was one of the best ever of that type.
Lets now not forget that Stephanie vs Vince was a STORYLINE put in place because HHH AND STEPHANIE wouldnt get SHOOT married on TV
Insane
2003 kane was actually one of the better kanes. Made him a monster we hadn't seen since the likes of 1997. Personally, I always preferred the masks, but if I'm being objective, it was good until 2004, when it became stale

Believe it or not a lot of guys who are fond of the Ruthless Aggression Era consider 2003 an underrated year for WWE.

And good work, Vince. You can't put them in the main event, but the semi-main... that's not pressure at all. 😒😒😒
I think he was immensely exhausted cuz he hasn't slept for ages and was spiked up on caffeine and sugar, it's just Luke lying again lmao
Hey, 2003 had AWESOME PPV theme songs:
Royal Rumble: Trust Company - "Falling Apart"
No Way Out: Evanescence - "Bring Me To Life"
WrestleMania 19: Limp Bizkit - "Crack Addict"
Backlash: Cold - "Remedy"

Summerslam: Metallica - "St. Anger"
Unforgiven: Sevendust - "Enemy"
No Mercy: Dope - "Today Is The Day"
Survivor Series: Limp Bizkit - "Build A Bridge"
You can tell where my taste in music came from...
Bad Blood: Trapt - “Headstrong”
Love how Ollie says “ Bring it Back” about Bad Blood…. And they did. Lol
Survivor series 03 is actually one of the great survivor series of all times its a great show i watched it recently and Brian zane also liked it in his review of that show

Angle breaks neck.

Angle ended up waited until after mania to get neck surgery so him and Lesnar could have the main event match and finish that feud.
WWE in 2003 had great stuff like Brock/Angle, the rise of Cena and Orton, SmackDown 6, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, RVD, Kane, Booker T, etc…
I know this is the wrong video to mention it but as it has been in the end bumper twice now and i laugh harder each time
I think i need a shirt that says "Gimmethefuckinmic"
This year is the start of Chris Jericho being stuck on midcard hell on Raw where the company deemed him reliable to work any part of the card. Meanwhile, you never got the feeling that HBK or Angle ever lost their main event aura.
As opposed to the year before. After the Mania that is where he's at.
The original Chris Jericho Midcard vortex
It was cool seeing both Oli and Luke wearing those backwards caps! not to mention they listed some good matches from WWE.
I think a good one for the brock/angle iron man would be "angle previously ODs" because if I'm not mistaken, he recently said his sister died the day or so before and he overdosed, not waking up until a few hours before that match. He came out of an overdose and wrestled a 60 minute classic.
