All that will do if they raise your credit limit is you will go out and get further into credit debt. and that is not good either especially when you take into account the fact that the interest rate on you card has gone up. It will take you longer to pay it off unless you make over the minimum payment or if you can manager it make to payments a month.

Because it will make the inevitable default even worse, remember when they issue MORE debt, that means that debt can be purchased on the open market to provide liquidity. China buys that debt, so issuing more debt means, countries like China own more of American debt, the more they owe, the more they can demand in a default in terms of Austerity measures. Those measures generally last until the debt is paid off, so more debt means the longer such measures would be in place, and the longer countries like China would get to dictate active policy to recoup their obligations. Giving them more time to sabotage and rob the American people of their wealth. But yes you are right in the sense that, the debt level NOW is already unsustainable, so a default at some point is already going to happen, and that's what Kevin isn't saying is that, now it's not IF but WHEN, and the key here is to soften the landing at much as possible. Because this is what happens when you overly rely that the value of your currency being contingent on being the currency that everyone else uses as the reserve for the sales of one commodity IE Oil, and because of that over-reliance, you sign off on dismantling your own manufacturing base and shipping it off to another country so your country no longer produces but consumes.
Listen to the Speaker that has explained the best plan yet that has ideas from both the Divide for the Unity of the State. It's logical, should be effective and no other better plan yet than the best. I'd give McCarthy 10 out of 10 for his Energetic Performance and Leadership Qualities.

So you read the bill they passed? 270 pages of 313, rolls back clean energy credits, giving money, land, and lease requirements to big oil. $200 billion in profits (last year), 8700 approved leases on 15,000,000 acres of public land isn't enough? Just don't get it. The debt is at a level that is impossible to sustain, and they don't think that will cause harm. But refusing to raise the ceiling to borrow even more is somehow more damaging? Don't get it.

So on that logic a child is abused, that child turns into a violent person. That child turns into a adult and creates two other violent people. Those two create 4 violent people. Why stop when there are so many violent and abusive people?
Because it will make the inevitable default even worse, remember when they issue MORE debt, that means that debt can be purchased on the open market to provide liquidity. China buys that debt, so issuing more debt means, countries like China own more of American debt, the more they owe, the more they can demand in a default in terms of Austerity measures. Those measures generally last until the debt is paid off, so more debt means the longer such measures would be in place, and the longer countries like China would get to dictate active policy to recoup their obligations. Giving them more time to sabotage and rob the American people of their wealth.
But yes you are right in the sense that, the debt level NOW is already unsustainable, so a default at some point is already going to happen, and that's what Kevin isn't saying is that, now it's not IF but WHEN, and the key here is to soften the landing at much as possible.
Because this is what happens when you overly rely that the value of your currency being contingent on being the currency that everyone else uses as the reserve for the sales of one commodity IE Oil, and because of that over-reliance, you sign off on dismantling your own manufacturing base and shipping it off to another country so your country no longer produces but consumes.
McCarthy explained it very well.
